Full text linkIndexation in popular bibliographic and citation databases and the frequency of citations of published papers are the main indicators nowadays of the visibility and impact of a scientific journal. Stojanovski et al. (2015) in their paper investigated the visibility of 112 geodetic journals, including the journal Cartography and Geoinformation, based on their indexation in appropriate thematic and most popular multidisciplinary databases.Indeksiranost u popularnim bibliografskim i citatnim bazama podataka i učestalost citiranja objavljenih radova danas su glavni pokazatelji koji upućuju na vidljivost i utjecaj znanstvenog časopisa. U radu Stojanovski i dr. (2015) istraženo je kakva je vidljivost 112 geodetskih časopisa, među njima i časopisa Kartografija i geoinformacije, temeljena na njihovoj indeksiranosti u odgovarajućim tematskim i najpopularnijim višedisciplinarnim bazama podataka

No full textGhana is a country exceptionally rich in geologic mineral resources with contrasting topographic relief and varied geophysical setting. This paper evaluated the geological and geophysical setting of Ghana with a special focus on the impact of the geologic setting and topography on gravity. Specifically, it assessed how variations in geology, topography, landscapes and the environment control the geophysical parameters and how these vary among the major regions of the country – the Volta Basin, Northern Plains, Ashanti-Kwahu (Kumasi) and Coastal Plains in the Accra surroundings. Previous studies utilizing traditional Geographic Information System (GIS) approaches have documented the geologic evolution of Ghana evolved as a part of the West African Craton. As a contribution to the existing research, this paper presents a regional analysis of Ghana by integrated mapping of geology, geophysics and topography of the country. The technical approach of this research focuses on utilizing the console-based scripting cartographic toolset Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) integrated with QGIS for processing and mapping the datasets: General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO), Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM-2008), gravity grids. The theoretical background is based on the geologic research of West Africa supported by high-resolution data. The paper defines a conceptual cartographic framework for integrated geologic and geophysical visualization in a regional-scale mapping project on Ghana.Gana je zemlja iznimno bogata geološkim mineralnim resursima s kontrastnim topografskim reljefom i raznolikim geofizičkim okruženjem. U ovom se članku procjenjuje geologija i geofizika Gane s posebnim naglaskom na utjecaj geološkog okruženja i topografije na gravitaciju. Konkretno, procjenjuje se kako varijacije u geologiji, topografiji, krajolicima i okolišu kontroliraju geofizičke parametre i kako se oni razlikuju među glavnim regijama zemlje – bazen Volte, Sjeverne ravnice, Ashanti-Kwahu (Kumasi) i obalne ravnice u okruženju Akre. Prethodne studije, koje su koristile tradicionalne pristupe s pomoću geoinformacijskih sustava (GIS), dokumentirale su geološku evoluciju Gane koja je evoluirala kao dio zapadnoafričkog kratona. Kao doprinos postojećem istraživanju, ovaj članak daje regionalnu analizu Gane integriranim kartiranjem geologije, geofizike i topografije te zemlje. Tehnički se pristup ovog istraživanja fokusira na upotrebu kartografskog skupa alata za skriptiranje na konzoli (Generic Mapping Tools − GMT) integriranog s QGIS-om za obradu i kartiranje skupova podataka: Opća batimetrijska karta oceana (General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans − GEBCO) i Gravitacijski model Zemlje 2008 (Earth Gravitational Model 2008 − EGM-2008). Full text linkNessebar is a World cultural heritage city located 30 km north of the city of Burgas. It is one of the major seaside resorts on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Due to the city’s abundance of historic buildings, UNESCO included Nessebar in its list of World Heritage Sites in 1983.This is the place where the 8th International Conference on Cartography (8ICCGIS) was held from 20 to 25 June 2022. The organizers were the Bulgarian Cartographic Association (BCA), the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) - Sofia and the International Cartographic Association with the support of Bulgarian Science Fund, Military Geographic Service and Municipality of Nessebar. The 8ICCGIS was dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and 10th Anniversary of the Bulgarian Cartographic Association.Nessebar je grad svjetske kulturne baštine koji se nalazi 30 km sjeverno od grada Burgasa. To je jedno od glavnih ljetovališta na južnoj bugarskoj obali Crnog mora. Zbog obilja povijesnih građevina u gradu, UNESCO je 1983. uvrstio Nessebar na svoj popis mjesta svjetske baštine.To je mjesto gdje je od 20. do 25. lipnja 2022. održana 8. međunarodna konferencija o kartografiji (8ICCGIS). The conference was held under the auspices of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and the University of Zagreb. The conference was supported by the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia, the Geographics journal, HERE Technologies Zagreb as the main sponsor, and Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. as a golden sponsor.Hrvatsko kartografsko društvo i Geodetski fakultet Sveučilišta u Zagrebu organizirali su 17. međunarodnu konferenciju o geoinformacijama i kartografiji od 23. do 25. rujna 2021. No full textThe paper describes the establishment of a webGIS pilot project in the city of Sinj, based on the research of the development of local spatial data infrastructure (LSDI) as described in the doctoral thesis (Marasović 2020). A set of LSDI development indicatorswere tested in the pilot project. The indicators to be tested were discovered in the mentioned doctoral thesis using statistical regression, statistical correlation and focus groups. The following key indicators have been identified: 1) funding from the local level, 2) awareness, 3) support for development from the decision makers, and 4) administration and citizens recognized as the main LSDI user groups. As an example of LSDI, most main stakeholders of the city of Sinj were interviewed and mapped according to their relevant capabilities, working processes and interaction between the main stakeholders. All the identified indicators were confirmed. The pilot project confirmed that the decision on investment in LSDI from the local level decision makers is essential for its implementation. For such a decision, raising the awareness of the decision makers and citizens about the benefits of LSDI is vital. Citizens and city administration were mapped as two stakeholders which interact most among the stakeholders. Delegating an employee responsible for the implementation and support from the decision makers during the implementation process are essential for success. Human Resources and Public Relationships management activities were recognized as very important in the process of raising awareness of LSDI. U radu je opisana uspostava pilot projekta webGIS rješenja u gradu Sinju bazirana na istraživanju razvoja lokalne infrastrukture prostornih podataka (LIPP) u doktorskom radu (Marasović 2020). Na uspostavljenom je pilot projektu testiran skup indikatora razvoja za daljnji razvoj LIPP-a. Indikatori koje je trebalo testirati otkriveni su u navedenom doktorskom radu koristeći statističku regresiju, statističku korelaciju i fokus grupe. To su: 1) financiranje s lokalne razine, 2) svijest o LIPP-u, 3) podrška razvoju od donositelja odluka i 4) administracija i građani prepoznati kao glavne grupe korisnika LIPP-a. Većina glavnih dionika grada Sinja intervjuirana je i shematski prikazana prema mogućnostima, radnim procesima, vrsti i intenzitetu interakcije između glavnih dionika. Svi su identificirani indikatori potvrđeni. Pilot projekt potvrdio je da je odluka o ulaganju u LIPP od donositelja odluka na lokalnoj razini bitna za provedbu. Za takvu je odluku ključno podizanje svijesti donositelja odluka i građana o prednostima LIPP-a. Građani i gradska uprava prikazani su na shemi kao dva dionika koja od svih dionika najviše komuniciraju. Odabir zaposlenika odgovornog za uspostavu sustava i podrška donositelja odluka tijekom procesa uspostave ključni su za uspjeh. Aktivnosti upravljanja ljudskim potencijalima i odnosima s javnošću prepoznate su kao vrlo važne u procesu podizanja svijesti o LIPP-u

Full text linkEmployees and students of the University of Zadar were saddened by the news that Prof. Mithad Kozličić Ph.D. died in Bihać on 15 August 2021. This ended the fruitful life of a scientist and professor who with his results indebted the Zadar and the entire Croatian academic community. He passed away a month and a half before his well-deserved retirement and, unfortunately, with the unfulfilled honorary position of professor emeritus, which, in accordance with the decision of the Senate of the University of Zadar, he should have enjoyed after retirement.Zaposlenike i studente Sveučilišta u Zadru zatekla je tužna vijest da je u Bihaću 15. kolovoza 2021. preminuo prof. dr. sc. Mithad Kozličić. Time je završio plodan životni put znanstvenika i profesora koji je svojim rezultatima zadužio zadarsku, ali i cijelu hrvatsku akademsku zajednicu. Preminuo je mjesec i pol dana prije zasluženog umirovljenja i, nažalost, s neostvarenom počasnom funkcijom professora emeritusa koju je, u skladu s odlukom Senata Sveučilišta u Zadru, trebao uživati nakon umirovljenja
