Remarks on propagation of discontinuities in stationary radiative transfer
We consider the stationary transport equation withthe incoming boundary condition. We are interested in discontinuitiesof the solution. Under the generalized convexity condition, it isknown that it has only boundary-induced discontinuities, which are discontinuitiesarising from discontinuous boundary data, they propagatealong positive characteristic lines, and we can reconstruct the attenuationcoefficient from boundary measurements by the inverse X-raytransform. In this article, we observe that coefficient-induced discontinuities,discontinuities of the solution arising from discontinuous coefficients,would also appear without the generalized convexity condition.If the set of discontinuous points of the coefficients contains at mostfinite number of flat parts, coefficient-induced discontinuities do notaffect the inverse X-ray transform. We also remark that, under thegeneralized convexity condition, a three dimensional inverse problemcan be reduced to the two dimensional one. A numerical experiment isexhibited
A Study on the Practice and Evaluation of an International Short-Term Training Program Utilizing Fundamental Competencies for Working Persons
本報告は、城西大学現代政策学部がタイ王国チュラロンコン大学芸術学部と共同で実施した国際短期研修について、その実践内容と成果を社会人基礎力を指標に評価したものである。事後アンケートの結果、「前に踏み出す力」「考え抜く力」「チームで働く力」の全領域で統計的に有意な向上が示された。自由記述からは、異文化環境での生活体験とグループワークが、学生の主体性や実行力、課題発見力、計画力、ストレスコントロール力などを育む要因として大きく寄与したことがうかがえる。一方で、研修内容の違いによる効果の差異や、事前・事後評価のタイミングと方法に関する検討などが今後の課題として指摘される。本研修をはじめとする海外派遣プログラムの継続的な発展が、城西大学におけるグローバル人材育成をさらに推進することが期待される。This report examines the international short-term training program jointly implemented by the Faculty of Contemporary Policy Studies at Josai University and the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. The program’s design and outcomes were assessed using the framework of “Fundamental Competencies for Working People.” Post-training survey results indicated statistically significant improvements across all three competency domains—namely, the ability to “take the initiative,” “think things through,” and “work in teams.” Analysis of open-ended responses suggests that living in a cross-cultural environment and engaging in group work significantly fostered students’ autonomy, execution skills, problem-identification abilities, planning capabilities, and stress-control strategies.教育実践研究 / Report

Effects of phenobarbital and dosing time on the plasma concentration and pharmacological activity of tadalafil in mice.
Tadalafil is a potent selective phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension. As tadalafil is a substrate of CYP3A, coadministration with a CYP inducer or inhibitor may affect the pharmacokinetics and pharmacological activity of tadalafil. Additionally, CYP expression is regulated by biological clocks and its activity fluctuates diurnally. Moreover, tadalafil's dosing time may also affect its pharmacokinetics. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of phenobarbital and tadalafil dosing time on the plasma concentration and pharmacological activity of tadalafil. Adult male ICR mice were treated with phenobarbital for 5 days, followed by oral administration of tadalafil perorally. Phenobarbital pretreatment decreased plasma tadalafil and pulmonary cGMP levels in a dose-dependent manner. In mice without phenobarbital pretreatment, the plasma tadalafil concentration tended to be higher when administered in the morning than in the evening. In contrast, plasma tadalafil concentration was higher when administered in the evening than in the morning in mice pretreated with phenobarbital. Similarly, pulmonary cGMP levels were higher when tadalafil was administered in the evening than in the morning in mice pretreated with phenobarbital. Notably, these effects on metabolism and pharmacological activity were observed at clinically relevant doses. Conclusively, these results indicate that the coadministration of phenobarbital and tadalafil may suppress the plasma levels and pharmacological activities of tadalafil.
