The Behaviour of the Academic Services Users in Higher Education System
No full textDisertační práce, která se zabývá zkoumáním konzultačních a informačních služeb poskytovaných akademickými knihovnami v systému terciárního vzdělávání, přináší originální pohled na zkoumanou problematiku. Cíle práce se dotýkají výzkumného tématu ve třech aspektech – faktorů ovlivňujících spotřebitelské chování uživatelů služeb (studentů bakalářského a magisterského stupně studia), hodnoty služby z pohledu uživatele a efektivnosti poskytovaní konzultačních služeb v akademických knihovnách. Zkoumané individuální konzultace jsou veřejným statkem, jehož cílem je podpora studujících na vysokých školách v rozvoji přenositelných dovedností spojených s prací s informacemi. Disertační výzkum byl zpracován na příkladu Národní technické knihovny a byl doplněn informacemi o poskytování stejného typu služeb na jiných akademických knihovnách.The dissertation thesis examines the reference consultation services provided by academic libraries in higher education system, offering an original perspective on the subject matter. The objectives of the research address the topic in three key aspects: the factors influencing the consumer behavior of service users (undergraduate and graduate students), the service value from the user’s perspective, and the efficiency of providing consulting services in academic libraries. The studied individual consultations represent a public good aimed at supporting university students in developing transferable skills related to information literacy. The dissertation research is based on the example of the National Library of Technology and is supplemented with data on the provision of similar services at other academic libraries
Once Upon a Time in a Library, Was Born a PID
No full textThe French landscape has something peculiar : a library traditional authority file has evolved as a robust and disseminated PID provider system called IdRef. Born in the union catalog for French HE institutions, it has been gradually implemented for PhD thesis, archival material, OA repositories, learning material, academic publishing and is now also used beyond the national boarders, in the French-speaking parts of Switzerland and Belgium. A community of more than a thousand people rooted in bibliographic environments enrich and curate a database with strong semantics. Now walking closely together with ORCID, it is looked as a potential key for CRIS in universities. The organisational, technical and political challenges of such a evolution will be debated

Letošní rok konference asociace odborníků v oblasti doktorského vzdělávání PRIDE se věnoval dopadům AI na vzdělávání doktorandů a začínajících vědců. Během konference zazněla různá témata – od filozoficky pojatých prezentací na téma role AI v akademické obci, otázek etiky a udržitelnosti do velice praktických a interaktivních příkladů použití AI pro každodenní rutinní činnosti začínajícího výzkumníka

No full textIn research data management, the integration of Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) plays a pivotal role in achieving Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) data. This presentation explores the synergy of three components - OpenIRIS, Code Versioning by Git, and Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for research results. By establish a comprehensive framework for enhancing Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) by FAIR data practices. The non-profit platform Openiris.io as a beacon for the research community: facilitating the discovery, sharing, and management of resources. Through its central portal and customed institutional portals, OpenIRIS incorporates features developed with direct researchers involvement, making it a repository of best practices for scientific resource management, in particular measuring instruments
