Influencing Factors of Audience's Willingness to Consume of Outdoor Music Festival Based on Grounded Theory
This paper adopts grounded theory to conduct an exploratory study on the influencing factors of outdoor music festival audience's willingness to consume. First, we used 'music festival' as the search keyword to collect secondary information such as blog posts, online pictures, and news reports related to outdoor music festivals. Then, based on the previous research and the author's experience, this paper conducted ten one-on-one in-depth interviews and a group interview with the Nanjing Forest Music Festival in China as the field research object. On this basis, the article performed word frequency analysis and semantic network analysis on the text data and obtained keywords with high frequency and the core words in focus. MCCC’s Youtube Content Production Management for Covid-19 Education
Muhammadiyah Covid-19 Command Center (MCCC) is an institution established by the Muhammadiyah Central Board to become the center for handling the Covid-19 pandemic. This institution has effectively become a government collaborator in dealing with the pandemic. MCCC conducts health promotion by utilizing various media, including Youtube. This study found that MCCC has a professional standard in producing Youtube content. MCCC always conducts research before the production process. The research is conducted to determine the needs of the community. In the distribution process, MCCC tries to build interaction with the audience. Interaction is an important aspect of increasing engagement. In the end, this involvement is part of the process so that the public understands Covid-19
Instagram Content Impact on Digital Literacy Capability
Instagram has become a social media with many users. Previous research has shown that Instagram content is often associated with learning media, promotion, entertainment, and politics. The purpose of this study is to see the relationship between Instagram content and people's digital literacy skills. Using the correlational method, the survey respondents were followers of the @jabarsaberhoaks Instagram account, which reached 59.5 thousand. The results showed two main content elements of @jabarsaberhoaks visual aspects of photos and videos, as well as textual elements that accompanied the visuals. While the themes raised consist of seven themes, namely saberinfo, saberliteration, saberbudaya, saberquote, sabertainment, saberquiz, and sabermoment. The conclusion of this study is that hoax educational content on Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks has an impact on people's digital literacy levels
Checking the Fact-Checkers: Analyzing the Content of Fact-Checking Organizations as Initiatives for Hoax Eradication in Indonesia
Fact-checking practices are one of the initiatives to combat the spread of hoaxes. An organization called MAFINDO is one of Indonesia's pioneers of fact-checking initiatives. Using content analysis, this research was conducted to examine fact-checked articles published by MAFINDO. We classified the results based on themes, platform, and type of content from July 2015 to July 2020, during the first five years where MAFINDO has been operating. Our study found that, the number of hoaxes being checked increased every year during the period of analysis. Secondly, political themes dominate the entire fact-checking articles verified by MAFINDO. Furthermore, the majority of hoaxes circulated and verified by MAFINDO were predominantly found on Facebook. Finally, hoax mostly found in the form of non-video images and text. This study can be seen as part of the illustrations of the spread of hoaxes in Indonesia and used as a basis for various hoax prevention movement
Wearing Facemasks and Maintaining Social Distancing during COIVD-19 among people in the U.S.
This survey of 502 U.S. residents explored how people practiced wearing facemasks and maintaining social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using Health Benefit Model (HBM), the study found that perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived self-efficacy, perceived benefit, and perceived barrier were significant predictors of wearing facemasks while perceived severity, perceived self-Efficacy, and perceived benefit were significant predictors for maintaining social distancing. While women and people with higher education and higher income were more likely to wear facemasks than others, people of 40 years of age and above and those with higher income tended to maintain social distancing more than others. Participants did not have COVID-19 were more likely to wear facemask and maintain social distancing than those who already had the disease
Revealing Masculinity in BTS’s Music: Between Self Identity and Market Desire
Previous studies assessed that the Korean Wave, including the music group Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS), had campaigned for a different side of masculinity. BTS, through their music, seems to carry the concept of a "female-friendly model of masculinity". This feminine masculine identity is attached to BTS members and creates a typical stereotype of Asian men in the United States. This study aims to determine the representation of masculinity displayed by the boy group BTS in their video clips from 2013 to 2021 and observe at least 33 video clips. The researcher observed the symbol representation in the video clip with a Critical Discourse Analysis from Norman Fairclough and then conducted a thematic analysis by Braun and Clarke. The results showed a change in the representation of masculinity throughout their careers. News Production Management of CekFakta in Dealing with Hoax Outbreak Information on the Social Media
In the digital era, the competition of mass media leads to the practice of media economy as well as creativity in presenting news content. On the other hand, the mass media are challenged to deal with hoaxes. This study aims to find out how the management of news production at Tempo through the CekFakta page. This study uses qualitative methods with content analysis data collection techniques and in-depth interviews. Data collection through interviews with CekFakta journalists, article documentation and literature studies since 2021. The results of this study reveal that there are three important aspects that determine news products, namely the format, quality and content leverage. In terms of format, the news on the CekFakta page has a specificity conclusion the information circulating is true or not. There are three charts that make up the body of fact-checking news, first introduction to the viral information, secondly an explanation of the method of finding the truth of the information and the third stage is conclusions related to the information being studied. Consumer can understand easily the content of the information with the guide. In terms of quality, Tempo has a methodology that becomes the basic guideline for journalists to make news. The benefit aspect is done by disseminating the news through social media. In practice, to achieve these three aspects, fact-checking journalists work with the help of tools obtained through collaboration with external participants. In the era of media industrialization, the news agency has become a company that aims to make a profit. News, as a product of mass media companies must also be designed in such a way as to generate profits. Thus, the practice of journalism must also be adapted to the times. The Impacts of “A Plastic Ocean” Film on The Environmental Care Attitudes of Senior High School Students in Tangerang
This research examines the impacts of “A Plastic Ocean” film on the environmental care attitudes of Senior High School students at SMAN 2 Tangerang. This research proves that the social learning theory is effective to promote a campaign with film, which results in behavioral changes in society. The theory used in this research is Albert Bandura's social learning theory. This research utilized the positivistic paradigm. This research employed a survey explanatory method and quantitative approach. The population was Senior High school Students at SMAN 2 Tangerang. The sampling utilize a purposive sampling technique to 100 respondents, with a sampling error of 5%. The technique of data analysis utilized a simple regression analysis. The hypothesis how that there is no influence between the content of the “A Plastic Ocean” film on environmental care attitudes on students. High school students are interested in the film, while the attitude of caring for the environment is not influenced by the film
False Dichotomy: Building Awareness of Mass and Interpersonal Communication Convergence in the Era of Digital Technology in Indonesia
This paper is written as input for managers of higher education in Communication Studies in regards to the phenomenon of new digital communication technology development, as well as communication theory and research in Indonesia. While many communication scientists outside Indonesia have been talking about the importance of unifying the realms of mass and interpersonal communication theories in the era of digital technology, the teaching of communication theory in Indonesia has not accommodated such convergence. This has resulted in the absence of new/digital communication technologies in the existing communication research. Using the historical perspectives and previous works of communication scientists, a new perspective in the teaching of communication theory can be formulated, one that unifies the boundaries between mass and interpersonal communication. In addition, communication research that considers the presence of new communication technologies should also be pursued
Political and Educational Messages in Serambi Indonesia: A Framing Analysis
The existence of the media in social life is essential. Apart from providing a forum for distributing information, the media also play an important role to control the government performance. However, the media often frames reality and at the same time, published news from multiple angles; as this can affect the process of defining the truth constructed in their framing. This study analyzes the news framing published the Kuta Raja rubric, Serambi Indonesia daily in Aceh, especially those contain political and educational message. This present study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with the data collected from July to September 2020. The data were analyzed thematically and analytically in descriptive stages. The results indicate that the Kuta Raja rubric is often f shown by highlighting certain aspects of the news, such as displaying dominant political figures. In contrast, the educational information is not very significantly emphasized. Thus, it is necessary to have a balance in the reconstruction process of an event in order to avoid framing bias
