Digital Twin Development of a Testing Grid using a Grid Analyzer
The recent transformation of the energy sector brings new challenges in areas such as supply security, efficiency, and reliability. Especially the increase of decentralized power plants leads to a more complex energy system and an increasing complexity. This requires expansion and digitization of the power grid as well as an initiative-taking operation of the grid operator. To investigate such complex systems and its phenomena, modern development methods such as real-time simulation or digital twins (DT) can be used. In this approach a digital replica of the real-world system, a grid section, is developed, which can represent or predict the behavior of the real distribution grid. For this, a model of the real-world system is derived and implemented in a co-simulation environment, in which it receives data via an analyzer or measurement system from the grid model. This paper focuses on the development of the digital twin of a testing grid and a grid analyzer for the measurement. With the digital twin of the testing grid, a first approach is achieved in a real-time capable environment showing the functionalities and interactions of a digital twin. Subsequently the development of the digital twin model is explained, and the results are discussed
Gender Gap in Entrepreneurial Intention, Reasoning, Self-Efficacy, and Education Preferences Among University Students: an Entrepreneurial Event Theory Perspective
This study presents a gender-focused perspective of entrepreneurship education programs, aiming to understand variations in entrepreneurial intention, reasoning on entrepreneurship, self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial education preferences. The present research grounds on Entrepreneurial Event Theory to examine entrepreneurial intention, desirability, and feasibility in the context of entrepreneurship education. The research was conducted in Germany in 2021 and included a sample of 156 university students. The study deploys the Mann-Whitney U Test to examine gender differences among university students regarding entrepreneurship. The findings highlight a heightened perception of risk among female students, influencing their focus on positive/negative entrepreneurial events compared to male students. Moreover, the research reveals a greater inclination among females to engage in both curricular and extracurricular entrepreneurship education activities, corroborating previous studies suggesting greater benefits for female students in such programs. The study also underscores the importance of distinguishing between curricular and extracurricular offerings, indicating promising avenues for future entrepreneurship education research. Overall, this investigation contributes new insights and explanations regarding gender dynamics in entrepreneurship education, shedding light on potential areas for further exploration in the field

Code of Practise on standardisation (EU 2023/498) - Realisation by standardisation representatives -
This conference poster takes up the European recommendation (EU 2023/498), which proposes 57 individual measures to improve standardisation training and strategy in the European Research Area. To implement these measures, it is proposed to install "standardisation representatives" at universities and research institutions. Checklists and audit questions for their tasks can be requested from the first author. This could increase the sufficient standardisation competence of university graduates from the current estimated 1 percent many times over
Metrics and characterization of 3D cameras for facial biometric applications
Diese Arbeit behandelt die Entwicklung von zuverlässigen und objektiven Metriken zur Charakterisierung von 3D Kameras auf ihre Eignung für gesichtsbiometrische Anwendungen. Aufbauend auf vorangegangenen Arbeiten werden Methoden zur Bestimmung von Schärfe, Auflösung, Verzeichnung, Einfluss von Materialremission und Messwinkel auf den Messfehler vorgeschlagen.
Die Methoden werden an drei ToF-Kameras und einer aktiven Stereokamera getestet. Zu den wichtigsten Ergebnissen gehören die Anwendbarkeit der ISO 12233:2023 Slanted-Edge Methode für die 3D-Kameraschärfe und Verbesserungen der Böhler-Stern-Methode für die 3D-Auflösung. In der Studie wird erstmals eine umfassende Analyse der Auswirkungen von Materialremission und -winkel auf den Messfehler durchgeführt.
Es wird gezeigt, dass die Methoden zuverlässig die Eignung von 3D-Kameras für die Biometrie charakterisieren und sowohl für ToF- als auch für aktive Stereokameras anwendbar sind. Unter Anwendung von 24 Schlüsselmetriken kann die Performanz von 3D Kameras effektiv zusammengefasst werden, was robuste Bewertungen für biometrische Anwendungen ermöglicht.This thesis seeks to contribute to the standardization of characterization methods for Time-of-Flight (ToF) cameras, especially in the field of their suitability for facial biometric applications. Building on previous work, this work proposes methods to determine sharpness, resolution, distortion, influence of material remission and measurement angle on the measurement error.
The methods are tested on three ToF cameras and one active stereo camera. Key findings include the applicability of the ISO 12233:2023 slanted edge method for 3D camera sharpness and enhancements to the Böhler-star method for 3D resolution. The study presents a first-time comprehensive analysis of material remission and angle impacts on measurement errors.
The methods reliably characterize 3D camera suitability for biometrics, applicable to both ToF and active stereo cameras. Overall the 3D camera performance can be effectively summarized in 24 key metrics, providing robust evaluations for biometric applications
Perceived Social Support and Health Care Spending as Moderators in the Association of Traditional Bullying Perpetration with Traditional Bullying and Cyberbullying Victimisation among Adolescents in 27 European Countries: A Multilevel Cross-National Study
Existing research has documented the association between bullying perpetration and bullying victimisation. However, it is still unclear how different sources of social support moderate the association between bullying perpetration and bullying victimisation at a cross-national level. Using multilevel binary logistic regression models, this study examined the moderating role of public health care spending and perceived social support (i.e., family and teacher support) in the association between traditional bullying perpetration and victimisation by traditional bullying and cyberbullying among adolescents across 27 European countries. Country-level data were combined with 2017/18 Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) survey data from 162,792 adolescents (11-, 13-, and 15-year-olds) in 27 European countries. Results showed that adolescents who perpetrated traditional bullying had a higher likelihood of being victimised by traditional bullying and cyberbullying than adolescents who did not bully others. Results also indicated that the magnitude of the positive association between traditional bullying perpetration and victimisation by traditional bullying and cyberbullying was mitigated among adolescents with more family, teacher, and public health care support. These findings support the notion that multilayered systems of social support could play a vital role in bullying prevention and intervention strategies to address bullying among adolescents
