    The aim of this research were to determine the best combination between varieties and types of organic liquid fertilizers. This research was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. The laboratory analysis for liquid organic fertilizer was done ​​in BIOTROP, Bogor. This research used Completely Randomized design (CRD ) with four combination treatments : Tala variety and basic material liquid organic fertilizer Lamtoro, Tala variety and basic material liquid organic fertilizer Kirinyuh, Bayu variety and basic material liquid organic fertilizer Lamtoro, Bayu variety and basic material liquid organic fertilizer Kirinyuh. The result showed that Bayu variety and basic material liquid organic fertilizer Kirinyuh trend gave the highest Leaf Area Duration (DLD), Net Assimilation Rate (NAR), Relative Growth Rate (RGR), number of pods and the yield per plant.     Paal Merah Village area consists of two main Landform Group Alluvial and acidic tuff Plain. Alluvial group is small and the widest portion is acidic tuff Plain Group with slopes between 3-8%. Soil types are Typic Endoaquepts area with soil characteristics: moderate depth. Landform regions with acidic tuff little flat plains, soil type Aquic Dystrudepts with moderate depth characteristics, the top layer of somewhat coarse textured, fine sandy, slightly acidic soil pH to neutral, fluffy undercoat, drainage impeded until somewhat hampered, and the pH of acid soils. Region drier types of soil Typic Dystrudepts with soil characteristics: solum deep, well drained, slightly rough texture of the top layer, the bottom layer of smooth, pH acidic to slightly acid soil. While on land rather flat to choppy Kanhapludults Typic soil type, soil characteristics: the depth of the soil solum moderate to deep, well drained, fine texture, and pH of acid soils. Results of the evaluation of land suitability of various agricultural commodities, land can be developed for agricultural commodities featured in the Pal Merah village area of 143 ha (91.7%), while the remaining 23 ha (8.3%) could not be developed for agriculture, because it is a settlement and a service area. Results of the assessment showed that the land unit 1 (Lu-1) that is currently in the form of basin swamp with stagnant swamp grass vegetation is not appropriate (N) for the cultivation of agricultural commodities. Lu 2 and 3 with soil drainage is hampered includes quite fit (S2) for the cultivation of agricultural commodities with a lack of oxygen limiting factors (soil drainage is hampered). Lu 4 including quite fit (S2) by a factor limiting nutrient retention. While Lu 5 in addition to the retention of nutrients for crops also have limiting erosion. Based on the characteristics of the land, then in the plain areas tuff sour flat to choppy very suitable for vegetable crops such as mustard greens, spinach, chilli, egg plant, and leafy vegetable, in the alluvial basin that is now largely overgrown with potential for fisheries.     The aim of this research were to determine the best combination between varieties and the types of organic liquid fertilizers.     This Research   was conducted  at  Teaching and Research Farm ,  Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University started from July 2013 untill October 2013. Experiment was arranged in a Randomized block design with factorial treatment and  three replication. First factor was variety consist of two level  Anjasmoro  and Grobogan . Second factor was different organic fertilizer cattle  manure, chicken manure, goat manure, and Cities Compost Trash. Variables observed were plant height (cm), plant dry weight (g), number of filled pod, number of pod per plant, 100 seed weight (g), and seed weight per plant (g). Data were analysed using analisys of variance and continued with DNMRT test with 5 % level of significance. Results showed that there were not different effect of organic manure applied on both soybean varieties. At the other hand, application of organic manures had significant effect on number of filled pod, number of pod per plant, plant dry weight, and seed weight per plant. Meanwhile, there were sicnificant effect between two soybean varieties  and Cities Compost Trash on number of filled pod, number of pod per plant, plant dry weight and seed weight per plant.     ABSTRACT The use of new varieties and legowo row planting system is a component of integrated crop management technology and be a deciding factor to increase production and productivity of rice plants, and is an easy technology to apply by farm level. This study aims to obtain new varieties and legowo row of upland rice planting systems in Jambi Province. Research conducted at the Sungai Penuh District, Jambi Province from June to November 2013, at an altitude of 938 m above sea level with the type of soil andosol. The project used randomized group of two factors. The first factor is the new varieties of paddy, (1) Inpari 21 (2) Inpari 28, and (3) Batang Piaman. Factor II is cropping systems, (1) Jajar legowo 2 : 1, and (2) Jajar legowo 4 : 1. The results showed that legowo row planting system 2 : 1 and 4 : 1 has not showed significant differences in all variables were observed, except observation of the dry grain yield harvest, where Inpari 28 gives the highest yield in legowo row planting system 2 : 1. The high yield result of Inpari 28 supported by the component that is relatively better results compared to Inpari 21 and varieties Batang Piaman with legowo row planting systems 2 : 1 or 4 : 1. The three varieties and two cropping systems tested were able to provide results > 5 t/ha and higher than 2013 BPS report, however, needs further research on a larger scale before it developed by the farmer.     This research purpose is to evaluate the potential of biological diversity, micro climate and carbon uptake at the green area of Jambi University Campus. It’s used purposive random sampling. The result showed that there are 34 type of trees with various diameter. Among the trees there are Dalbergia latifolia, Fagraea fragrans and Palaguium gutta, which is classified to be protected. The green area of Jambi University Campus especially at green strip could decrased the temperature about 2.00 C.Key Words: Carbon, green area, biodiversity

    This research aim is  to evaluate the effect of Palm oil liquid waste  to the cacao seedling growth. This research was conducted at Faculty of Agriculture Research Farm. This research was arrangement with Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) consisting of  six treatment of dosage with  four replications, so there are 24  polybag. The treatment are  dosage 0.0 Lpolybag -1 , 0.4 Lpolybag -1,0.8 Lpolybag -1, 1.2 Lpolybag -1, 1.6 Lpolybag -1 dan 2.0 Lpolybag -1. The Results showed  that there were significantly effects of dosage to all growth parameter, such as cacao seedling height, diameter of branch, total leaf area, root dry weight and plant dry weight. Dosages 1.6 L polybag-1, was the best effect on all growth parameters

    This Research was obtained to determine the effect of different doses of Trichocompost from cacao fruits leather on the growth of cacao at the diffeerent soil water level. It was conducted at Agriculture Faculty Research Fram, Mendalo Darat. This research was arranged at Randomized Complete Design with 16 combination of Trichocompost adn soil water level. The Frist Factor : doses were 0 g/polibag, 150 g/polybag, 300 g/polibag ang 450 g/polybag, and the second Factor : Soil water level 25 % field capacty, 50% field capacity, 75 % field caporacity and 100 % field capacy.     This research aims to study the effect of shade on the ratio of chlorophyll a/b and the yield of the two soybean varieties. The experiment was conducted at the Teaching Farm Faculty of Agriculture University of Jambi, in the Village District Mendalo Jambi with altitude + 35 feet above sea level. Experiments using split plot design (Split-Plot Design) by 2 factors: the first factor as the main plot (main plot) is a shade (N) consisting of 2, ie, without shade and 50% shade. The second factor is the subplot (sub plot) soybean varieties (V) consisting of varieties Petek (tolerant) and Jayawijaya (sensitive). The variables measured were plant height, ratio of chlorophyll a/b, the number of primary branches, number of pods per plant, number of pods per plant contains, weight of 100 seeds and yield per plant. The results showed that administration of 50% shade and without shade of two varieties tested significant terhadapn plant height, ratio of chlorophyll a / b, the number of primary branches, number of pods per plant, number of pods per plant contains, weight of 100 seeds, and yield per plants, but not significantly different to the chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b and the ratio of chlorophyll-a / b.Keywords: Soybean, shade, ratio Chlorophyll-a / b

    Apical bud prunning is one of the ways to improved growth and yield of soybean. This experiment aime is  to reveal the effect of internode spacing of apical bud prunning that could be the best to increasingsoybean yield and growth. This research was conducted  in Randomized block design, with one factor and five replication, there are, PO:  no apical bud prunning, P1:  apical bud prunning with inter node spacing 10 %, P2:  apical bud prunning with internode spacing20 %, P3:apical bud prunning with internode spacing  30 %. The result showes that soybean apical bud prunning increasing significantly soybean yoeld, and growth parameter, eg. plant height, number of main branches and number of main node.   Key word : internode, apical, bud, prunning.
