PENGARUH DOSIS INOKULUM AZOLLA DAN PUPUK KALIUM ORGANIK TERHADAP KETERSEDIAAN K DAN HASIL PADI PADA ALFISOL JUMANTONO
Title : The Effect of Azolla Inoculum Dosage and Organic Potassium Fertilizer on Potassium Availability and Rice Yield in Alfisol. This research conducted to determine the proper dose of azolla inoculum and organic potassium to increase the availability of potassium and increase yield of paddy rice,and to determine the best dose combination instead K availability. The research was conducted in May 2012 until November 2012 at Jumantono dryland research centre, Karanganyar regency and Chemical and Soil Fertility laboratory Agriculture Faculty UNS Solo. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using P as the treatment combination of Azolla inoculum and organic pottasium. For comparison is the treatment of manure and NPK fertilizer. The Variabel for this research are pottasium exchanged, CEC, organic matter, total N in the soil, dry weight of grain harvested and milled, and weight of 100 seeds. Data were analyzed by F test and DMRT at 5% level. The results showed that the combination dose of Azolla inoculum and organic potassium can increase the availability of potassium and rice yields on Alfisol soil. The research showed P8 (Combination of azolla inoculums 5 ton/ha and organic potassium 100 kg/ha) as the highest treatment.Padi (oryza sativa) merupakan bahan makanan pokok bagi rakyat Indonesia. Padi memiliki masalah dalam budidayanya salah satunya kurangnya unsur hara makro dan mikro dalam tanah. Tanaman padi memerlukan unsur hara terutama unsur hara Kalium (K). Efisiensi pemupukan sangat dipengaruhi oleh efisiensi serapan hara tanaman. Pemberian pupuk kalium organik dan inokulum azolla merupakan salah satu cara untuk memperbaiki unsur hara makro didalam tanah Alfisol yang umumnya memiliki unsur hara makro dan mikro yang rendah. Kalium menjadi salah satu faktor pembatas utama dalam usaha budidaya padi sawah karena tingkat efisiensi penyerapannya masih tergolong rendah. Pemanfaatan azolla disini sebagai pupuk organik memang memungkinkan bila dikembangkan. Pasalnya, bila dihitung dari berat keringnya dalam bentuk kompos, mengandung unsur Nitrogen (N) 3-5%, Phosphor (P) 0,5- 0,9% dan Kalium (K) 2-4,5%. Berdasarkan komposisi kimia tersebut, bila digunakan untuk pupuk mempertahankan kesuburan tanah, setiap hektar areal memerlukan azolla sejumlah 20 ton dalam bentuk segar, atau 6-7 ton berupa kompos (kadar air 15%) atau sekitar 1 ton dalam keadaan kering sehingga dapat mengurangi pemakaian pupuk kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengaplikasikan inokulum azolla dan kalium organik pada tanaman padi yang ditanam di tanah Alfisol. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan akan didapat suatu manfaat dan ilmu dalam pengembangan budidaya tanaman padi di tanah alfisol agar dapat menghasilkan produksi yang maksimum
KAJIAN KESESUAIAN DOLINE UNTUK BEBERAPA TANAMAN SEMUSIM DI DAERAH KARST GUNUNGSEWU DENGAN PENDEKATAN GEOMORFOLOGI (Studi kasus di kecamatan Ponjong dan Rongkop, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakata)
The observation has a goal to obtain the answer on land problem at Ponjong and Rongkop Districts which lie on Gunungsewu area based on geomorphology approach. The case which is being observed is it low of seasonal agriculture result in that area has a relation to the land. As we know that the area (gunungsewu karst topography) has specifi cation for doline and connical hills.
The observation is done by using geomorphology survey approach which emphasizes to some aspects: land form, soils, geomorphology process, interview and bibliography. Population in the observation is karst topography and karst farmers and for the sample are doline and karst farmers (land owners) that have been choosen based on purposive. And for the land sample was appointed based on geomorpho-doline character observation. In analyzing the doliize used qualitative and quantitative methods by matching between land quality and seasonal plants growth requirenments (gogo ewe, corn, peanut and soya bean).
The observation result was known that : (1) doline has marginal land for the seasonal plants (gogo rice, corn, peanut and soya bean) with main limit factor is lack ofphosphor, (2) karst farmer cultivate and fertilize still traditional ways only in soils crack depth (x < 25 cm) and was done in fourth season (18th September- 12th October) so in fifth season (13th October - 8th November) gogo rice, peanut and soya bean seeds begin growing, (3) the best plant pattern is tumpangsari but in making the pattern of plant has to be tried by seeing the doline contour to the center of doline
SISTEM TUMPANGSARI DAN INTEGRASI TERNAK TERHADAP PERUBAHAN SIFAT FISIK DAN KIMIA TANAH DI TANAH LITOSOL
Title : Intercropping and Livestock Integration System : Changes in Physical and Chemical Properties of Litosol. Study sites located in the village Geneng duwur, District Gemolong, Sragen regency, Central Java with litosol soil type. Study sites are located between 7 º 23'10 "latitude and 7 º 23'17" latitude and 110 º 50'28 "E to 110 º 50'24" E with altitude between 150 masl to 155 masl. The experiment was conducted in February 2010 to November 2010. The purpose of the study: (1) Knowing the integrated effect of intercropping with cattle on soil physical properties, (2) Knowing the effect of intercropping systems are integrated with livestock on soil chemical properties. The study design used in this study is complete randomized block design consisting of two factors: factor 1: integration of cattle consisting of 4 standard (I0 = no cattle integration (0 years); I1 = 1 year of integration of cattle ; I2 = integration of cattle 2 years; I3 = integration of cattle 3 years) and factor 2: cropping system consisting of a 3 stage (K = monoculture cropping systems with groundnut crop; J = monoculture cropping systems with corn; KJ = cropping system intercropped with maize crop peanuts). Research results indicate that: (1) intercropping system does not significantly affect the improvement of soil physical properties include: soil density, volume weight of soil, field capacity, porosity; integration of livestock significantly affect the improvement of soil physical properties include: density of the soil, volume weight of soil, field capacity and soil porosity, (2) intercropping system did not significantly affect the chemical properties of soil improvement which include: soil organic matter, total soil N and soil pH; integration of livestock significantly affect the chemical properties of soil improvement material covering soil organic matter, total soil N and soil pH.Lokasi penelitian terletak di Desa Geneng Duwur, Kecamatan Gemolong, Kabupaten Sragen, Jawa Tengah dengan jenis tanah Litosol. Lokasi penelitian terletak antara 7º23’10” LS sampai 7º23’17” LS dan 110º50’28” BT sampai 110º50’24” BT dengan ketinggian tempat antara 150 mdpl sampai 155 mdpl. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Februari 2010 sampai dengan November 2010. Tujuan penelitian : (1) Mengetahui pengaruh sistem tumpangsari yang diintegrasikan dengan ternak terhadap sifat fisik tanah; (2) Mengetahui pengaruh sistem tumpangsari yang diintegrasikan dengan ternak terhadap sifat kimia tanah. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap yang terdiri dari 2 faktor, yaitu : faktor 1 : integrasi ternak sapi yang terdiri dari 4 taraf (I0 = tanpa integrasi ternak sapi (0 tahun); I1 = integrasi ternak sapi 1 tahun; I2 = integrasi ternak sapi 2 tahun; I3 = integrasi ternak sapi 3 tahun) dan faktor 2 : sistem tanam yang terdiri dari 3 taraf (K = sistem tanam monokultur dengan tanaman kacang tanah; J = sistem tanam monokultur dengan tanaman jagung; KJ = sistem tanam tumpangsari tanaman kacang tanah dengan jagung). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Sistem tumpangsari tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perbaikan sifat fisik tanah yang meliputi : berat jenis tanah, berat volume tanah, kapasitas lapang , porositas; integrasi ternak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perbaikan sifat fisik tanah yang meliputi : berat jenis tanah, berat volume tanah, kapasitas lapang , dan porositas tanah; (2) Sistem tumpangsari tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perbaikan sifat kimia tanah yang meliputi : bahan organik tanah, N total tanah dan pH tanah; integrasi ternak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perbaikan sifat kimia tanah yang meliputi bahan organik tanah, N total tanah dan pH tanah
KAJIAN EFEKTIFITAS PENGENDALIAN HAMA PADI SECARA ALAMI DENGAN SEMUT PREDATOR YANG BERSARANG DI TANAH (Solenopsis geminata (F))
Title : The Study of the effectiveness of Rice Pest Control naturally by Solenopsis geminata (F) as Soil Biological Agents. The research on Rice Pest Control with Soil Biological Agents Solenopsis geminata (F) has been implemented in the Karanganyar Region consists four districts. The districts are Karanganyar, Jumantono, Karangpandan, and Tasikmadu. The research was conducted by survey methods and field experiments. The study was conducted on paddy field with an average daily temperature of 32 ° C, and at 150 -350 m altitude above sea level. The main objective of this study was to determine the distribution and diversity of insects in the paddy field in Karanganyar. The locations were district of Jumantono, Karangpandan, and Tasikmadu. The results showed that the insect was in the vegetative phase in rice planting Karangpandan had 13 kinds of insects with the diversity index of Shannon-Weaner was 1.63, while for the district that the highest of diversity index value was Tasikmadu district by 2, 33 with the number of insects was 14. In the paddy field at generative phase, the lowest of index diversity was Karanganyar by 2,01; while the highest was in district of Karangpandan at 2,19.Penelitian tentang Kajian Efektifitas Pengendalian Hama Padi dengan Agens Hayati Solenopsis geminata (F) secara alami telah dilaksanakan di Wilayah Kabupaten Karanganyar meliputi empat kecamatan, yaitu Kecamatan Karanganyar, Jumantono, Karangpandan, dan Tasikmadu dengan menggunakan metode survei dan percobaan lapangan. Penelitian dilakukan pada pertanaman padi yang ditanam di daerah yang memiliki temperatur harian rata-rata 32 oC, yaitu pada daerah ketinggian 150 -350 m di atas permukaan laut. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sebaran, keragaman, dan efektifitas pengendalian semut predator yang bersarang di tanah (Solenopsis geminata (F)) terhadap pertanaman padi yang ada di wilayah Kecamatan Karanganyar, Jumantono, Karangpandan, dan Tasikmadu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa serangga yang ada di pertanaman padi fase vegetatif di Karangpandan memiliki 13 jenis serangga dengan indeks keragaman menurut Shanon-Weaner yang paling rendah yaitu 1,63; sedangkan untuk kecamatan yang memiliki nilai indeks keragaman yang tinggi adalah Kecamatan Tasikmadu yang mencapai 2,33 dengan jumlah jenis serangga adalah 14. Pada pertanaman padi fase generatif indeks keragaman yang terendah adalah di Kecamatan Karanganyar dengan nilai 2.01; sedangkan yang tertinggi terdapat pada pertanaman padi di Kecamatan Karangpandan

Title : Rice-field Cultivation Continuously was Accelerated Soil Weathering. This research was aimed to find out the existence of soil acceleration development indication as the result of the cultivation which was done continuously and for a long period. This research was done by analyzing soil samples which were taken from non-rice-field soil and cultivated soil which had been used for 20 years, 30 years, and 40 years in cultivation intensity once a year, twice a year and three times a year. Those analyzed soils had the same primary substances. The sand and clay content in the soil was chosen as the indicator of the soil weathering acceleration because of rice-field cultivation. From the data gathered, it was analyzed the connection with the cultivation length and cultivation pattern through the similarities of correlation and regression. The research result showed that: soil which was used continuously and for a long period would tend to decrease the sand content but increase the clay content in the soil. The increase of clay and the decrease of sand in the soil indicated the high soil weathering intensity which would fasten the soil development. Therefore, it is suggested that it is not needed to do puddling phase while land preparation phase, because puddling tend to mineral weathering, and if it is possible cultivation by no tillage soil system could be done. Title : The Effect of Cow Manure with Biodecompocer and Inorganic Fertility to Efficiency of K Absorption and Yield of Paddy (Oryza sativa L.) on Paddy Field Palur Sukoharjo. This research was conducted from January–August 2008 in paddy field, Palur Sukoharjo. The aim of this research were to know the effect of cow manure with Biodecompocer and inorganic fertilizer to K uptake efficiency and the rice yield (Oryza sativa L.) in paddy field Palur Sukoharjo. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was dosage cow manure consist of 7 levels i.e.: B0 (no cow manure), B1 (2.5 t.ha-1cow manure), B2 (5 t.ha-1 cow manure), B3 (2.5 t.ha-1 +stardec), B4 (5 t.ha-1+stardec), B5 (2.5 t.ha-1 +earthworm), B6 (5 t.ha-1 +earthworm). The second factor was Inorganic fertilizer consist of 3 levels i.e.: (without inorganic fertilizer) A0; (Urea 150 kg.ha-1, ZA 50 kg.ha-1, SP36 dosage 75 kg.ha-1 and KCl 50 kg.ha-1) A1; and (Urea 300 kg.ha-1, ZA 100 kg.ha-1, SP36 150 kg.ha-1 and KCl 100 kg.ha-1) A2. Data was analyzed with F-tested level 1% and 5% or Kruskal Wallis test, and continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test 5% (DMRT 5%) or mood median, and correlation test to know relation between observation variable. The result of this research shows that the highest efficiency of K uptake was achieved at 2.5 t.ha-1 cow manure+stardec and Urea 300 kg.ha-1, ZA 100 kg.ha-1 , SP36 150 kg.ha-1 and KCl 100 kg.ha-1 its 4.67%. The highest weight of 1,000 seed was achieved at 5 t.ha-1 cow manure+earthworm and without inorganic fertilizer its 28.79 gr. The highest weight of dry yield rice was achieved (GKG) at 5 t.ha-1 cow manure+stardec and Urea 150 kg.ha-1, ZA 50 kg.ha-1, SP36 75 kg.ha-1 and KCl 50 kg.ha-1) its 11.5 kg.18 m -2 6.39 t.ha-1. KAJIAN KONSERVASI TANAH KRITIS BERDASARKAN SATUAN LAHAN DI DAERAH TANGKAPAN AIR SEMPOR KABUPATEN KEBUMEN
Title : Study of Critical Soil Conservation Based on Land Unit on Sempor’s Catchment Area, Kebumen Regency. This research aims to predict critical soil and soil erosion level of Sempor’s Catchment Area and to recommend the management according to soil conservation.This is an explorative descriptive research based on environment data. The data are obtained from field observation and result of laboratory analysis of soil samples taken from field survey. Furthermore, the data are classified based on critical soil classification to get critical soil map. The data also are calculated based on USLE to get soil erosion prediction. The results of soil erosion prediction are grouped based on erosion hazard levels and result of soil erosion mapping. After knowing critical soil and soil erosion level in each land unit, recommendation is made to manage land according to soil conservation.The result shows that on observation area with total extent 4,333.68 ha there are criticalsoil about 1,373.68 ha (31.70 %), semi critical about 2,164.54 ha (49.95 %), potentially critical about 440.46 ha (10.16 %) and the others are about 355.00 ha (8.19 %) in the form of settlement and reservoir located at the outside of the observation area. The soil erosion predicted on observation area are divided into 6 classes, those are very low erosion class at about 103.90 ha (2.40 %), low erosion class at about 332.00 ha (7.66 %), moderate erosion class at about 953.78 ha (22.01 %), high erosion class at about 247.53 ha (5.71 %), very high erosion class at about 2,108.50 ha (48.65 %), acute erosion class at about 232.96 ha (5.38 %) and the others are out of observation area. Topography and land management are factors that have the most dominant influence to soil erosion prediction. Total soil erosion on observation area is about 320,958.016 tons/ha or soil erosion average about 74.061 tons/ha/year. The recommendation is to restore critical and erosion through some actions such as reboization or planting with annual crop, vegetation nursery, adding organic matter via organic fertilizer or organic mulches, making and maintaining of terrace and ditches, and agroforestry.Keywords: critical soil, erosion, Sempor, soil coservationThis research aims to predict critical soil and soil erosion level of Sempor’s Catchment

Title : Suppressive Soil in Practices of Plant Disease Management. A lot of plant disease is caused by soilborne pathogens which various damage symptom and loss of the crop. In some fields, the disease intensity was severe, in some other fields however the disease was suppressive. The second phenomenon is called suppressive soil. The suppressive soil is a natural biological control that is usefull as basis in developing control of the soilborne pathogens. In the practice, the disease control based on the suppressive soil could be accomplished by habitat management through technique culture practices to enhance activity of the endogenous biological control agents and or introduction one or more antagonists from endogenouse or exogenous microbes. The disease control has many advantages such save in the environment and enhance the product value due to the acceptance in the global market. It implicats that the disease control approach is compatible with concept of the integrated pest management (IPM) and sustainable agriculture system. PENGARUH DOSIS KOMPOS AZOLLA DAN KALIUM ORGANIK TERHADAP KETERSEDIAAN KALIUM DAN HASIL KACANG TANAH PADA ALFISOL
Title : The Effect of Azolla Compost and Organic Pottasium Fertilizer Dosages on Pottasium Availability and Yield of Peanut on Alfisol. Production of groundnut can not meet the national demand right now. One of the reason is the degradation in soil fertility, such as potassium deficiency and low of soil organic matter content. Plants that has potassium-deficiency can not utilize water and nutrients from the soil efficiently. In organic farming system, soil exchangeable-potassium and organic matter content can be increase by the application of plant ash as organic potassium and azolla compost. The research conducted to determine the proper dose of azolla compost and organic potassium to increase exchangeable-potassium and yield of groundnut on Alfisol soil at Jumantono, Karanganyar District, Central Java, Indonesia. The experiment was arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with single treatment factor of azolla compost and organic pottasium combination (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8) as well as manure and NPK fertilizer treatments. The Variables using in this experiment are K exchanged, CEC, Organic Matter, Total N, pH, plant height, fresh weight and dry stover, fresh weight, dry and number of pods, weight and number of seeds. Data were analyzed by F test and DMRT at 5% level. The land use media as much as 5 kg per polybag with 3 number plants per poybag, and in the second week we used to thinning the plants. Everyday we also doing watering and weeding. The observation were made every week until phase of generatif The results showed the application of azolla compost and organic potassium can increase exchangeable-potassium and yield of groundnut in Alfisol soil. The highest exchangeable-pottasium (0.53me%) taken from the treatment of P7. Moreover the application of azolla compost and organic potassium increased CEC, soil organic matter content, total-N soil as well as shoot fresh and dry weight of peanut.Produksi kacang tanah di Indonesia masih belum mampu menutupi kebutuhan nasional. Rendahnya produktivitas ini salah satunya disebabkan oleh penurunan tingkat kesuburan tanah. Tanaman yang kekurangan kalium tidak dapat memanfaatkan air dari tanah dan hara secara efisien. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kandungan kalium didalam tanah adalah dengan memberikan pupuk kalium organik berupa abu sekam dan juga kompos azolla. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui dosis yang tepat dari kompos azolla dan kalium organik untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan kalium dan meningkatkan hasil tanaman kacang tanah pada tanah alfisol. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) P sebagai kombinasi kompos azolla dan dan kalium organik. Sebagai pembanding adalah perlakuan pupuk kandang dan pupuk NPK. Variabel yang diamati antara lain K tertukar, KTK, BO, N Total, pH, tinggi tanaman, berat segar dan kering brangkasan, berat segar, kering dan jumlah polong, berat dan jumlah biji. Data dianalisis dengan uji F taraf 5% dilanjutkan uji DMRT taraf 5%. Pada pelaksanaan digunakan media tanah sebanyak 5 kg per polybag dengan jumlah 3 tanaman per polybag lalu dilakukan penjarangan tanaman pada minggu kedua. Penyiraman dan pembersihan gulma tanaman dilakukan setiap hari, sementara pengamatan dilakukan setiap satu minggu hingga memasuki fase generarif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan pemberian kompos azolla dan kalium organik dapat meningkatkan ketersediaan kalium pada tanah alfisol dan mampu meningkatkan hasil dari kacang tanah. Pada parameter K tertukar hasil tertinggi menunjukan pada perlakuan P7 yaitu 0,53 me%. Selain itu pemberian kompos azolla dan kalium organik memberikan peningkatan terhadap kadar KTK, bahan organik, N total dalam tanah dan meningkatkan berat segar dan kering brangkasan kacang tanah
