The Provision of Conceptual Change Text for Reducing Students’ Misconceptions in The Physics Learning of Light During the Pandemic Covid-19

Conceptual change is seen as a powerful teaching approach for developing 21st century skills. To determine the usefulness of delivering a conceptual change text for fostering conceptual change regarding light in physics learning at home during the pandemic, a quasi-experimental design was adopted, with one group pre-and posttesting. The participants are 23 eighth-grade students from SMPN 2 Ledo Bengkayang, a public secondary school in the rural region, who were recruited using an intact group random selection technique. A diagnostic test was provided, which included nine multiple-choice items and two distractors, as well as supporting arguments. This study discovered that students' beliefs regarding light and the process of vision vary significantly. After treatment, pupils' misunderstandings were reduced by 26.80%. After receiving the CCT, students had a considerable conceptual shift, and the CCT's effectiveness was sufficient (gain mean = 0.58). To get more effective results, CCT should be used in conjunction with any other teaching approach or model. A scientific teacher should exemplify a conceptual transformation method in the classroom

This research aims to exploring and reconstructing of indigenous knowledge of coffee processing in Kerinci into scientific knowledge. This research was qualitative using ethnoscience approach. The research was carried out at Coffee Nur Kerinci. The key informan were the owner and employees of Coffee Nur. Data collection was carried out through observation and deep interview. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively using the Miles and Huberman models. The processing of Coffee Nur Kerinci carried out traditionally using simple tools. It consists of drying of coffee beans, roasting, cooling, pulverization, sifting, and packaging of coffee powder. Drying of coffee beans was carried out by the sun for 21 days with an average of five hours/day. The roasting process was carried out by using a roaster made of a drum that rotated on the stove. The pulverization was carried out by using a waterwheel as a driving force which was connected to eight pestles. Scientifically, the processing of Coffee Nur Kerinci can be reconstructed into scientific concepts regarding the classification of living things, heat and transfer, circular motion, collisions, and forces

The objective of this study was to describe the effectiveness of learning tools based on local wisdom in enhancing creative thinking skills in the context of sound waves. The research was conducted at SMA N 1 North Gorontalo, specifically targeting eleventh-grade students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ADDIE learning design model, which encompasses the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, it is important to note that this study focuses solely on describing the effectiveness of the learning materials, without delving into other aspects. The effectiveness of the learning tools was assessed during the implementation stage. The findings of the study indicated that student engagement during the two sessions was rated as very good. The assessment of attitudes in both sessions resulted in a percentage of 87.89% and 89.85% respectively, falling within the very good category. Similarly, the assessment of skills exhibited percentages of 85.70% and 89.85% respectively, also within the very good range. Furthermore, the test conducted to evaluate students' creative thinking abilities revealed that the majority of students demonstrated creativity in utilizing traditional polopalo musical instruments. These findings suggest that learning tools based on local wisdom have the potential to enhance students' creative thinking skills

Computational thinking ability is one of today's problem-solving methods that can be applied in physics learning. However, it is not yet known by most teachers so it has not been applied optimally in learning activities. This study aims to identify students' problem-solving and computational thinking abilities in solving well-structure physics problems. The subject of this study was the eleven grade majoring in natural science of SMAN 1 Bangunrejo. This type of research is descriptive research. The data used to analyze the students' problem-solving and computational thinking abilities were obtained from the essay test. Based on the results of descriptive analysis, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between students' problem-solving abilities and students' computational thinking abilities. In making a useful description, abstraction and decomposition abilities are needed, while to determine the physics approach and specific application of physics, generalization abiliy are needed. In solving mathematical procedures, algorithm ability are needed and to find out logical progressions, debugging ability are needed

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality and students' responses to video experiments oriented towards STEM activities and critical thinking. The research problem is that the implementation of experimental activities in schools is still very rarely used because, limited learning time and the learning that is carried out has not been able to train students' critical thinking skills. The research method used is Research and Development, the research design uses the Plomp model which consists of three stages, namely the preliminary stage, the prototyping stage and ends with the assessment stage, but this research is limited to the prototyping stage. The instruments used to collect data were validity sheets (26 questions), practicality sheets (18 questions) and interview sheets (5 questions). VHL was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively based on the results of validity tests, practicality tests and interviews. The results of the validity test from the three expert reviewers showed that VHL obtained a score of 0.92 with a very high validity category. In terms of practicality, the VHL scores 98% (very practical). In terms of students' responses to VHL, the majority of students stated that they were happy, interested and enthusiastic about learning to use VHL. Therefore, VHL with the theme "Hydraulic Lift" is categorized as feasible and practical to help grade 8 students in practicing critical thinking skills on the concept of material pressure

Misconceptions in physics lessons are still the main problem faced by teachers and students. Misconceptions of physics occur at various levels of education and many physics materials at the high school level. The results of observation to class XII students in Semarang obtained data that the material on the theory of relativity is material with a low level of mastery of concepts. In addition, teachers also have difficulty in identifying physical misconceptions experienced by students.  Therefore, this study aims to develop an instrument in the form of a Four-Tier Diagnostics Test to identify students' physics misconceptions on the material of relativity theory, determine the level of validity, reliability, and characteristics of the four-tier diagnostics test. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The methods used are documentation, interviews, questionnaires and tests. The results showed that the instruments were valid and reliable. The diagnostic test consists of four levels, namely: a question with one answer key and four distractor, the degree of confidence of the answer, the reason, and the level of confidence of the reason. The resulting instrument consists of a grid, work instructions, test questions, answer keys, answer sheets, scoring guidelines, and result interpretation guidelines. Validity testing by expert validators shows the developed instrument is valid and reliable
