This is certainly not adequate because it ignores other aspects, such as intelligence, cooperation, trust, and so forth. POPIS (physical capital, organizational capital, political capital, intellectual capital, sociocultural capital) conception offers a more comprehensive perspective on the various capital that affect organizational performance. But, in fact, among the various capital, there are some capital that is more dominant than the other capital-capital. SBW and KGJ cooperative performance clearly demonstrate the dominant role of socio-cultural capital in influencing the success of those two institutions

The idea of modern society that has been dominated for long time by political idea (read: state) fails since state has lost her control over economy. The state loses as well control over her socio-cultural legitimacy while society became more plural. Sociologists in 80’s inspired by Tourianian’s idea, find that in an ‘ultra-modern’ society, the redefinition on the idea of society, modernity and rationality are inevitable and ‘the return of the Subject’ shall be a main agenda for further sociological analysis. In this context how multiculturalism might be construed? This article has been in attempt to explore the reconstitution of multiculturalism idea based on the new paradigm concerning the return of the Subject, which at the moment is a real challenge for sociology
The Evolution of Javanese Kingship
Tulisan ini mengungkapkan secara ringkas evolusi dari konsep kingship (kedudukan raja) Jawa yang ditelusuri dari abad ke lima sampai abad tujuh belas dengan memperhatikan secara analitis basis dari keabsahan (legitimacy) bagi para penguasa atau raja di Jawa. Sejarah para raja di Jawa menunjukkan bahwa para raja di Jawa mengadopsi simbol dan praktik keagamaan untuk mengabsahkan kedudukan mereka sebagai raja. Hal ini tampak ketika mereka merespon masuknya agama-agama seperti Hindu, Buddha, dan Islam ke tanah Jawa. Namun, mereka tetap mempertahankan nilai dan praktik kepercayaan lokal untuk mendukung keabsahan kedudukan mereka sebagai raja. Di lain pihak, hanya orang-orang yang diakui sebagai “manusia gagah berani” yang mampu memberikan keamanan dan kesejahteraan bagi rakyat yang layak memegang kedudukan sebagai raja. Dengan demikian, seorang raja di Jawa tidak hanya diabsahkan oleh nilai dan simbol agama, tetapi juga diakui sebagai penguasa yang berhasil memberikan keamanan dan kesejahteraan bagi rakyatnya
