    <p>This record contains the newly-implemented Matlab source function used to compute the Generalized Frequency Hough transform. This method is used within the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration for long-duration gravitational waves from newly-born neutron stars. The core of this transform has been optimized using the work done in the flagship use case 2.3.1 of the ICSC Spoke 2 project.</p&gt

    INFN Cloud Kubeflow as a Platform (KaaP) and Use Cases

    <div> <p>Kubeflow is an open-source Machine Learning (ML) platform built on Kubernetes providing a comprehensive set of tools to manage every step of the ML lifecycle.</p> <p>With Kubeflow, you can design, build, deploy and maintain an ML solution, therefore managing the end-to-end ML lifecycle.</p> <p>INFN Cloud offers a "Kubernetes Cluster" PaaS service, we aim to enrich this service with an additional option to configure and deploy a Kubeflow instance on top of it, adding therefore "Kubeflow as a Platform" - <strong>KaaP</strong> - to the INFN Cloud portfolio.</p> <p>In this presentation we provide a general introduction to Kubeflow, then we present a use case that we are developing within the INFN Information Systems Department (DSI): a fully hosted QA system - <strong>ChatBot</strong> - powered by a Large Language Model (LLM) that assists users with questions about the INFN LibroFirma application.</p> <p>The ChatBot is built using KaaP components:</p> <ul> <li>Kubeflow Notebooks: JupyterLab instances to develop and test python code;</li> <li>Kubeflow Pipelines: a multi-stage pipeline that periodically fetches and indexes new tickets from LibroFirma ServiceDesk to keep the ChatBot knowledge base up to date;</li> <li>KServe: model serving platform that exposes text embeddings and chat completion endpoints;</li> <li>Kotaemon: an open-source project to implement the QA system.</li> </ul> <p>The LibroFirma use-case, developed on top of KaaP, provides a reference implementation that can be customized to implement a QA system on any knowledge base.</p> </div&gt

    Cold-atom quantum simulators of gauge theories

    Gauge theories constitute the basis of the Standard Model and provide useful descriptions of various phenomena in condensed matter. Realizing gauge theories on tunable tabletop quantum devices such as cold-atom quantum simulators offers the possibility to study their dynamics from first principles and to probe effects that are out of reach of dedicated particle colliders, such as deviations from gauge invariance. These quantum simulators can potentially provide insights into high-energy and nuclear physics questions, while also serving as a versatile tool for the exploration of topological phases and ergodicity-breaking mechanisms relevant to low-energy many-body physics. Recent years have seen substantial progress in the implementation of (1 + 1)D Abelian gauge theories using ultracold atoms. In this Review, we chronicle these advances, highlighting key developments in stabilizing gauge invariance and scaling up from basic building blocks to large-scale realizations where gauge-theory phenomena can be probed. We offer an outlook on future directions and the requirements for advancing this technology to the next level
