His mentor was Prof. Dr. Miodrag Roić and the other members of the Commission for the evaluation and defence of the dissertation were Prof. Dr. Zdravko Kapović (president), Prof. Dr. Vlado Cetl, Prof. Dr. Siniša Mastelić Ivić and Assist. Prof. Hrvoje Matijević.Boris Blagonić završio je doktorski studij na Geodetskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu 13. srpnja 2012. obranom doktorskog rada pod naslovom Katastar vodova u lokalnoj infrastrukturi prostornih podataka. Get PDFThe 10th UN Conference on Geographical Name Standardization was held in the United Nations (UN) in New York from July 31 to August 9, 2012. As usual, a session of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN) was held one day prior and one day after the conference. The 27th sessionwas held on July 30 and August 10, 2012. According to unofficial records, the conference was attended by 262 participants from 61 countries and 189 documents were presented. More about the conferences can be found at UN's officialweb site http://unstats.un.org/unsd/geoinfo/UNGEGN/ungegnConf10.html.Deseta konferencija UN-a o standardizaciji geografskih imena je održana od 31. srpnja do 9. kolovoza 2012. u Ujedinjenim narodima (UN) u New Yorku. Prema uobičajenoj praksi, dan prije konferencije i dan nakon konferencije održava se sjednica stalnog tijela UN-a za standardizaciju geografskih imena, United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN). To tijelo održalo je svoju 27. sjednicu 30. srpnja i 10. kolovoza 2012. Prema neslužbenoj evidenciji na konferenciji su bila prisutna 262 predstavnika iz 61 zemlje i podneseno je 189 dokumenata. This symposium was organized by several Commissions of the International Cartographic Association (ICA): the ICA Commission on Map Production and Geobusiness, the ICA Commission on Atlases, the ICA Commission on Map Projections, the ICA Commission on Maps and the Internet, the ICA Commission on Use and User Issues, the ICA Commission on Open Source Geospatial Technologies and the CIPA Task Group 2 "Open Source in use for the cultural heritage communication process", a part of the International Committee for Architectural Photogrammetry.Simpozij o uslužno-orijentiranom kartiranju SOMAP 2012 održan je u Beču, 22. i 23. studenoga 2012. u prostorijama Austrijskoga saveznog ureda za mjere i geodeziju (Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen). Simpozij je organiziralo nekoliko povjerenstava Međunarodnoga kartografskog društva (International Cartographic Association – ICA): Povjerenstvo o izradi karata i geoposlovanju, Povjerenstvo o atlasima, Povjerenstvo o kartografskim projekcijama, Povjerenstvo o kartografiji i internetu, Povjerenstvo o korisnicima i uporabi karata, Povjerenstvo o geoprostornim tehnologijama otvorenog izvora i Radna skupina CIPA-e "Otvoreni izvor u procesu povezivanja kulturne baštine", dio međunarodnog odbora za graditeljsku fotogrametriju
