ORCID integration into PTCRIS: developing an integrated research information ecosystem in Portugal

    No full text
ORCID iD is a unique and persistent identifier for researchers that ensures the persistence and interoperability of scientific communication and facilitates the exchange of information in accordance with the principles of open science and FAIR data. This workshop focuses on the integration of ORCID iD into the systems of research funding organizations, with the goal of reducing the administrative burden on researchers and increasing the visibility of Czech research results globally. The goal of the workshop is to provide a platform to discuss the benefits and practical use of ORCID iD in the Czech environment. Participants explored topics such as optimizing research processes and reducing administrative burden. Practical examples from Portugal allowed sharing of best practices, experiences, and challenges in integrating ORCID iD into a research reporting system similar to the Czech IS VaVaI

Transition of (P)ID Implementation in NIMS Materials Data Repository and Related Services

    No full text
This presentation will introduce the evolution of (P)ID implementation in the Materials Data Repository (MDR) and related services. MDR is a part of the Materials Data Platform "DICE" developed and operated by National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). It has experienced several changes in its implementation of identifiers due to difficulties in applying and managing identifiers to research datasets in materials science – including specimens, instruments and chemical compositions – and changing requirements for the service. This presentation will include our example of implementing (P)ID, especially the details of the changes in the requirements and implementations in our data platform

The Doctoral Summer School 2024 was organized by the National Library of Technology in collaboration with the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague), the Czech Association of Doctoral Researchers, and the Committee for Doctoral Studies under the Student Chamber of the Council of the Higher Education Institutions and took place on September 12–13, 2024, at the Dejvice campus. The aim of the event was to enhance the skills of early-career researchers through the following topics: Integrating Conversational AI into Research, Project Management for Early Career Researchers, Communication in Science. The optional Poster Session was a part of the workshop Communication in Science and helped the participants to practice their presentation skills and experiment with creative visual communication.

PIDs and Open Infrastructure: International Collaboration for the Greater Good

    No full text
In this session, we will explore examples of widely used, global open source software platforms (OJS/OPS, DSpace Repository, and VIVO), and discuss how international collaborations, as well as the creation of global funding opportunities by ORCID and DataCite, have been integral to the success of the integration of PIDs in these systems. First, we will share our personal experiences bringing together a global network of collaborators who have pushed forward the development of the ORCID API integrations for both OJS/OPS and DSpace. Second, we will explore the collaborative work toward improving documentation and encouraging the use of the DataCite API integration within DSpace. Third, we will hear from the international VIVO community about their plans to make improvements to the ORCID API integration in VIVO

PID Metaresolver to Support Data Management Processes

    No full text
How can scientists or software integrate the data into analysis processes using PIDs? The dynamic developments face major challenges, which consists of the multitude of PID systems used and organisations involved. Unambiguous identification of information has always been an issue that cuts across all specialist areas. Identifiers have also been developed in various disciplines for different purposes and are still actively used today. The PID Metaresolver consists of a scalable backend, an API for use in automated processes and a UI for resolving and checking PIDs. To be inclusive the PID Metaresolver is extensible and also allows new PID service providers to register their service
