    Get PDF
Many students struggle to cope with academic pressure, leading them to give up easily when they receive poor grades, face difficult assignments, or experience failure. Over time, these experiences can erode self-confidence and foster self-deprecating beliefs, such as perceiving themselves as “stupid.” This study examined the effectiveness of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) group counseling in enhancing the academic resilience of students with academic difficulties. The research was conducted at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP with a sample of 20 students. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was employed. Participants were selected using random sampling, and data were collected using a Likert-type academic resilience scale. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Mann–Whitney test. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated a significant increase in academic resilience in the experimental group (Z = −2.81, p = .005) and a significant change in the control group (Z = −2.81, p = .005). Furthermore, the Mann–Whitney test showed a significant difference in posttest academic resilience scores between the experimental and control groups (Z = −3.80, p = .001), demonstrating that REBT group counseling is effective in improving the academic resilience of students with academic difficulties

    Get PDF
The issue of students' lack of discipline in public schools remains a major challenge in educational institutions. When disciplinary issues such as tardiness, failure to complete homework, skipping classes, and truancy are left unaddressed, they can disrupt the learning process and directly impact students' academic performance. This study aims to analyze the improvement of learning discipline among vocational high school students (SMKN) using behavioristic group counseling with self-management techniques to enhance student discipline. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 195 students, from which 10 students were selected for the experimental group and 10 students for the control group, all of whom exhibited low levels of learning discipline. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data analysis techniques included the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov 2 Independent Samples test. The findings revealed that group counseling services using a behavioristic 1approach with self-management techniques effectively improved students' learning discipline. These results provide practical implications for school counselors in delivering guidance and counseling services, particularly group counseling services, using a behavioristic approach with self-management techniques to systematically improve students' learning discipline

These findings highlighted the importance of family support and workplace empowerment in promoting personal growth for workers with disabilities, suggesting a need for inclusive policies and support programs to enhance their quality of life.

Inspiring the New Workforce: Transformational Leadership and Job Satisfaction as Drivers of Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Generation Z Civil Servants

    Get PDF
In 2023, Generation Z ASN (State Civil Apparatus) workers accounted for 6% of the workforce, totaling 268,920 employees. Previous research suggests that Generation Z holds different work values compared to earlier generations. These differences may lead Generation Z workers to be less inclined toward Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), despite OCB being a crucial factor in organizational performance. This study aims to examine the OCB of Generation Z ASN workers and its relationship with Transformational Leadership, with Job Satisfaction as a mediating factor. The research involved 365 Generation Z ASN employees working in the Government of Province X, selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected using the OCB Scale, Transformational Leadership Scale, and Job Satisfaction Scale. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that both Transformational Leadership and Job Satisfaction have a positive and significant impact on the OCB of Generation Z ASN employees. All proposed hypotheses were supported. These results highlight the critical role of Transformational Leadership and Job Satisfaction in enhancing OCB among Generation Z ASN workers

Mental health issues are increasingly considered necessary by society. However, if it is not balanced with mental health literacy, individuals with mental disorders will find it difficult to heal and the stigma will be challenging to reduce. An intervention must be used to improve mental health literacy in the community. This study aims to discover mental health literacy interventions in various settings and recommendations for further research. This study was conducted using the scooping review method using the PRISMA-ScR guide. Ten studies were found from the SCOPUS, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink databases. The results of the analysis found that various mental health literacy interventions were proven effective and could be implemented in school, community, worker, and family settings. Recommendations for further research are discussed in this study

    Get PDF
Patient safety is a critical component of healthcare quality, with an increasing emphasis on cultivating a strong safety culture within healthcare organizations. A robust safety culture is linked to improved patient outcomes, particularly in hospital settings. This study contributes to the international literature by examining the perceptions of safety culture among healthcare professionals in Indonesia through a cross-sectional survey involving 100 health workers using the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC) instrument. Descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the data, revealing that the dimension of organizational learning and continuous improvement received the highest positive response rate (83%), while teamwork across hospital units was notably low at 43.8%. Multiple regression analysis revealed that organizational learning and continuous improvement was the most significant predictor of overall safety perceptions (β = 3.975, p = 0.000), emphasizing the importance of sustained learning in fostering a robust safety culture. This study highlights the need for structured training programs on teamwork and error reporting without penalty, advocating for enhanced healthcare policies in Indonesia to strengthen patient safety culture

Adaptation of the Authentic Followership Scale into Indonesian: A Validity Study

    Get PDF
Authentic followership has been proven to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of leadership and organizational performance. Authentic followership has four-dimensional structures, namely self-awareness, balanced processing, relational transparency, and internalized moral perspective. Based on previous studies, the only measuring instrument that is comprehensive enough to reveal the construct of authentic followership is the authentic followership scale by Leroy et al. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to adapt the authentic followership scale into the Indonesian language and test its validity. To determine the content and construct validity of the measuring instrument, this study involved 531 participants (M age = 42.31, SD = 9.76; 58% female and 42% male). The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) proved that the four-factor measurement model (16 items) fit the empirical data obtained. This finding indicates that the Indonesian adaptation of the authentic followership scale has internal validity and construct validity as a measuring instrument. This study has limitations related to participants who only involved members of public organizations from East Java. Therefore, further research should involve members of public organizations from various organizations throughout the province. The originality of this study is the only adaptation process of the authentic followership scale in the Indonesian language that has ever existed

    Get PDF
The rapid development of the digital world presents numerous potential risks, particularly for children. Compared to other age groups, children are at a heightened risk of exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and privacy violations due to their limited ability to protect themselves. Parental guidance plays a crucial role in helping children navigate these digital dangers. This study aims to explore the internal factors of parents and their role in supporting children in managing digital risks. Using a qualitative approach and a case study methodology, the study involved four parents of children aged 7 to 12 years who were actively engaged in managing digital risks. Data collection consisted of online surveys, followed by interviews and self-report documents, all of which were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings highlight that internal factors such as parental values and communication significantly influence how effectively parents can support their children in addressing digital risks. Based on these results, it is recommended that future interventions and support programs for parents focus on strengthening communication skills and aligning family values to better equip parents in guiding their children through digital challenges

    Get PDF
Turnover is a persistent issue within organizations. Its impact can have both direct and indirect effects on the company. A high rate of turnover intention can lead to instability in the organizational structure, which may subsequently decrease the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s operations. This study examines the roles of job satisfaction and job stress in mediating the relationship between perceived organizational support and turnover intention. The research employs a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional study design. The characteristic population for this study consists of oil palm harvester employees at PT XY, and a saturated sampling technique was utilized, resulting in a total sample of 145 oil palm harvesters. The instruments employed in the study include the perceived organizational support scale, job satisfaction scale, job stress scale, and turnover intention scale. The findings indicate that job stress partially mediates the relationship between perceived organizational support and turnover intention (β=-0.348, p<0.01) among harvesting employees. Meanwhile, job satisfaction does not mediate this relationship (β=-0.058, p>0.01) for the harvester employees at PT XY. These findings provide practical insights for human resource strategies aimed at reducing employee turnover, particularly in labor-intensive plantation sectors

Perceived Organizational Support and Lecturer Professionalism: The Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction

    Get PDF
Lecturer professionalism is a crucial determinant of higher education quality, particularly in institutional contexts with limited structural support. This study examines the influence of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) on lecturer professionalism, with job satisfaction tested as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, the study involved 293 certified lecturers under the coordination of KOPERTAIS Region IX, North Sumatra. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results revealed that POS had no direct and significant effect on lecturer professionalism (β = 0.130; p = 0.082), but significantly affected job satisfaction (β = 0.728; p = 0.000). Job satisfaction, in turn, exerted a significant positive effect on lecturer professionalism (β = 0.474; p = 0.000) and fully mediated the relationship between POS and professionalism (β = 0.345; p = 0.000). These findings suggest that perceptions of organizational support enhance lecturer professionalism only when translated into positive work experiences that foster psychological and affective job satisfaction. The study underscores the practical importance of adopting relational and humanistic approaches in academic human resource management to strengthen and sustain lecturer professionalism
