The management of intangible liabilities for the maximization of intellectual capital and the achievement of efficient and innovative innovation frameworks in organizations
Today's business environment, marked by intense global competition and the accelerated pace of technological change and the adoption of disruptive technologies by companies and institutions, has elevated innovation as one of the main sources of competitive advantage. In this context, the intellectual capital of organizations becomes a critical factor, as it encompasses the knowledge, skills and capabilities that enable organizations to create value and maintain their competitiveness. However, alongside the intangible assets that make up this capital, there are negative factors or “intangible liabilities” that can limit the innovative potential of organizations.
This article will examine the concept of intangible liabilities in depth, their impact on innovation and intellectual capital, and discuss strategic approaches to minimize them. In addition, real case studies will be explored that will demonstrate how companies manage these liabilities to optimize their performance and position themselves as leaders in their respective industries.
The findings will suggest that the effective management of intangible liabilities is directly related to an increase in innovation capacity, organizational resilience and long-term sustainability, highlighting the need to implement robust management systems to achieve this, such as Innovation Management Systems, and the establishment of standardized metrics to assess their impact and facilitate strategic decision making.

Meeting UN's 2030 agenda: Analysis of enablers for energy firms..
Within the framework of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda, this study analyzes the role of the energy sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through a resource-based approach, it investigates the elements facilitating SDG implementation in global energy companies, distinguishing between renewable energy and fossil fuel firms. Using empirical analysis with data from 522 companies in the sector, the methodologies of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) are combined to understand the factors driving SDG implementation in this industry. The results reveal significant differences between renewable energy and fossil fuel companies regarding the effectiveness of facilitative elements, highlighting the complexity of implementing SDGs in the energy sector. This study contributes to understanding how energy companies can leverage their resources and capabilities to align with the 2030 Agenda, providing guidance for change agents in the energy transition
Study on the Deformation Law of Foundation Pit with Shared Ground Connecting Walls
This study comprehensively investigates the mechanical behavior and deformation patterns of adjacent foundation pits sharing a common ground connecting wall. Utilizing a combination of detailed field measurements and finite element modeling, the study simulates the excavation process to analyze the mutual interactions between two adjacent pits of equal depth. Results indicate that the excavation of a subsequent pit influences both surface settlement and the horizontal displacement of the retaining structure of the first-excavated pit. Specifically, the surface settlement outside the first-excavated pit increased by 0.08%
Improved Modal Parameter Identification of Spillway Radial Gate under Discharge Excitation based on COV-SSI
This paper aims to improve the accuracy of modal parameter identification for Spillway Radial Gate (SRG) under discharge excitation. An Improved Covariance-driven Stochastic Subspace Identification (COVISSI) method, enhanced by Singular Entropy Increment (SEI) and Potential-based Hierarchical Agglomerative (PHA) clustering, is proposed. This method is designed to effectively eliminate false poles in the identification process. The performance of COV-ISSI is compared against the original stochastic subspace identification method, demonstrating its superior capability in accurately identifying modal parameters. Additionally, both the Additional Mass Method (AMM) and Direct Coupling Method (DCM) are employed to model the fluid-structure interaction system of the SRG. The derived vibration frequencies are compared with those obtained from COV-ISSI and an improved peak-picking method. Results show that the DCM closely aligns with COV-ISSI, with a relative error within 3%, while AMM results show significant deviation from the DCM. The proposed COV-ISSI method provides a reliable and automatic approach for identifying the operating frequencies of SRG structures, offering significant improvements over traditional methods.OPEN ACCESS Received: 24/07/2024 Accepted: 27/09/2024 Published: 07/04/202
CHAPTER 10: MECHANICAL RECYCLING OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS
The mechanical recycling of long-fiber composite materials is presented as an alternative of greater technological simplicity as well as low energy consumption, emission of pollutants and use of solvents, which places it in an advantageous position from the point of view of environmental sustainability. However, the products obtained are short-fibered, which reduces their mechanical reinforcement capacity, and have been used mainly as fillers for cementitious, asphalt and thermoplastic matrices.
The technologies used to reduce the size of the initial pieces substantially influence the characteristics of the final product obtained, especially if they are to be used for functional purposes in terms of electrical or thermal properties. In addition, the fibers obtained have a proportion of resin from the initial composite material, so the subsequent treatment processes of these fibers, both physical and chemical, can affect the amount of final resin present in the product, its agglomeration or its surface characteristics.
The current challenges for these products is to find processes that allow a better quality and greater uniformity of the final properties of the short fiber, so that the products obtained present a greater added value, which allows them to compete with other current discontinuous reinforcements
Alfabetització financera i benestar financer - FULL PAPER
