Analyzing Depthwise Convolution Based Neural Network: Study Case in Ship Detection and Land Cover Classification
Various methods are available to perform feature extraction on satellite images. Among the available alternatives, deep convolutional neural network (ConvNet) is the state of the art method. Although previous studies have reported successful attempts on developing and implementing ConvNet on remote sensing application, several issues are not well explored, such as the use of depthwise convolution, final pooling layer size, and comparison between grayscale and RGB settings. The objective of this study is to perform analysis to address these issues. Two feature learning algorithms were proposed, namely ConvNet as the current state of the art for satellite image classification and Gray Level Co-occurence Matrix (GLCM) which represents a classic unsupervised feature extraction method. The experiment demonstrated consistent result with previous studies that ConvNet is superior in most cases compared to GLCM, especially with 3x3xn final pooling. The performance of the learning algorithms are much higher on features from RGB channels, except for ConvNet with relatively small number of features
MULTI-CLASS REGION MERGING FOR INTERACTIVE IMAGE SEGMENTATION USING HIERARCHICAL CLUSTERING ANALYSIS
In interactive image segmentation, distance calculation between regions and sequence of region merging is being an important thing that needs to be considered to obtain accurate segmentation results. Region merging without regard to label in Hierarchical Clustering Analysis causes the possibility of two different labels merged into a cluster and resulting errors in segmentation. This study proposes a new multi-class region merging strategy for interactive image segmentation using the Hierarchical Clustering Analysis. Marking is given to regions that are considered as objects and background, which are then referred as classes. A different label for each class is given to prevent any classes with different label merged into a cluster. Based on experiment, the mean value of ME and RAE for the results of segmentation using the proposed method are 0.035 and 0.083, respectively. Experimental results show that giving the label on each class is effectively used in multi-class region merging
LEARNING WORD RELATEDNESS OVER TIME FOR TEMPORAL RANKING
Queries and ranking with temporal aspects gain significant attention in field of Information Retrieval. While searching for articles published over time, the relevant documents usually occur in certain temporal patterns. Given a query that is implicitly time sensitive, we develop a temporal ranking using the important times of query by drawing from the distribution of query trend relatedness over time. We also combine the model with Dual Embedding Space Model (DESM) in the temporal model according to document timestamp. We apply our model using three temporal word embeddings algorithms to learn relatedness of words from news archive in Bahasa Indonesia: (1) QT-W2V-Rank using Word2Vec (2) QT-OW2V-Rank using OrthoTrans-Word2Vec (3) QT-DBE-Rank using Dynamic Bernoulli Embeddings. The highest score was achieved with static word embeddings learned separately over time, called QT-W2V-Rank, which is 66% in average precision and 68% in early precision. Furthermore, studies of different characteristics of temporal topics showed that QT-W2V-Rank is also more effective in capturing temporal patterns such as spikes, periodicity, and seasonality than the baselines
APPLICATION OF THE FORWARD CHAINING METHOD IN DOWN SYNDROME PATIENTS
According to WHO data, the incidence of Down syndrome is 1 in 1,000 live births in the world. Down syndrome is a backward condition in the physical and mental development of children that results from abnormal chromosome development. However, these conditions are often too late to be realized by the parents of the sufferer. By conducting this study using the forward chaining method aims to help parents to do early detection of the level of retardation of Down syndrome. So, with the existence of this application, it is very petrifying for parents to carry out treatment from an early age in the right way. Thus, sufferers of dwon syndrome get maximum support and attention from the people closest and nearby so that children with dwon syndrome can grow happily and have a decent life like other normal children even though this dwon syndrome cannot be cured.
Group Decision Support System based on AHP-TOPSIS for Culinary Recommendation System
This paper proposes the integration of AHP and TOPSIS to generate the ranking results of culinary recommendation for a group of users to provide better recommendation results. Formerly, Group Decision Support System (GDSS) for culinary recommendations has been developed with the TOPSIS method. TOPSIS has low algorithm complexity, so it is suitable to be applied in mobile devices. However, GDSS with TOPSIS has its disadvantages, TOPSIS have not been able to facilitate the preferences of each user inside a group so the recommendation result always consist only on dominant user. TOPSIS method produces unchanging rankings, because this method recommends a food menu based on the 1 dominant user so that the ranking is always consistent. Meanwhile, this study aims to integrate AHP for weighting criteria from each user and TOPSIS for ranking culinary recommendations. Based on rank consistency testing results that conducted in 6 different user groups, unlike the previous research, AHP-TOPSIS shows inconsistency ranking, which means that changes in user preferences affect the recommendation results that are generated by application. The AHP-TOPSIS method proved can be accommodated the computation of various preferences of each user in GDSS culinary recommendatio
AN INTELLIGENT DENGUE HEMORRHAGIC FEVER SEVERITY LEVEL DETECTION BASED ON DEEP NEURAL NETWORK APPROACH
Dengue hemorrhagic fever is one of the most dangerous diseases which often leads to death for the sufferer due to delays or improper handling of the severity that has occurred. In determining that severity level, a specialist analyzes it from the symptoms and blood testing results. This research was developed to produce a system by applying Deep Neural Network approach that is able to give the same analytical ability as a doctor, so that it can give fast and precise decision of dengue handling. The research stages consisted of normalizing data to 0 – 1 intervals by Min-Max method, training data into multilayer networks with fully connected and partially connected schemes to produce the best weights, validating data and final testing. From the use of network parameters as much as 10 input units, 1 bias, 2 hidden layers, 2 output units, learning rate of 0.3, epoch 1000, tolerance rate 0.02, threshold 0.5, the system succeeded in generating a maximum accuracy of 95% in data learning (60 data), 87.5% on data learning and non-learning (40 data), 85% on non-learning data (20 data)
AUTOMATIC DETERMINATION OF SEEDS FOR RANDOM WALKER BY SEEDED WATERSHED TRANSFORM FOR TUNA IMAGE SEGMENTATION
Tuna fish image classification is an important part to sort out the type and quality of the tuna based upon the shape. The image of tuna should have good segmentation results before entering the classification stage. It has uneven lighting and complex texture resulting in inappropriate segmentation. This research proposed method of automatic determination seeded random walker in the watershed region for tuna image segmentation. Random walker is a noise-resistant segmentation method that requires two types of seeds defined by the user, the seed pixels for background and seed pixels for the object. We evaluated the proposed method on 30 images of tuna using relative foreground area error (RAE), misclassification error (ME), and modified Hausdroff distances (MHD) evaluation methods with values of 4.38%, 1.34% and 1.11%, respectively. This suggests that the seeded random walker method is more effective than exiting methods for tuna image segmentation
MULTISPECTRAL DORSAL HAND VEIN RECOGNITION BASED ON LOCAL LINE BINARY PATTERN
Nowadays, dorsal hand vein recognition is one of the most recent multispectral biometrics technologies used for the person identification/authentication. Looking into another biometrics system, dorsal hand vein biometrics system has been popular because of the privilege: false duplicity, hygienic, static, and convenient. The most challenging phase in a biometric system is feature extraction phase. In this research, feature extraction method called Local Line Binary Pattern (LLBP) has been explored and implemented. We have used this method to our 300 dorsal hand vein images obtained from 50 persons using a low-cost infrared webcam. In recognition step, the adaptation fuzzy k-NN classifier is to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed approach is feasible and effective for dorsal hand vein recognition. The experimental result showed that LLBP method is reliable for feature extraction on dorsal hand vein recognition with a recognition accuracy up to 98%
ENHANCEMENT OF PIXEL VALUE ORDERING BASED DATA HIDING BY ROW BLOCK PARTITION
The development of information and communication technology that support digital data transmission such as text, image, audio and video gives several effects. One of them is data security that becomes the main priority during the transmission process. Pixel-Value-Ordering (PVO) which one of data hiding methods can be implemented to achieve the requirement. It embeds data on maximum pixel and minimum pixel in a blok which is a part of the carrier image. However, PVO has capacity a problem, that only 2 bits per block can be hidden. To handle this problem, we propose a new approach by dividing blocks dinamically based on its complexity. These blocks are grouped into 4: smooth block, semi-smooth block, normal block and rough block. Using this approach, the stego capacity can be improved up to 2.6 times in average of previous method by keeping the quality stego more than 65 dB for all testing image
Bayesian Bernoulli Mixture Regression Model for Bidikmisi Scholarship Classification
Bidikmisi scholarship grantees are determined based on criteria related to the socioeconomic conditions of the parent of the scholarship grantee. Decision process of Bidikmisi acceptance is not easy to do, since there are sufficient big data of prospective applicants and variables of varied criteria. Based on these problems, a new approach is proposed to determine Bidikmisi grantees by using the Bayesian Bernoulli mixture regression model. The modeling procedure is performed by compiling the accepted and unaccepted cluster of applicants which are estimated for each cluster by the Bernoulli mixture regression model. The model parameter estimation process is done by building an algorithm based on Bayesian Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method. The accuracy of acceptance process through Bayesian Bernoulli mixture regression model is measured by determining acceptance classification percentage of model which is compared with acceptance classification percentage of the dummy regression model and the polytomous regression model. The comparative results show that Bayesian Bernoulli mixture regression model approach gives higher percentage of acceptance classification accuracy than dummy regression model and polytomous regression mode
