    CONTRIBUTION OF COCONUT COMMODITY TO THE ECONOMY OF NORTH BOLAANG MONGONDOW REGENCY

    North Bolaang Mongondow  Regency is one of the regencies in North Sulawesi Province which relies on coconut as one of its leading commodities. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of coconut farming to the economy of the North Bolaang Mongondow Regency. This study used secondary data obtained from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) local office and other related agencies. The analysis used in this study was Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and Shift Share analysis. Based on the analysis, it was found that the Agriculture Sector, Plantation Sub-Sector and Coconut Commodities were among the basic sectors in North Bolaang Mongondow  Regency, so that they could contribute to drive the regional economy.  However, the coconut commodity still had low competitiveness due to the low and fluctuating prices

    This research aims to analyze the labor absorption of the stilt house industry in Tombasian Atas Village, West Kawangkoan District. The research was conducted from February to May 2021. The data used in this study were primary data and secondary data and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the stilt house industry in Tombasian Atas Village, Kawangkoan Barat District consisted of 3 (three) types, namely type 1 room, type 2 room, and type 3 room. The production of each type consists of 32 units per year for the one bedroom type, 40 units per year for the two bedroom type, and 10 units per year for the three bedroom type. The one-room stilt house type can absorb 51 workers, the two-room type absorbs 87 workers, and the three-room type absorbs 51 workers

    This study aims to analyze the feasibility of developing natural tourism in the Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park at the Bolonsio Camping Ground location. This research was conducted from February to March 2021. The research method used is the data collected consisting of Primary Data and Secondary Data, which were obtained by several methods, namely field observation methods, interview methods and literature studies. The results of the assessment show that the study location is feasible to be developed even though there are still quite a lot of things concerning the implementation or practice of ecotourism, which are classified as not being optimally carried out in natural tourism objects that are being studied and require improvement and improvement of various factors included in the aspect of accessibility. This is of course a separate homework for managers of tourism objects, in order to make efforts to develop natural tourism that pays attention to aspects of tourism management that actually carry out the principles of ecotourism

    This research aims to analyze the level of  income disparity of oil palm farmers in Sei Jawi-Jawi Village, Panai Hulu District, Labuhan Batu Regency. This research was conducted from April to May 2021. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained by direct interview to 38 respondents using  questionnaires. secondary data obtained from government agencies, or institutions related to this research. The research is carried out by using surveys method and data analysis used to calculate the level of  income disparity of farmers was the Gini Ratio and World Bank. The research result showed  that the level of income disparity of oil palm farmers, based on Gini Ratio, was 0.32 and 0,28, which was in low category

    This study aims to identify and describe the local wisdom of lowland rice farming in Taratara Village. This research has been going on for 3 (three) months starting from February to April 2020, in Taratara Village, West Tomohon District, Tomohon City. This research was conducted in a survey using primary data obtained through in-depth interviews using a list of questions as a prepared guide, also through documentation and secondary data obtained from the village office. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis which is described / expressed in words. Then the data obtained is presented in tabular form. The results showed that the local wisdom of lowland rice farming in the Taratara Village community at the time of land preparation, namely, a) worked before sunrise; b) using traditional tools (hoe, pajeko and rake); c) not clearing the edges of land (litir) and local wisdom that is still being applied today is wisdom c) not clearing litir (land edges), while a) and b) are extinct or not being used anymore. Local wisdom in nurseries, namely, a) selecting superior seeds; b) choosing the middle month (a good time) and what is still being done is b) choosing superior seeds. Local wisdom on land cultivation, namely, a) using traditional tools, namely pacol (hoe), pajeko, and garu; b) leveling the land, making the soil perfectly muddy and local wisdom at this stage is still being carried out today. Local wisdom at the planting stage, namely, a) mapalus farming; b) determine a good day (middle month); c) pray to the ancestors in the local language of Tombulu; d) not shouting when planting, and to all local wisdom this is no longer done at the planting stage. Local wisdom at the maintenance stage, namely, a) using traditional tools such as pacol (hoe), peda (sickle) and garu; c) using natural fertilizers (rotting grass and manure); d) using a scarecrow and a neigh (a tin filled with stones); d) methods and habits of irrigating lowland rice and local wisdom that are no longer practiced is b) using natural fertilizers. Local wisdom at the harvest stage, namely, a) singing the song of thanksgiving (ma'zani); b) mapalus farmer; c) determine a good day (middle month); d) customary practices at harvest; and what is still being done is d) customary ways of harvesting. Local wisdom is still maintained because there are still peasant communities who respect culture and customs, while local wisdom is not practiced such as mapalus peasants and ma'zani chants, this local wisdom strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and a high sense of cohesiveness because local wisdom is carried out together and in groups, but because of the modern technology that entered the farmers absorb and get a more efficient time in the process of cultivating lowland rice. The advantages of farmers in maintaining local wisdom until now is to strengthen the ties of brotherhood among the community and continue to preserve culture so that it is not lost due to the entry of modern culture

    This study aims to analyze the biophysical potential of the Kali Tahapan Telu Waterfall area. The research was conducted in August 2020 at Kali Tahapan Telu Waterfall, Kali Village, Pineleng District, North Sulawesi. This study uses a survey method for primary data collection, namely by conducting interviews with parties related to the management of this natural tourism area, as well as direct observation in the tourist area of Kali Tahapan Telu Waterfall and the surrounding environment on aspects of tourist attraction, accessibility, accommodation, and facilities. and tourism support infrastructure. Secondary data were obtained from existing references and agencies. Data analysis used in this study was the scoring technique. The results showed that this natural tourism area has biophysical potential which is the ability, strength of the biotic and physical environment that the area has which allows it to be developed into. The attraction for visitors to come and enjoy this tourist area is as follows. The tourist area of Kali Tahapan Telu Waterfall has 2 (two) types of fauna that are endemic to North Sulawesi and 4 (four) types of flora that characterize the North Sulawesi area. In addition, there are several good views towards the outside of the tourist attraction and an attractive good view between parts of the tourist attraction. Based on the results of the biophysical potential analysis using the scoring technique, it was found that the results of the biophysical potential of Kali Tahapan Telu Waterfall were in the medium category. The development of biophysical potential can be done by planting several types of endemic plants in and around tourist areas to increase attractiveness by increasing the diversity of natural resources that can be enjoyed, especially endemic species that have characteristics in tourist areas while carrying out conservation efforts, as well as being a vehicle for education about sources. local power. In addition, the development of biophysical potential can also be done by adding infrastructure in the form of viewing posts or gazebo with local architectural, as well as attractive landscape designs to add beauty and support the potential view. Regarding the increase in the use value of agricultural land indirectly, the existence of community agricultural land around the area planted with plants that have regional characteristics of North Sulawesi, namely cloves, coconut, palm and nutmeg are utilized and supported by landscape designs in natural tourism areas that frame and strengthen the scenery so that it adds to tourist attraction. In addition, the increase in the use value of agricultural land is directly and simultaneously in line with community empowerment, namely the processing of parts of community agricultural land products that are not traded to be developed into souvenirs which have not been provided until now. Community empowerment is also carried out by involving the surrounding community in increasing tourist attractions, namely by tourist attractions, especially regional cultural attractions

    This study aims to analysis the supply chain mechanism for the cayenne pepper commodity in the Bersehati Market of Manado City during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from observations, direct interviews, and interviews via WhatsApp with traders, consumers, and service providers in the Bersehati market. Secondary data were collected and obtained from employees in the Bersehati Market. The sampling method was carried out using the purposive sampling method (deliberately), namely selecting sources of information in the Bersehati Market. Number of sample used in this study was taken 10 respondents divided into 5 retailers, 3 consumers, 1 service provider, 1 market officer. This study uses descriptive analysis which is an analytical method used to determine the supply chain mechanism of cayenne pepper. The results showed that the supply chain mechanism for the cayenne pepper commodity in the Bersehati Market during the Covid-19 pandemic was related to product flows, financial flows and information flows that had differences in each flow. During the pandemic, there were 6 links that played an active role in the supply chain for the chili commodity at the Bersehati Market

    This study aims to determine the added value of coconut coir in the processing industry of PT. Berkat Abadi Korindo, Bitung City. This research was conducted at PT Berkat Abadi Korindo Bitung City from January to March 2020. The location was determined purposively with the consideration that PT. Berkat Abadi Korindo is the only company that processes coconut coir into “Fish Net†products in North Sulawesi. The type of data used in this study is primary data obtained through direct interviews with company owners using a list of data requirements that have been prepared as well as direct observations about conditions in the field during the analysis period. The research data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using added value analysis. The results of this study indicate the coconut coir processing industry of PT. Berkat Abadi Korindo, Matuari Sub-District, Bitung City provides added value of more than 0 or Rp. 2,331.14 from every 1 kg of coconut husk to 0.16 kg of "Fish Net"

    CURAHAN WAKTU KERJA PEREMPUAN DALAM PROSES PEMBUATAN KOPRA DI KELURAHAN PANDU KECAMATAN BUNAKEN KOTA MANADO

    This study aims to determine the time allocation of women in the copra-making process in Pandu Village, Bunaken Sub-district, Manado City. The research was conducted from November 2020 to January 2021. The data used were primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through interviews using a questionnaire to 20 respondents, while secondary data was obtained from the Pandu Village Office. Furthermore, the data collected was analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average time spent by women in Pandu Village, Bunaken District, Manado City in one copra-making process was 51.85 hours. Meanwhile, the work time for men was 71.20 hours. In other words, the time spent working for women in making copra was 42.14% of the total time spent working for men and women. The largest proportion of women's involvement is in the chopping sub-process which reaches 47.66%
