    Development of Physics Laboratory Manual: Characteristic of Resistors Circuit

    This study aimed to produce a physics laboratory manual characteristic of a single, series, parallel and series-parallel series of resistors; found out the quality of the physics laboratory manual characteristics of a single, series, parallel and series-parallel series of resistors. This research is a research development. Data collection in this study used suggestion and input sheets, quality assessment sheets for laboratory manual and student response sheets. Laboratory manual quality data obtained from three assessors, student response data for the limited trial I involving six students, and limited trial II involving 28 students. The physics laboratory manual characteristics of a single, series, parallel and series-parallel circuit of resistors have been produced with the criteria of "very eligible" based on final validation by media expert with a percentage of 97% and declared "very eligible" based on final validation by material expert with a percentage amounting to 83.90% and stated to be "very eligible" based on the final assessment by lecturer of electromagnetics courses with a percentage of 80%. This physics laboratory manual received a "very good" response from students with a percentage reaching 82% in limited trial I and received a "very good" response with a percentage of 82.60% in limited trial

    Most of physics teachers in Purworejo Regency use conventional teaching media. This is due to the lack of understanding and information about the latest It-based teaching media. They need new breakthroughs and methods to improve the quality of physics learning, especially those related to the development of teaching media. Therefore CMS (Content Management System) web exe and Arduino-based training needs analysis are conducted for Purworejo Regency physics teachers. This effort are tested by research descriptions are by giving questionnaires to respondents. The results showed that Purworejo district physics teachers needed continuous and periodic training with guided monitoring and needed training related to the latest IT-based teaching media such as e learning and microcontroller-based teaching media such as Arduino

    Development of Microcontroller-Based Free Fall Motion Learning Materials to Increase Students’ Conceptual Understanding

    Students’ shortcoming in understanding various concepts of physics is often due to the lack of teaching media can promote student active participation in the learning process. This study aims to develop a valid and effective microcontroller-based physics learning materials as teaching media in enhancing conceptual understanding of free fall motion lessons. This learning materials is developed using the research and development (R&D) method. Effectiveness test of learning materials using pre-experimental research design one group pretest-posttest involve students of physics education program in STKIP SoE. Data collection techniques were done through validation sheets, observations, test questions, and questionnaire sheets. Validation of learning materials through expert testing shows that learning materials are in a valid category. The results of the study shows that learning materials have a positive effect in improving students' conceptual understanding. The effectiveness of the use of learning materials in improving students' understanding of concepts has been analyzed through the results of N-gain calculations which show a moderate score increase. Moreover, the practicality test of learning materials using a Likert scale shows that learning materials are very practical to utilize as teaching media

    The Effect of Noni Leaves’ Age Variation On the Value of Absorbance and Wavelength In Certain Color Spectrums

    This research is experimental research. The research aims to analyze the absorbance and wavelength values on the certain color spectrum based on the age of noni leaf sample. Variation in absorption and wavelength occurs in the red spectrum ranges between 650 to 700 nm. Maximum absorption occurs in the middle of noni leaf followed by the tip of noni leaf sample but the yellow leaf sample results poor absorption. Chlorophyll a has main leaf pigment the most which occurs in the light reaction of photosynthesis. The maximum absorption which ranges between 3,5 to 4,0 A occurs in the blue spectrum ranges between 400 to 450 nm. Chlorophyll b absorbs photon energy in sun light. A wavelength ranges between 500 to 600 nm occurs in the green spectrum which has low absorption of three samples ranges 0,5 to 1,5 A. The chlorophyll reflects light of the green spectrum; therefore, it causes low absorption

    The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Web-Based Simulation (WBS) on Physics learning to enhance digital literacy skills of Grade XI students in high school. The level of digital literacy skills of the students in the experiment and control group before and after they study using WBS learning and none was determined respectively. The comparison of their levels before and after the study was done to determine the effectiveness of the WBS learning. The participants of this study were 49 students of science class, with 14-16 age. The research design in this study were descriptive-comparison and pretest-posttest experimental design. Data analysis using Anova mixed design with significant 5%. The result of this study are level of students' digital literacy skill before learning process is generally very low; but after the treatment these skill was comparatively increased. In addition, there was a significant difference in the level of digital literacy skill of the classes where the WBS learning is the more effective than direct learning to enhance students’ digital literacy skill

    Determination of Fluid Viscosity Coefficient Using jetAudio and Subtitle Edit

    The purpose of this study is to produce an experimental design for determining the viscosity coefficient using jetAudio and Subtitle Edit software, and determining the value of the fluid viscosity coefficient by using this experimental design. In this study, the type of fluid used is packaged cooking oil, and the object used is a magnetic ball. The method proposed by the author to measure the travel time of the magnetic ball in cooking oil is by using the combination of coil sensors, jetAudio, and Subtitle Edit. JetAudio software will record magnetic induction traces as the magnetic ball passes the coils into audio format, Subtitle Edit software is used to determine travel time of the magnetic ball based on jetAudio recording data. The results of this study are jetAudio and Subtitle Edit can be used in fluid viscosity coefficient experiments. The value of the cooking oil viscosity coefficient obtained from this study is 0,561431096 Pa.s

    Penerapan Model Learning Cycle (LC) 7E Sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Pemahaman Konsep Aspek Menafsirkan dan Menyimpulkan Materi Kalor Kelas X SMA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa melalui penerapan  model Learning Cycle (LC) 7E pada materi kalor  kelas X SMA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan bentuk pre-eksperiment. Desain yang digunakan adalah one group pretest posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Singkawang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XB yang berjumlah 17 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel berupa purposive sampling. Alat pengumpulan data berupa tes pemahaman konsep berbentuk pilihan ganda dan non tes yang berupa respon siswa terhadap penerapan model LC 7E. Nilai reliabilitas tes pilihan ganda sebesar 0,71 berada pada kategori tinggi. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa setelah diterapkan model LC 7E pada materi kalor di kelas X mengalami  peningkatan dengan N-gain sebesar 0,78 berada pada kategori tinggi. Respon siswa terhadap penerapan model LC 7E sebesar 89% dengan kategori sangat baik

    The aim of this study is to investigate the difficulties experienced by students on the concept of Newton’s Law of Motion. The method used is descriptive analysis with a sample of 14 students who take Mechanics Course on Physics Education Study Porgram, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Samawa University. The data was collected by essai test. Based on the test result show that (1) students have difficulty in integrating mathematical equation. (2) students was unable to operated integration and differentiation related to trigonometric function. (3) students have not understood the concept of potential in conservative force field

    Identifikasi Pemahaman Konsep Siswa Pada Materi Zat dan Wujudnya

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi zat dan wujudnya. Pemahaman konsep yang diteliti yaitu menafsirkan, menginferensi, membandingkan dan menjelaskan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan sampel telah diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 23 orang siswa satu di antara SMP Swasta di kota Singkawang. Tes berbentuk pilihan ganda terdiri dari 5 soal aspek menafsirkan, 5 soal aspek menginferensi, 5 soal aspek membandingkan, dan 5 soal aspek menjelaskan. Pengkategorian jawaban siswa diadaptasi dari kategori n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi zat dan wujudnya pada aspek menafsirkan berkategori sedang dengan persentase 59%, aspek menginferensi berkategori sedang dengan persentase 43%, aspek membandingkan berkategori sedang dengan persentase 40% dan aspek menjelaskan berkategori rendah dengan persentase 28%. Hasil penelitian ini bisa menjadi referensi bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa khususnya pada aspek menjelaskan dengan model pembelajaran lain

    Miskonsepsi Buku Ajar Fisika SMA Kelas X Pada Pokok Bahasan Dinamika Gerak

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan bentuk-bentuk miskonsepsi pada pokok bahasan dinamika gerak dalam buku ajar fisika SMA kelas X. Adapun buku ajar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: (1) Fisika untuk SMA/MA Kelas X Semester I karangan RA dan SI yang diterbitkan tahun 2012 oleh penerbit IP, (2) Fisika untuk SMA/MA Kelas X Semester I karangan TPM yang diterbitkan tahun 2013 oleh penerbit VP, dan (3) Fisika Peminatan untuk SMA/MA Kelas X karangan SN dan SZ yang diterbitkan tahun 2013 oleh penerbit YW. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah data berupa aspek penjelasan konsep, penulisan rumus, penulisan simbol, penulisan satuan, dan penyajian gambar pada pokok bahasan dinamika gerak dalam buku ajar fisika SMA. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis data dalam buku ajar fisika SMA yang dibandingkan dengan buku teks fisika universitas. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa miskonsepsi pada pokok bahasan dinamika gerak terdapat dalam buku ajar fisika SMA. Buku ajar IP mengalami miskonsepsi pada aspek penjelasan konsep dengan persentase 10%, penulisan rumus dengan persentase 57,14%, penulisan simbol dengan persentase 46,15%, dan penyajian gambar dengan persentase 20%. Buku ajar VP mengalami miskonsepsi pada aspek penjelasan konsep dengan persentase 10%, penulisan rumus dengan persentase 85,71%, penulisan simbol dengan persentase 79,62%, dan penyajian gambar dengan persentase 80%. Buku ajar YW mengalami miskonsepsi pada aspek penjelasan konsep dengan persentase 10%, penulisan rumus dengan persentase 85,71%, penulisan simbol dengan persentase 69,23, dan penyajian gambar dengan persentase 20%. Pada aspek penulisan satuan, tidak terdapat miskonsepsi dalam buku ajar IP, VP, dan YW
