The Archipelagic Fishing Port of Karangantu located in Banten Bay is one of the blue swimming crab fishing centers in the Java Sea. Covid-19 pandemic had significant effect on blue swimming crab fisheries in Karangantu, especially on the increasing of fishing operational cost, decreasing of price, and limited acces for market distribution. This study aims to analyse the feasibility of blue swimming crab fisheries activity using bottom gillnet in Banten Bay after Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in May-June 2021 in Karangmulya Village, Kasemen District, Serang City with a total of 22 respondents. The data were collected using deep interview with each respondent who was selected purposively. The analysis of business feasibility was conducted based on the parameters of the ratio between income and costs (R/C), payback period (PP), and net present value (NPV). The results show the Covid-19 induced the decreasing of R/C ratio value from 2.08 before to 1.81 after Covid-19 pandemic, respectively. The value of PP also increased from 0.65 years to 0.68 years. Moreover, the potential profit of blue swimming crab fishing also decreased from IDR 55 million before Covid-19 to IDR 52 million after Covid-19 pandemic. However, due to the positive NPN value, the blue swimming crabs fishing actvity using bottom gill nets in Banten Bay is still feasible to be developed.   Keywords: blue swimming crab, Covid-19, impact, fisherie

Upland rice has high potential development that causes the potential of dry land in Indonesia is quite large. However, the productivity of upland rice and its contribution to national paddy production is still low. Upland rice mostly is cultivated based on rainfall so productivity of upland rice depends on fluctuation of rainfall at the area. Theoretically, Indonesia has three different rainfall types, namely; equatorial, monsoonal, and local. This study aimed to identify the effect of rainfall on upland rice production. This study used secondary data consisted of upland rice yield, precipitation, and harvested area in 1990–2017. Data were analyzed by quadratic nonlinear regression and then It was analyzed by Mann-Whitney different test. Selected location were North Sumatera Province, West Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, East Java, South Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, and Maluku. Results show that three rainfall area types statistically differences. Precipitation at Equatorial area influences upland rice yield by 3.15 tons. Furthermore, precipitation at monsoon and local area have effects on reducing production by -0.17 ton and -10.66 ton respectively.   Keywords: nonlinear regression, precipitation, productivity, upland ric

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis) is a tropical plant that can be attacked by various pests, start from nurseries to plantations, so it is necessary to eradicate pests. Generally, the pests is eradicated by applying pesticides using fogging machines brought down by farmers so that they are ineffective in reaching high plants, and hot smoke from fogging machines can damage oil palm leaves. This study aims to design a tool that can optimize the application of pesticide fog to oil palm plants at a certain height. The tool\u27s design in the form of a mobile spray fogger also aims to facilitate the operator in applying pesticide fog at various heights of oil palm and, simultaneously, can reduce the impact of damage to oil palm leaves. The research method was carried out by testing the performance of pesticide fog spraying in the laboratory and the performance test of applying pesticide fog using mobile spray foggers on the land. Furthermore, pesticide smoke from fogging machines was optimized by combining electric sprayers and air blowers so that pesticide fog is formed, reducing the temperature of pesticide smoke, and increasing the range of fogging. The performance of the combination of outputs from fogging machines, electric sprayers, and air blowers on mobile spray fogger produces a droplet diameter of 94.41 μm, droplet density of 365.44 droplet/cm2, effective fogging range of 8.63 m, effective fogging width of 0.91 m, and an average temperature decrease of 4°C.   Keywords: air blower, electric sprayer, fogging machine, palm oil, pest

Patchouli oil is one of Indonesia\u27s important essential oils as an export commodity. Δ-Guaiene is one of the terpenes in the oil, which is shown to have antimicrobial activity against some fungi and bacteria. Thus, the production of δ-guaiene needs to be optimized. This study aims to determine the appropriate pressure and reflux ratio for the fractional distillation process that isolates the highest δ-guaiene content. The experiment used the response surface method. The pressure of the fractional distillation process and reflux ratio were: 1;10; 20 mmHg; and 5:1; 20:1; 35:1. The temperature ranged from 270‒272°C. Various pressure did not give different yields, except at a pressure of 1 mmHg that resulted in 4% yield and δ-guaiene content of 20.46%; both conditions were optimum. The δ-guaiene was characterized for the density, refractive index, distillate formation rate, distillation time, residual mass, and electrical energy requirements, which were 0.9519, 1.5027, 4 mL/min, 1 minute, 6.31 g, and 6.0477 kW/h, respectively. The lower the reflux ratio, the faster the distillation process; the faster the processing time, the lower the energy requirement; and the higher the ratio of reflux, the purer the percentage of the δ-guaiene. The optimum process was reached as the reflux ratio was lower, where the yield and δ-guaiene content were the highest, and the processing time was faster.   Keywords: δ-guaiene, fractional distillation, patchouli oil, reflux pressure, RS

This study aims to determine the effect of sorbitol concentration and solution volume on the mold on the physical properties of the edible film from sago strach. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Sciences STIP Mujahidin Tolitoli, Tuweley Village, Baolan District, Tolitoli Regency, Central Sulawesi Tengah from October to December 2020. This study used a factorial completely randomized design (FCRD). The first factor (a) is the concentration of sorbitol, namely a1 (5 mL/100 mL solution), a2 (6 mL/100 mL solution), and a3 (7 mL/100 mL solution) while the second factor (m) is the volume of the solution in the mold, namely m1 (5 mL), m2 (10 mL), and m3 (15 mL). The data were analyzed using variance followed by the 1% Duncant Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the addition of sorbitol concentration had an effect on the color, thickness, and solubility in water, while the addition of solution volume in the mold affected the color, thickness and water vapor transmission. The best treatment due to the addition of sorbitol concentration to edible film is 5% sorbitol concentration treatment, namely the color has a high brightness level, 0.19 mm thickness, and 41.5% solubility. While the best treatment due to the addition of the volume of the solution on the edible film is the treatment of the 5 ml solution volume, namely the color has a high level of brightness, a thickness of 0.14 mm and a water vapor transmission of 1.11g/m2.hour.   Keywords: edible film, sago starch, sorbito

Indonesia, a country with high forest and land potential for economic growth, still relies on utilizing these two potentials. This study aims to create a conservation scenario in palm oil plantations that are expected to be able to mitigate surface runoff. The data collected include hydrology, land, area of oil palm plantations, and topography, which were analyzed based on threats and potential conservation that can be applied. Conservation scenarios that need to be carried out are: deadlock alley ditch (dad), mixed tree and palm oil plantations, planting oil palm without land cultivation, and immersing mulch. The simulation results of the dad design, if it rains heavily, all of the rainwater in the palm oil fields can be accommodated without a runoff. Mixed tree and oil palm plants are expected to maintain the availability of nutrients, increase the income of oil palm smallholders, and have a good impact on soil fertility. Planting oil palm without land cultivation is expected to reduce surface runoff, increase water infiltration into the soil, and expand water catchment areas. The immersion of palm mulch is expected to help retain soil moisture, add nutrients, enhance the soil\u27s ability to absorb water, and prevent erosion. Conservation scenarios in the long term, such as dad, mixed tree and oil palm plantations, oil plantations without land cultivation, and mulch immersion, are expected to be able to mitigate flooding.   Keywords: Arui watershed, conservation scenario, mitigation, oil palm, surface runof

Increasing levels of angiogenic factors such as gamma interferon (Y-IF), tumor necrosis factor-beta (TNF-β), and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) are thought to be the cause of the angiogenesis process in hemangiomas. Endophytic fungi are potential in searching for new drug sources due to their antimicrobial, antifungal, and anticancer compounds. This study aimed to determine the potential and interactions of endophytic fungi as candidates for vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) angiogenesis hemangiomas and apply Lipinski\u27s rule of five to differentiate drug-like and non-drug-like molecules and in-line toxicity using in silico test. The research method was molecular docking using several programs, namely Autodock Vina (PyRx), PyMol, and Discovery Studio 2019, and tethering five ligands from the endophytic fungus Trichoderma sp. and Aspergillus sp. with 2 VEGFR-2 target proteins (protein codes were 3VHE and 1Y6A). The best binding affinity of the ligands was tested by Lipinski\u27s rule of five and toxicity test using Toxtree. The results showed that benzyl benzoate is potentially an antiangiogenesis inhibitor for VEGFR-2 protein based on its binding affinity value, which is close to the control ligand value of -8.7 kcal/mol (3VHE) and -7.4 kcal/mol (1Y6A). Therefore, benzyl benzoate, chloromycetin, and 1-hexyl-3-nitrobenzene compounds comply with Lipinski\u27s rule of five. Based on the results of the toxicity test and the parameters of the Kroes TTC decision tree, benzyl benzoate and chloromycetin are categorized as safe compounds for consumption.   Keywords: angiogenesis, benzyl benzoate, endophytic fungi, molecular docking, VEGFR-

The study aimed to determine the effect of mineral status (Ca, P, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, and Pb) in soil, grass, and hair of spotted deer in the Bogor Presidential Palace. Fifteen male deer were randomly selected with an age of ± 2.5‒6 years. Soil was collected from ten points representing land, and grass samples were obtained by sampling from several points of the grazing area. Mineral content in soil, grass, and deer hair were analyzed using the atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results showed that the level of Ca (0.03%) and P (0.016%) in the soil are deficient, Mn (1960 ppm), Zn (33.89 ppm), and Cu (77.23 ppm) are considered in the normal range, and Fe and Pb elements are high. Mineral levels of Ca, P, Cu, and Zn in grasses do not meet the daily requirements, whilst high levels of Fe and Mn minerals exceed the requirements for the spotted deer. The Pb content in grass is 0.94 ppm, which is within the normal limit. The levels of Ca (0.02%), Fe (308.11 ppm). and Mn (6.18 ppm) minerals in deer hair are high, however, zinc (44.68 ppm) and Cu (3.08 ppm) levels are low. High Pb level (14.38 ppm) is due to the long-term impact of Pb accumulation.   Keywords: Bogor Palace, mineral status, Axis axi

A greenhouse is an agricultural management system that has shown the efficiency of food production. This system is an effective alternative to ensure maximum production results. Agriculture with greenhouse technology can create the desired environmental/climatic conditions. The rapid development of technology and science has led to the birth of communication between devices using IoT and AI. This technology can be applied to greenhouses in agriculture and fisheries. Research on greenhouse and microcontroller-based automation systems has been carried out, and it is interesting to be developed. Researchers make a more efficient system and can increase the quality and quantity of production. The measurement data of both modes are monitored using the web. The greenhouse prototype is supported by DHT22, DS18B20, a fan to control the greenhouse cooler, RFID as the key access to the greenhouse. DHT22 & DS18B20 sensor readings in the prototype greenhouse use an AI system with the fuzzy method. IoT and AI have been successfully implemented in models of rice fields, hydroponic farming, and fisheries using automatic modes of RTC devices and sensors. The fuzzy approach method is used to find the optimum temperature and humidity values. The fuzzy approach was successfully carried out until the temperature and humidity conditions were "ideal," "high," and "very high." This condition provides information to the microcontroller to activate which fan should turn on. In manual mode, the smartphone application controls the system properly.   Keywords: artificial intelegent, control and automation, fuzzy logic, greenhouse, Io
