STUDI EFEKTIFITAS PENGGUNAAN TUNED MASS DAMPER PADA STRUKTUR GEDUNG DALAM MEREDUKSI RESPONS DINAMIK AKIBAT BEBAN SEISMIK
One of the approaches to reduce excessive oscillation on buildings due to dynamic forces is by
installing a mechanical device called tuned mass damper (TMD). This paper presents a study on the
effectiveness of TMDs installed on the top story of 1, 5, 10, and 15-story buildings excited by
earthquake accelerograms of El Centro 1940, Denpasar 1981, and Pacoima 1971. Two-dimensional
linear-elastic shear building model with TMD on the top is used in performing dynamic analysis. The
effectiveness of the TMD is evaluated by comparing the responses: displacement, inter-story drift, and
acceleration, with and without TMD. The results of the study show that the responses are generally
damped. However, in some cases the responses could be larger, thus using of TMD for reducing
seismic response should be reconsidered.
Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia :
THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECT COALITION IN THE UK CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY A CONCEPTUAL OPTIMISATION MODEL
The UK construction industry has long been criticised for engendering adversarial relationships among project participants. The nature of interrelationships ultimately determines overall project performance%2C in terms of finished product%2C and levels of performance and satisfaction for the participants. To investigate these interrelationships%2C the performance and satisfaction of each individual participant must be considered. Better understanding of the interrelationships should help reduce adversarialsm and improve the performance and satisfaction of each participant. The possible interrelationships that may exist are discussed based on %91soft knowledge%92 approaches%2C i.e. psychology%2C organisational behaviour and sociology. It is concluded that the performance of each participant is interdependent and essential towards project performance. Two levels of satisfaction%2C which determine the quality of working relationships between participants%2C are postulated. The first level of satisfaction %28i.e. satisfaction on achieving organisational objectives%29 is%2C to some extent%2C dependent on the second level of satisfaction %28i.e. satisfaction on the performance of the other participants%29. Therefore%2C within the construction project coalition%2C each participant has to be satisfied with the performance of the other participants if harmonious working relationships are to be sustained. Based on these%2C a conceptual model for optimising the relationships between main participants of the project coalition is presented. PENGARUH KEGIATAN PERPARKIRAN DI BADAN JALAN TERHADAP KINERJA RUAS JALAN STUDI KASUS JALAN KERTAJAYA
On-street parking could reduce road capacity, and the extra cost due to traffic congestion is
incomparable with the income that is gained from the parking sector. Surveys are conducted in the
afternoon and evening peak hours when traffic and number of parked vehicle are at maximum. Based
on the survey data the existing road capacity is obtained by analyzing the road segment performance,
while the extra cost that should be bore by users of Kertajaya caused by on-street parking is obtained
using vehicle operation cost and time value analysis.
A parking price simulation gives an optimum combination of a fix and progressive price. For
afternoon peak hours a fix price of Rp.3000 for the first hour, and progressive price of Rp.1000 for the
next hour, while for evening peak hours a fix price of Rp.2500 for the first hour, and progressive price
of Rp.500 for every two hours, are needed to balance the loss due to vehicle operation cost and time
value.

yaitu tarif tetap Rp.3000 per satu jam pertama, tarif progresif Rp.1000 per satu jam berikutnya

ANALISA WHAT IF SEBAGAI METODE ANTISIPASI KETERLAMBATAN DURASI PROYEK
A project network is composed of various activities interrelated in a sequencial relationship. If delay occurs on one activity, it will eventually cause the project overall duration to delay. To anticipate the project delays one could accelarate the succeeding activity in the network.
Critical Path Method (CPM) is a management tool which is widely used in the construction project. In this study “what if” analysis is used to anticipate project delays by accelarating the activities on CPM schedule. The accelaration actions are treated in accordance with additional working hours and man-power in the succeeding activities

BINDER DRAINAGE TEST FOR POROUS MIXTURES MADE BY VARYING THE MAXIMUM AGGREGATE SIZES
Binder drainage occurs with mixes of small aggregate surface area particularly porous asphalt. The binder drainage test, developed by the Transport Research Laboratory, UK, is commonly used to set an upper limit on the acceptable binder content for a porous mix. This paper presents the results of a laboratory investigation to determine the effects of different binder types on the binder drainage characteristics of porous mix made of various maximum aggregate sizes 20, 14 and 10 mm. Two types of binder were used, conventional 60/70 pen bitumen, and styrene butadiene styrene (SBS) modified bitumen. The amount of binder lost through drainage after three hours at the maximum mixing temperature were measured in duplicate for mixes of different maximum sizes and binder contents. The maximum mixing temperature adopted depends on the types of binder used. The retained binder is plotted against the initial mixed binder content, together with the line of equality where the retained binder equals the mixed binder content. The results indicate the significant contribution of using SBS modified bitumen to increase the target bitumen binder content. Their significance is discussed in terms of target binder content, the critical binder content, the maximum mixed binder content and the maximum retained binder content values obtained from the binder drainage test. It was concluded that increasing maximum aggregate sizes decrease the maximum retained binder content, critical binder content, target binder content, maximum mixed binder content, and mixed content for both binders, but however for all mixtures, SBS is the highest
A REVIEW OF FACTORS AFFECTING BUILDING DEFECTS IN SINGAPORE
In developing countries, building maintenance technology is currently vastly underrated and ignored by owners, managers, and professionals. The building and construction authority of Singapore (BCA) has identified that the complaints about building defects have gone up in recent years with common problems such as leaky roof and walls, floor defect, and improper outlet pipe. This paper presents a brief description on building defect in use for commercial building as well as residential buildings in Singapore. The main objective is to highlight the important problems and suggest a greater participation of professionals in building maintenance. It also provides some site investigations photographs of various defects, which is expected to be useful for builders, architects, and others who deal with building materials
TINJAUAN TERHADAP PEMBATASAN DIMENSI TEMBOK PENGISI YANG MENERIMA BEBAN MUKA AKIBAT GEMPA
In order to anticipate the impact of face loading due to severe earthquakes on infilled wall panels of a frame structure, the maximum area or span of these panels needs to be restricted as recommended in the Design Manual for Ordinary Reinforced Concrete Structures and Reinforced Wall Structures 1983. However, this restriction is merely based on the seismic zone and soil condition where the structure is located; the wall's position, whether it is on the ground or top floor and whether it is located inside or on the perimeter of the building.
A study which was carried out to re-evaluate the above recommendation found that there are some other parameters which need also to be considered, such as the width of brick units, the effective wall thickness, the ratio of clear height to span of wall panel. Furthermore, for design purposes, it is suggested to put into consideration the crack state condition of walls due to seismic face loads.
