    (Protein efficiency of broiler chickens fed with diets containing kayambang leaves meal)ABSTRACT The aim of the experiment was to determine the utilization of kayambang (Salvinia molesta) leaves meal until 18% based on its effects on protein consumption, protein intake, meat protein mass and protein efficiency ratio. One hundred broiler CP 707 day-old unsexed chicks, with an average body weight 502,48 6,99 g age 15 until 42 days. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications and each replication consisted of 5 chickens.. The treatments diets were T0 (basal diet), T1 (6% Salvinia molesta leaves meal), T2 (12% Salvinia molesta leaves meal), and T3 (18% Salvinia molesta leaves meal). The results showed that administration of Salvinia molesta leaf meal up to 18% level in the diet resulted in a decrease in the quality of the ration so that the protein utilization also decreased as indicated by the decline in the value of protein intake, protein intake, protein mass of meat and protein efficiency ratio

    (The Effect of Wood Vinegar Through to The Drinking Water on The Quality of Broiler Chicken Carcass)ABSTRACT. This aims of this research was to determine the percentage of carcass, commercial carcass parting and meat bone ratio (breast, thigh and wing) of broiler consumed wood vinegar. This research was assigned into used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 different treatments and each 3 replicates. The treatments were dose of wood vinegar, R0 = water + 0% wood vinegar, R1 = water + 0.25% wood vinegar, R2 = water + 0.5% wood vinegar, R3 = water + 0.75% wood vinegar, R0 = water + 1% wood vinegar. The observed parameters were percentage of carcass, commercial sliced carcass parting and meat bone ratio. The results showed that wood vinegar in the drinking water did gave not significantly (P0,05) effect to the percentage of carcass, commercial sliced carcass parting and meat bone ratio of broiler chickens. It is concluded that Liquid wood vinegar can be used for broiler chickens until 1%

    (Characteristics and quality of king grass silages treated with various sources and level of carbohydrate fermentable)ABSTRACT . An experiment was carried out from April 1st up to August 18 th 2013. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of source and level fermentable carbohydrate as an additive on the characteristic of ensilage and the contents of crude protein and crude fibre of king grass silage. The methods of this study was experimental, by using Completely Randomized Design. There were 9 treatments, each of which consisted of three replications. The treatments were : A = 1 % of mollases; B = 2 % of mollases; C = 3 % mollases; D = 5 % of rice bran E = 10 % of rice bran; F = 15 % of rice bran; G = 5 % of of cassava cake; H = 10 % of of cassava cake; I = 15 % of cassava cake. Note: all percentages were on the basis of king grass fresh weight. The observed variable were physical characteristics (color, aroma, texture, fungi), pH, temperature, and nutrient contents (crude protein and crude fibre). The result of this study showed that the color change of the silage was as follow: at the 14th and 28th day. The treatment had highly significant effect (P 0.01) on the color, texture, and fungi of the silage and the content of crude protein, and had no significant effect (P0,05) on the aroma (smell), temperature, pH and crude fibre. The contrast orthogonal test to the color, aroma, infestation of fungy, crude protein, the treatment of ABC was different relative to those of DEFGHI treatments. This study could be conclude that by wilting of king grass (water content of 60 %), the 13 of 3 % of mollases snd 5-15 % usage of rice bran an additive the results are better compared to the usage with additive of cassava cake, viewed from silages physical quality as well as its nutrient contents

    (Pre-partum supplementation of heit-chrose on post-partum blood profile and recovery of body weight of dairy cows)ABSTRACT. This study aimed to determine the profile of blood, metabolic enzymes and recovery of body weight in dairy cows fed diet supplemented with Heit-CHrose (Feed supplement containing saponins, allicin, organic mineral: Se, Cr, and Zn). The experiments were conducted with 4 treatments, R0 : control diet (CP 13,79% and TDN 67,2%), R1 : R0 supplemented with organic minerals (Cr 1,5 ppm; Se 0,3 ppm; Zn-Lyzinat 40 ppm), R2 : Ro supplemented with Heit-CHrose are given in the component feeding, and R3 : Ro supplemented with Heit-CHrose are given in total mixed ration (TMR). Data were tested using analysis of variance with a completely randomized design using four replications, and HSD test. The results showed that the supplementation of Heit-CHrose to the diet of dairy cows gave significant effect (P 0.01) on blood glucose and recovery of body weight, but had no effect (P 0.05) on hemoglobin, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), total protein and blood cholesterol and metabolic enzyme (alkali phospatase).     (Efficiency and digestibility feed of sheep given silage complete feed water hyacinth added starter lactobacillus plantarum)ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the effect of a complete ration of silage made from water hyacinth on feed efficiency and digestibility. This study uses fifteen rams (12 months old with an average body weight of 19 3.98 kg). The experimental was designed completely random. The sheeps were randomly divided into 3 treatments, and 4 replications. The sheeps wereted concentrate and fresh elephant grass (T0), silage-based rations complete without the addition of starter hyacinth L. plantarum (T1), and a complete ration silage made from water hyacinth by the addition of L. plantarum starter (T2). Feed structured treatment isoenergi and isoprotein (PK 13% and 65% TDN). Feed treatment was given for 12 weeks with a 2-week adaptation period. The results showed that feed intake, ADG, feed conversion, and feed efficiency were not significantly different (P 0.05), but it can improve feed digestibility (P 0.05) between treatments. Feed intake data, digestibility, ADG, feed conversion and feed efficiency at T0, T1 and T2 as follows: 678.27, 811.43, 701.21 g / day; 70.51, 71.74, 69.82%; 94.09, 106.34, 97.28 g / day; 7.22, 7.66, and 7.18; 14.09, 13.23 and 14.02% use a complete ration silage with L. plantarum starter better than the control treatment in the form of concentrates with elephant grass but not better than silage without a starter

    (Nutritive value of dadih added with yeast of dadih origin)ABSTRACT. Dadih is traditionally fermented buffalo milk product which is along with lactic acid bacteria (LAB), a diversity of yeast species involved in fermentation process. The existence of yeast in dadih gives positive contribution either in aroma or their role in securing a good product. There were three different dadih origin yeasts involved in this experiment (Candida curiosa, Brettanomyces custersii and Kluyveromyces lactis.) The objective of this research is to study more about growth and yeasts role on dadih fermentation in order to find positive value of yeast to keep nutritive value of dadih. Completely Randomized Designed used with four treatments. The treatments given was percentage of combined yeast culture which were P0 (buffalo milk + LAB), P1 (buffalo milk + LAB + 0,5% yeast culture), P2 (buffalo milk + LAB + 1,0% yeast culture), and P3 (buffalo milk + LAB + 1,5% yeast culture), by seven replication. The difference effect between treatment was tested by using Duncans Multiple Range Test. The Results showed that addition of yeast culture in dadih effect the pH, total of microorganism, degree of lactic acid, protein and dadih fat significantly. Overall dadih added with 1% yeast culture (P2) increase 14% degree of protein and decrease 2,7% degree of dadih fat

    (The genetic correlation of growth traits in Aceh cattle at indrapuri district Aceh Province)ABSTRACT. This research was conducted to estimate genetic correlation of growth traits on Aceh cattle including birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), yearling weight (YW), and Average Daily Gain (ADG). The research was done at Indrapuri Breeding and Forage Centre (IBFC) of Aceh cattle from March 2013 to April 2013. The materials of this research consist of growth records from 2010 to 2012. The genetic correlation was analyzed by variance and covariance. The results indicated that the lowest standard error (SE) value of heritability showed on birth weight 0.15+0.13. Most of genetic correlation value on growth traits was positive and high categorized ( 0.50). The lowest SE value showed on correlation between birth weight and pre-weaning ADG (0.55+0.54), birth weight and post-weaning ADG (0,63+0,62), pre-weaning ADG and post-weaning ADG (0.71+0.33), pos-weaning ADG and weight/age or W/A (0.72+0.33) then final weight and W/A (0.94+0.69). It could be concluded that most of genetic correlation value on Aceh cattle growth traits were positive and high therefore the selection based on growth traits can be done for increasing performance in Aceh cattle

    (Effect of supplementation of vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc mineral againstto nutrient consumption, production and quality cement simental cow)ABSTRACT. Simental bulls often experience a decline in production and semen quality in the rainy season, which have a higher humidity and high rainfall. This study aims to maintain nutrient consumption, production and semen quality Simental bulls during the rainy season through the supplementation of Vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc Minerals. The study was conducted in July-December 2012 at the Artificial Insemination Center (BIB) Unggaran. The research material used in this study were 12 males Simental cows BIB Unggaran grouped by age. The experimental design used in this study is a randomized block design (RBD) with 3 treatments T1 (ration + Vit. E), T2 (ration + Vit. E + Se), T3 (ration + Vit. E + Se + Zn) and 4 groups as replicates. Parameters measured were dry matter intake and nutrient consumption, production and semen quality. Cement production was measured from fresh semen volume during the study, whereas semen quality measured motility and concentration of spermatozoa from fresh semen. Data consumption of dry matter and nutrient intake obtained were processed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan test. While data on production and semen quality were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the combination of vitamin E supplementation, minerals Selenium and Zinc did not affect dry matter intake, total digestible nutriens and crude protein, but resulted in a decrease in the percentage of shelter, semen volume, sperm motility and concentration smaller than before treatment. Treatment T1, T2 and T3 resulted in a decrease in the number of shelter respectively 41,55%, 19,56% and 13,63% compared to before treatment, whereas a decrease in semen volume unchanged at 44,9 %, 43,7% and 40,99%. Sperm motility due to treatment T1, T2 and T3 respectively decreased by 55,87%, 22,10% and 13,63% compared to before treatment. In line with sperm motility, sperm concentration in treatment T , T2 and T3, respectively decreased by 49,16%, 22,85% and 14,88%. The conclusion is a combination of vitamin E supplementation, minerals Selenium and Zinc can prevent the decline in cement production, sperm motility and sperm concentration Simental bulls during the rainy season

    Improving of rice straw quality and its effect on ability nutrient digestibility and rumenmetabolism products of buffalo in-vitro with feces as inoculum sourceABSTRACT. This study was aimed to determine the effect of feeding ammoniated rice straw plus concentrate on buffalo nutrient digestibility and rumen fermentation products by in vitro.The Research was carried out by using experimental method, designed according to completely randomized design (CRD).The source of inoculum was obtain from different feces of three buffalos kept in Datar Village of Purwokerto region fed rice straw, rice straw plus concentrate and rice straw ammoniated plus concentrate with dry matter ratio of 80 : 20.The treatments tested consisted of three treatments, namely R0 = control feed using rice straw; R1 = the use of rice straw plus concentrate with a ratio of (DM basis) 80:20; R2 = the use of ammoniated rice straw plus concentrate with a ratio of (DM basis) 80:20. The treatments were repeated 7 times, so there were 21 experimental units.The Variables measured included total VFA, Ratio A/P, N-NH3, Microbial Protein Synthesis (MPS), Dry Matter and Organic Matter Digestibility. The result of this study showed that the treatment had an effect significant (P0.05) on the concentration of VFA, Ratio A/P, N-NH3, Microbial Protein Synthesis (MPS), and Dry Matter and Organic Matter Digestibility. The HSD test showed that the highest production of VFA,Ratio A/P, N-NH3, Microbial Protein Synthesis (MPS), Dry Matter and Organic Matter Digestibility were achieved at R2 followed by R1 and R0 respectively.     The nutritious content fermentation of palm oil sludge by P. chrysosporiumABSTRACT. This research is aimed at observing the nutritious content of palm oil sludge fermentation by P. chrysosporium. The experimental design used completely randomized design in factorial (3 x 3). The first factor is the inoculum dosage, namely : (D1). 3 %, (D2). 6 % and (D3). 9 % of substrate weight. The second factor is the length of fermentation, namely : (L1). 4 days, (L2). 8 days and (L3). 12 days. Every treatment is repeated for three time. The data found is scrutinized by mode print and it is followed by distance test of multiple Duncan (Steel and Torrie, 1989). The variables observed in research are dry materials, crude fiber, crude protein, cellulose and lignin. The research on the influence of inoculum dosage and the length of fermentation on dry materials content and crude protein shows insignificant interaction (P0.05). On the other hand, crude fiber, cellulose and lignin show significant interaction (P0.01). The inoculum dosage of 6 % and the fermentation length of 8 days is the best combination treatment and it can reduce the crude fiber amounting to 40.86 %, an increase of crude protein amounting to 30.75 % and a decrease of cellulose and lignin amounting to 39.78 % and 36.40 % respectively
