    Analisis Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) pada Mesin Caterpillar Type 3512B

    PT. PLN (Persero) ULPLTD Bagan Besar PLTD Bengkalis where the diesel engine is the prime mover. In this case, the role of engine maintenance is needed so that there are no obstacles in the process of distributing community power, especially for Bengkalis Island. Therefore, it is necessary to identify to measure the level of effectiveness of the work of the machine by using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a method of measuring the overall effectiveness of a production machine that involves measuring the level of effectiveness of time, the level of machine performance, and the level of quality of products produced. Measuring the level of work effectiveness of the Caterpillar Type 3512B engine with the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method at PT. PLN (Persero) ULPLTD Bagan Besar PLTD Bengkalis in the December 2018 - March 2019 period the results obtained do not meet the value of the Word Class Ideal OEE with a percentage value below 85%

    Dual Translational dynamic vibration absorber (dDVA) is two DVA masses that can move in the translational direction and given into the system to reduce system-translation translational vibrations. The research about using dual translational DVA to reduce vibration with the simulation method has been done, but a study about using the experimental method in that study to do validation from the simulation results that never been done. In this research we conducted a study related to the characteristics of 2 DOF system vibration response after the addition of dual translational DVA with an experimental approach and compared the results with simulation results data. Comparison between experiment date and simulation date is done in order to determine the level of error between the two methods. Simulation data is obtained by simulating the existing equations of motion from the study of literature, while the experimental data is obtained from testing with a DVA test with several changes in the frequency of excitation. From this research shows that the vibration characteristics of the experimental results are the same as the characteristics of the vibration of the simulation results, with an average significance level of 91.5%. The error that occurs between the results of the simulation and experiment is caused by the disappearance of some vibrations from the main system to the environment around the system, so that resulting differences result between simulation and experiment

    The garbage dumping in Tegal Regency has reached 989.8 m3/day and increasing every year. The percentage of waste in Murareja landfill is dominated by plastic waste which is 40.15%. The plastic waste will be processed by pyrolysis by utilizing Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) as its fuel. The percentage of garbage in Murareja TPA that can be used as RDF is quite high, which is 28.7%, consisting of 15.35% paper waste, 2.35% rubber / leather waste, 2% garbage cloth, 1% wood waste, and 8% plastic waste. The waste is considered potentially to be produced into RDF. The production of RDF aims to convert the combustible waste fraction from 4K1P waste (Paper, Wood, Fabrics, Rubber / Leather and Plastics) to be fueled. Therefore it is important to know how much potential of 4K1P waste to be processed into RDF, and how optimal calorific value of RDF is to be used as fuel of pyrolysis incinerator on Waste Power Generation at Murareja TPA, Tegal regency. Based on the result of the research that has been done, the theoretical value of the theoretical value of 4K1P RDF briquette is 3677.0945 - 5507.114 [kcal / kg]. From the actual data obtained with laboratory testing the value of RDF beverage caloric waste 4K1P RDF amounted to 3973.45 [kCal / kg]. The optimal calorific value of RDF required as a pyrolysis incinerator fuel is 3248.809 [kcal / kg]. Based on the results of laboratory tests, the percentage of moisture content, ash content, volatile content and carbon content are 4.68%, 11.64%, 7.81% and 75.87% respectively

    In the operation of the unit whose successor does not use a hydraulic system, the role of the clutch is very important in transmitting power from the engine to the transmission. However, the clutch can only slip so that it can no longer function to forward power from the engine to the transmission. This can be caused by several things, including: wear on the clutch material, the presence of oil in the field of clutch surface, and spring damage to the clutch. On Scania P 124 CB 8x4 NZ 420 units this slip on clutch problem also occurs so research needs to be done to find the main cause. The method used in this study is to carry out checks and measurements and then the results are compared with the standard values that have been determined. The result shows that the cause of the slip on the clutch on the Scania P 124 CB 8x4 NZ 420 unit is 1) the presence of oil that wet the coupling surface is caused by a damaged seal shaft; 2) wear on clutch components namely clutch disc and pressure plate. To keep the seal shaft in good condition, regular and regular oil changes must be made and when the replacement of the seal shaft must be in accordance with the part number so that the possibility of the same problem can be reduced

    Metal Casting Industry has a classic problem in handling the production process and quality assurance. This research aims to provide solutions to solve the problems of the metal casting industry by introducing and applying 3D printers with a fused deposit material system. this technology is used to streamline the production process of cast patterns. The process of making a casting pattern usually takes 70% of the total production time of a cast product. The purpose of this study is to examine the application of making cast patterns with a 3D printer with a fused deposit material system. The research methods carried out are (1) create of 3D CAD cast patterns, (2) conversion to STL format, (3) 3D printer setup, (4) printing process, (5) analysis, (6) conclusions. The results obtained are a 3D printer with a fused deposit material system that can be used to make cast patterns. From the analysis of the accuracy of the cast pattern with the 3D printer has a difference in size ranging from 0.2 mm. As for the analysis of the quality of the geometry, the results of the cast pattern of the 3D printer with the fused deposit material system have a good shape but lack results on the surface. Thus a 3D printer with a fused deposit material system is suitable for making cast patterns because it has a consistent tendency and ease in making cast patterns. This opens up opportunities for continued development of 3D printers in the metal casting industry sector

    The vehicle market in Indonesia, especially motorbikes is very large, it is estimated that the growth of motorbike vehicles will reach 6 million per year. Recently, more than 50 percent is dominated by automatic motorcycles and the market increase significantly. This is because automatic motorcycles can be easily ridden. There are some weaknesses with this transmission system, among them is there is no engine brake when the road is in downhill condition. The motor will easily run when the gas throttle is pressed. This paper discusses the design of a mechanical system on the automatic transmission that is able to prevent mistake on procedures that causes accidents. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to do several steps, including reviewing the existing design, determining the new system, designing the system, manufactured and testing. Experiment results shows that the current motorcycles automatic transmission system can be replaced with a mechatronic system with special linkage mechanism to control ratio change

    The management (pick and place activities) of traffic cones (KLL) is generally performed in traditional way where the operator of KLL management picks and places KLL by using their body power. Therefore, the speed and effeciency of the task greatly depends on the power, stamina, and skill of the operator. Furthermore, in the case of KLL management at toll roads, the speed of task completion may vary because of stamina decreasing and huge number of KLL. Improving the speed and efficiency of the task is absolutely needed. One of the goals is to reduce the time of task completion as well as the power consumption of the operator. Electric motor may be used as the solution to achieve faster and effective KLL management. In this research work, a semi-automatic KLL pick-n-place machine is proposed to solve the problem. This machine uses DC motor to reduce the human power. In addition, a semi-automatic controller is designed to reduce the human role in the work sequence of KLL pick-n-place machine. Mechanical design of the machine is carefully formulated by taking into account the aspects of carrier (truck) type and the strength of build-material. The concept of the design is simple yet tough. The machine is designed to be flexible in mounting position whether it is mounted in the left or right side of the carrier deck. From the experiment, the maximum speed of the carrier when managing the KLL was ± 10 km/hour

    General Overhaul (GOH) is so much on the HD785-7 unit that it requires speed, accuracy, and discipline during the process so that the target can be met. Slow speed is influenced by several factors, one of which is the process of installing rear suspension. Now the rear suspension installation process is carried out by 6 manpower using belt-shaped tools that require installation time of ± 2 hours (1 piece) so that it is considered inefficient and unsafe for mechanics. The purpose of this research is to design special tools so that the process is faster, safer, and the number of mechanics decreases. The method used in this study is Seven-Ups ++ Innovation Method so that innovation activities can run in rules and produce optimal output. The results obtained from the design of this special tool is that the rear suspension install process is only carried out by 3 manpower, is safer, and the installation time is ± 30 minutes (1 piece)
