PENGENALAN KARAKTER PADA SURAT MASUK MENGGUNAKAN NEURAL NETWORK BACKPROPAGATION
A letter is a means of communicationto convey information in writing by one party tothe other party. It functions include five things: means notices, requests, thoughts and ideas. Aformal letter is a letter that contain the officialor a particular business problem. Along with theincreasing demand for the current documentdigitalization, OCR (Optical CharacterRecognition) application is often used toidentify the image of characters then will beconverted into text files. Furthermore, ArtificialNeural Network is one kind of technologyapproach that promising can increase thecomputer's ability to recognize and representpattern. Meanwhile, Backpropagation is onekind of neural network algorithm whichcommon used. Therefore, a characterrecognition application using neural networkbackpropagation will be designed. Applicationneed a data image of document letter as aninput, it’s obtained from scanning, thencontinued by pre-processing, segmentation,normalization size process. After all, it’s readyto be processed in network and will getcharacters text as an output. Result of the testhad been showed that, the best recognitionaccuracy rate on the characters trained, fontArial, with learning rate (α) 0.2, momentum (µ)0.5 and 15 epoch is 71.95% and for thecharacters without trained, font Times NewRoman and Courier New, the recognitionaccuracy rate is 40.24%. Overall, the result ofpercentage success the recognition of 790characters in 15 document letter is 84.56%
ANALISIS QOS (QUALITY OF SERVICE) PADA JARINGAN INTERNET (STUDI KASUS: FAKULTAS TEKNIK UNIVERSITAS TANJUNGPURA)
Faculty of Engineering University ofTanjungpura as one of the government educationalinstitutions take an active role in the intellectual lifeof the nation, requiring infrastructure and take advantage of advances in information technology toachieve optimal results, such as the internet. Thedevelopment of the Internet and network lately hasmade IP (Internet Protocol), which is the backboneof networking-based TCP / IP is rapidly becomingobsolete. QoS (Quality of Service) is technology thatapplied to the WAN (Wide Area Network) thatallows network administrators to be able to handlea variety of effects due to congestion (congestion) onthe traffic flow of packets in the network. QoSparameters are delay / latency, jitter, packet loss,throughput, MOS, echo cancellation and PDD. QoSparameters that measured are delay, jitter,throughtput, packet loss and MOS (Mean OpinionScore). Result of measurement of QoS parametersthat have been made, value delay was 3.39 withgood index, jitter was 1.50 with bad index,throughput was 1 with bad index, packet loss was 4with very good index and MOS was 2.34 with lessthan good index, so the average total of QoSparameters was 2.45 with index Enough and withit’s percentage was 61.25% in the TIPHONstandard, thus it can be concluded that the internetof Faculty of Engineering University ofTanjungpura belonging to unsatisfactory standardbased on the standard of TIPHON (Joesman 2008)with a rating of < 95%
PERANCANGAN FORMULIR ELEKTRONIK DIENKRIPSI DENGAN METODE BLOWFISH PADA SISTEM PENDAFTARAN ONLINE (STUDI KASUS : SELEKSI MANDIRI UNIVERSITAS TANJUNGPURA)
Seleksi Mandiri Tanjungpura University is one of the entrance method to the college, especially in the TanjungpuraUniversity. Registration of Seleksi Mandiri Tanjungpura University done directly by the candidates of the student. This existing method takes quite a long time. The number of applicants is not proportional to the number of committees that serve and verify the administrative requirements of participants, so this resulted in a queue ofstudent candidates. Online system that used as a service in the registration system have been widely applied in daily life. It proved to minimize the problems that previously occurred. Long lines of queue and paper used as a medium of registration can be reduced and prevented with the online service systems. Electronic form is an application that designed for Seleksi Mandiri Tanjungpura Tanjungpura University registration system. Application form fulfillment will be possible to conduct in conditions of a computer connected or not connected to the Internet. However it can be done at offline. One method to protect data from unwanted party is to randomize the data sent, so if the data is received by the other party, they do not understand the purpose of the data. Blowfish algorithm is an algorithm which is quite good and applicable. Blowfish have varying levels of security, the key length used by Blowfish may vary by the system. The application uses data snap technology by applying service application so it becomes more secure because of the indirect communications with the back end. The results show that the design and testing of these applications can be used for the registration process. Prospective participants will receive a registration receipt cards used to take exams.

Computer Answer Sheet is a form for a special paper that will be processed by a computerand scanner. The fact is that the existing scannerComputer Answer Sheet is not flexible, it isintended that its use is only for one type of academic tests,such as examples of the type Ascanner,can only be used for Answer Sheet type A.Computer Answer Sheet Image ScannerApplication Usage with Smart Scan technique based on the basis of the resulting image on thescanner scanning.This application can be used on all types of machines and all kinds of scanner witha particular configuration. Smart Scan technologyutilization in applications designed to use someprocess that can produce the output of thecorrection. The process consists of scanning,image processing with image preprocessing andrecognition area with scanline method. Thescanning process is done by physicaltransformation Answer Sheet into the form of adigital image. This image will be used as input tothe application and will be processed using imagepreprocessing. Preprocessing results in the formof a binary image will be used further in theprocess of introducing area with scanline method.Scanline method is basically a way of introductionpoints/dots to process the object’s entire surfaceby scanning the image horizontally and verticallyto produce the output of characters that can be stored in the database. Based on the resultingdatabase matching answers with the answer keycan be done to produce the output of the value ofthe correction. This study indicate that the designof computer answer sheet image scannerapplication with smart scanning techniques can becorrected the Answer Sheet with 94.5% successrate and the application is considered successful

A type from the using ofcomputer technology in medical world is expertsystem. Expert system is a system that used tohelp the patient or users to get the informationabaout a desease with doing the consultationwith that system. Knowledge from an expert inthis case a doctor will formulated into a systemby using a method. The method that involving inthis system is a fuzzy logic method. By using thediagnose for severe acute respiratory infectionfrom the expert system it can give theinformation to users like the name of deseasethat happened to patient and the solution thatcan be done to the prevention. According to thetesting of the system to user, system can give theresult that suitable with the condition of user.But, it only happen according to the rules ordetermindtion that has been inputed intosystem. This expert system is not actually canchange all over the expert ability, but hoped thatin the future this system can be develoved inorder to get the better result
