Characterization of Nata De Coco-Benedict Film by Adsorption as Sensor for Glucose in Urine Sample

    Get PDF
Research on nata de coco utilization as a film to immobilize benedict reagent for glucose analysis has been conducted. Immobilization of benedict by nata de coco film was evaluated by using adsorption method and characterization i.e. physical characterization (morphology) and viability characterization of its sensors activity for glucose. Morphological characterization (SEM) showed that the benedict reagent has been absorbed by nata de coco film despite leaching activity of 14.7%, with optimum concentration of Benedict of 0.2682 M, 40 min dyeing time at maximum of 541 nm. Sensor characterization of cellulose nata-Benedict for glucose showed regression coefficient of 0.9895, the detection limit of 780 ppm with a sensitivity of 0.001 and adsorption reproducibility of 0.2013%. Glucose content measurement on urine sample by using Nata De Coco-Benedict based Film Nelson-Somogyi

Regeneration of Cocoa Zygotic Embryo Using Kinetin in B5 Media

    Get PDF
The objective of this research was intended to identify the influence of kinetin application on zygotic embryo regeneration of several cocoa plants and examine the most appropriate kinetin concentration for regeneration of several cocoa clones. This research was conducted at Laboratory of Plant Tissue Culture, Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture,Jember University. The research was designed by Completely Randomized Factorial Design within four replications. The first factor was 4 cocoa clones which consisted of DR 1, DR 2, ICS13 and ICS60.The second factor was 5 methods of zygotic embryo regeneration. Result showed that the best response of cocoa clone to kinetin concentration of all examined parameters was shown by DR 1 clone. Morever, on initiation stage, the most appropriate kinetin concentration for regeneration of several cocoa clones was 2 ppm

Outlier Detection in Observation at Multivariate Linear Models with Likelihood Displacement Statistic-Lagrange Method

    Get PDF
There are two different outliers, i.e outlier in observations and outlier in models. The existing outlier detection method in models is using common Likelihood method. The limitation of this method is the optimal value produced might be not the real optimal values. This research yields a method for outlier detection in multivariate linear models with Likelihood Displacement Statistic-Lagrange method (LDL method). This method uses multiplier Lagrange with constraint the confidence interval of parameter’s vector. This parameter’s vector is obtained from the data set which is outlier free. This parameter estimation process uses numerical method with Karush-Kuhn Tucker condition in nonlinear programming. This method compares between LDL value and the table F value that follows the distribution of F value to indentify the outlier in models

Handling Outlier in Two-Ways Table by Robust Alternating Regression of FANOVA Models: Towards Robust AMMI Models

    Get PDF
AMMI (Additive Main Effect Multiplicative Interaction) model for interactions in two-way table provide the major mean for studying stability and adaptability through genotype × environment interaction (GEI), which modeled by full interaction model. Eligibility of AMMI model depends on that assumption of normally independentdistributederrorwithaconstantvariance. Nowadays,AMMImodelshavebeendevelopedforany conditionofMETdatawhich violencethenormality, homogeneityassumpion. Wecanmentioninthisclassof modelling as M-AMMI for mixed AMMI models, G-AMMI for generalized AMMI models. The G-AMMI was handling non-normality i.e categorical response variables using an algorithm of alternating regression. While in handling the non-homogeneity in mix-models sense, one may use a model called factor analytic multiplicative. The development of AMMI models is also to handle any outlier that might be found coincides withnon-homogeneityconditionofthedata. Inthispaper, wewillpresentofhandlingoutlierinmultplicative model by robust approach of alternating regression algorithm

Presence of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Coastal Forest Based on The Salinity Gradients

    Get PDF
The role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi is very important in a coastal area with sandy soil, high salinity level and low available of phosphate. However, the salinity levels also affect the diversity and activities of mycorrhizal fungi. This research was aimed to learn about arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in coastal forest based on the salinity gradients. The results demonstrated that spore density and percentage of mycorrhizal colonization decreased by increasing the soil salinity. The same effect was also showed on the observed spore types. Glomus was found as the dominant spore in the research area

Laser Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy of Atoms in a Hollow Cathode Discharge Lamp

    Get PDF
It has been demonstrated in this work that commercial hollow cathode discharge lamps can be used for LaserInduced Fluorescence technique by sending the laser beam into the cathode discharge lamp. Experiments havebeen performed using a single mode diode laser to investigate selected lines of argon (~772 nm). After resonantlaser excitation on a certain transition, most of the other lines in the spectrum change their intensities in the LIFexperiment. The highest intensity increment is observed for the wavelengths which originate from the sameexcited level (2p7) as the one accessed by the pumping radiation. Further very strong intensity changes areobserved for transitions from the excited levels nearest to the pumping level, obviously due to collisional transferprocesses

Optimum Simplex Lattice Designs of Low Order Multiresponse Surface Model by D-Optimum Criterion

    Get PDF
Simplex lattice design is a part of mixture designs has patterns simplex {q, m} where q is number of factors andm is degree of polynomial. If entangling a number of the response variables which measured from a number offactors called the multiresponse surface model, hence to obtain get the matrix designs of optimum mixture atmultiresponse surface model will be used by the optimum-D criterion. In this research, we studied abouttheoretical approach to get optimum simplex lattice design of low order multiresponse surface model byoptimum-D criterion. We assumed that design points have similar weighted values

Similarity for Binary Data Based on the Value of Entropy and Structure Patterns Categories

    Get PDF
Similarity of two objects that have a form of binary data, usually calculated based on the frequencies in thecontingency table that includes all discrete random variables. In this article we will discuss the similaritymeasures for binary data based on entropy values and structural patterns of the two object categories. Measuringsimilarity based on the value of entropy and structural pattern of categories can be used as a validation measureof similarity for binary data

CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model) with Stable Distribution

    Get PDF
In the classical finance theory, the CAPM models are developed using the Gaussian framework, that is, weassume the vector of returns can be modeled using the multivariate normal distribution. However, it is foundempirically that typically the financial data, especially the returns of assets, are leptokurtic (i.e., it is heavy tail andpeaked around the center). It has been shown in the literature that the stable distribution, where the normal is of aspecial case, becoming one of the popular model to model leptokurtic data. In this paper, we analyse the CAPMunder the assumption that the data follows the stable non-normal distribution with the index ofstability1 <α < 2 . We finally provide empirical application of the CAPM under the Gaussian and stable casesusing several returns data from Indonesian Stock Market

Pd Seed Under-layer Effect on Coercive Field of Perpendicularly Magnetized Co/Pd Multilayer Films

    Get PDF
Coercive field, Hc dependence of Pd seed under layer has been investigated for Co/Pd multilayer with perpendicular anisotropy magnetic. Structured Co/Pd multilayer fabricated by DC sputtering machine on glass substrate. Results indicated that Pd seed under layer of 50Ã… thicknesses successfully increased Hc from 800Oe to 1600Oe. The results could be related to the Co/Pd multilayered grain to grow separately leading exchange de-coupling effect, beside the increase of surface interaction
