The collaborative rice field management that has been carried out in Ciracap Village, Ciracap District, Sukabumi Regency, aims to achieve the level of food security of farmer households. The stakeholders have roles as capital providers, facilitators, and off-takers. This study aims to analyze the extent to which the effectiveness of collaboration can provide positive changes to the level of food security of farmer households in Ciracap Village. This research started from February to August 2021, using mixed methods. The data collected was obtained based on a survey method with a questionnaire instrument for quantitative methods, as well as observations and in-depth interviews for qualitative methods. Quantitative data were processed using a multivariate test with MANOVA analysis, while qualitative data is processed by data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the collaborative process of rice field management was based on a high level of trust between the closest stakeholders. However, based on the administrative data that is not on field conditions, the effectiveness of the collaboration process on the level of household food security is less effective. The effectiveness of collaboration tends to be weak because the program implementation has not yet fully guaranteed the fulfillment of food for farmer households. This is indicated by the socio-economic conditions of farmers that have not changed positively because the quality and quantity of rice production are not in line with the target

Neue-Gemeinschaft: Digital Transformation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises among Rural Community in Banyuwangi, East Java

This study aims to analyze the digital transformation of changing rural economy towards a digital society. Qualitative research methods were used, including 50 participants and in-depth interview informants, with participatory observation, policy analysis, and three series of focus group discussions both in person and online. The study found that internet intervention significantly impacts collective behaviour and improves MSMEs development. Referring to the continuum theory of Gemeinschaft-Gesellschaft, the study showed that these changes result in the formation of a ‘Neue Gemeinschaft’. Rural MSMEs are entering a new era due to the adoption of digital technology by businesses that support and exhibit characteristics such as the intensity of the use of internet networks, the ability to conduct digital transactions, and the preservation of village social values. Theoretically and empirically, the research indicates that digital transformation is driven by a change in collective behaviour around technology use, followed by inclusive rural digital economy

Eco-theological Construction of Waste Management in the Rehobot Church Congregation, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara

This study aims to analyze the social construction process of eco-theology-based waste management among the Rehobot church congregation in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. This study uses the phenomenological method, especially Berger and Luckmann’s theory on the social construction of reality. The results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between waste management and the congregation’s beliefs, where the congregation interprets waste management activities as a form of obedience to God. As servants of Allah, humans must be able to overcome waste as one of the social problems of society, by turning waste into “bread”. Waste is seen as a challenge to human beings; if it can be managed wisely, it can be a blessing that is beneficial to life. Waste management activities in the congregation are the result of social construction that occurs through three dialectical phases. The externalization phase is marked by various products of waste management activities by the congregation, such as managing waste through waste banks, sorting waste, utilizing waste into compost, forming waste volunteers, and reducing the use of single-use plastic waste. The phase of objectivation occurs when the products of waste management activities that occur in the externalization phase undergo a reification process. The product of activity then undergoes institutionalization and is strengthened by the presence of religious legitimacy. The phase of internalization occurs when the procession of re-absorption of various waste management activity products of the congregations that have been objectivated, into the structures of subjective awareness

Kebijakan Pangan dan Gizi Nasional dalam Praktik Pemenuhan Pangan Keluarga di Aceh: Analisis Foucauldian tentang Diskursus Kuasa Tubuh Manusia

This article aims to analyze national policies on food and nutrition in the family food fulfillment practices in Aceh. Various programs to address food and nutrition problems have been made but nutrition problems have not been successfully resolved. The results of the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riset Kesehatan Dasar, Riskesdas) showed that the prevalence of stunting for baby under two years old in Aceh is the highest in Indonesia. This article was based on Foucauldian theory and a qualitative approach, through interviews with 40 families having children under five years old to recall the type of food consumed by all family members for 3 x 24 hours The results show that there is a gap between the practice of fulfilling family food in Aceh and national policies on food and nutrition. The practice of fulfilling family food is focused on carbohydrates and animal protein, while the government promotes the fulfillment of a balanced diet between carbohydrates and proteins (animal and vegetable) with vegetables and fruits. The gap occurs because of differences in the discourses of the power of the body and benefits of food. The community understands that food aims to make the body able to function properly (body productivity discourse). Meanwhile, the government aims for the human body to grow and develop ideally to avoid degenerative diseases (healthy body discourse). Family food fulfillment practices depend on the power of women’s knowledge, especially mothers’ who have the main role in fulfilling family food
