Behind The Screen: How Virtual Peer Conformity Affects Cyberbullying Behavior on Indonesian Youth
The increasing cases of cyberbullying among adolescents have become a serious issue in various countries, including Indonesia. One of the factors that influences cyberbullying behavior, both perpetrator and victimization, among adolescents is online peer conformity. With the advancement of technology, interactions within online groups enable peer conformity to occur in a virtual context. However, studies examining cyberbullying and peer conformity in the online context are still limited, most of studies focused on non-online conformity, and cyberbullying victimization. This study examined of how peer conformity in virtual groups influences cyberbullying behavior. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 404 Indonesian adolescents who actively participated in online community or group. The findings revealed a significant positive influence of virtual peer conformity on both cyberbullying perpetration (R² = 0.016, p = 0.011 < 0.05) and victimization (R² = 0.187, p = 0.000 < 0.05). The results can provide empirical grounding for preventive interventions aimed at enhancing adolescents' ability to manage their virtual peer interactions effectively
In vitro evaluation of antioxidant properties of Moringa oleifera, Centella asiatica, and Nigella sativa: individual and combined effects
Oxidative stress, a condition linked to various degenerative diseases, occurs when reactive species build up in the body. These harmful molecules often come by environmental factors like air pollution as well as by unhealthy lifestyle habits. Fortunately, nature gives a defense system: plants produce flavonoids and other phenolic substances that act as natural antioxidants, handling to neutralize reactive species and protecting the body by their damaging effects. The objective of the study was to determine the phytochemical content of extracts of M. oleifera leaf, C. asiatica leaf, and N. sativa Oil and their operation as antioxidants. The study applied both qualitative and quantitative phytochemical tests to measure flavonoid levels in the extracts. Bioactive substances were then identified through GC-MS and LC-HRMS, while antioxidant operation was assessed utilizing the DPPH method. The outcomes were drawn that Moringa oleifera and Centella asiatica extracts contained flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and steroids, while Nigella sativa oil contained terpenoids. Among the three, LC-HRMS screening drawn that Moringa oleifera extract had the highest diversity of flavonoid substances. The outcomes of GC-MS obtained 13 components identified in Nigella sativa oil, one of that was thymoquinone. The antioxidant operation IC50 scores were as follows: 57.943 ± 3.481 µg/mL (M. oleifera), 66.578 ± 1.979 µg/mL (C. asiatica), 56.174 ± 1.604 µg/mL (N. sativa), and 51.128 ± 1.724 µg/mL (polyherbal combination). All the samples demonstrated strong antioxidant operation, and notably, the combination of extracts proved to be more effective than when each to be utilized individually
Antioxidant activity of silver nanoparticles synthesized using Tulak wood leaf extract (schefflera elliptica harms)
Nanoparticles have been used in therapies applied to target specific parts. By delivering electrons to free radicals, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) can reduce their activity and stop a chain reaction that would otherwise result in the creation of more free radicals. But the most common way to create silver nanoparticles is to use a variety of organic and inorganic reducing agents to chemically reduce silver precursors, usually silver salts. Various stabilizing or capping agents are frequently used to this process. Green synthesis and other ecologically friendly synthesis techniques are becoming more popular for producing metal nanoparticles that adhere to biodiversity principles. Accordingly, this study has determined that the tulak tree is a plant that effectively reduces green space. This study uses different concentrations of AgNO3 solution at 1 mM and 2 mM. A Particle Size Analyzer's (PSA), The distribution of sizes of the artificially produced AgNPs was examined. The particles measuring between 1 and 100 nm made from the Tulak wood leaf extract with the corresponding AgNO3 concentrations had average diameters of 88.2 nm and 16.9 nm. AgNPs were also shown to exist in a range of shapes, encompassing sphere, hexagonal, and triangular ones, according to Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) examination. Antioxidant qualities are displayed by AgNPs made with Tulak wood leaf extract. These antioxidant properties were assessed utilizing DPPH, which has 517 nm is the greatest absorption. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity's outcomes tests show that the AgNPs made using Tulak wood leaf extract biosynthesis have comparatively low antioxidant activity
Adaptive Cooling System Control in Data Center with Reinforcement Learning
Data center cooling system is consuming large amounts of power, which requires effective control to reduce operational costs and deliver optimal server performance. The high power consumption occurs because traditional cooling methods struggle to adapt dynamically to workloads, causing wasteful power consumption. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the use of machine learning methods to improve energy efficiency for data center cooling system. For the experiment, an RL (Reinforcement Learning) model was designed to adjust cooling parameters with dynamic environmental changes. The method focused on optimizing energy efficiency while maintaining stable temperature and humidity control. By applying RL-based control method to PAC system, this study contributed original results that validated the effectiveness of RL-simulated data center environments. Specifically, the stages included developing system model, creating simulations using the PAC control system, and training an RL model with environmental conditions. Data were collected from simulations and analyzed to test the model performance, and the outcomes were presented using a real-time monitoring interface with Flask. The results showed that the RL model achieved an average reward of 4.76 (between -5 and 5), a convergence rate 13.2, a sampling efficiency 10.15, and a stability score 2.6. The model effectively reduced temperature and increased humidity during stressed data center operations. When compared with a fixed cooling system, RL showed superior adaptability to workload variations and reduced unnecessary energy consumption. However, scalability to real data center remained an issue, which required more than simulation validation. In conclusion, the RL-based method optimized efficiency of cooling system, showing the potential to improve energy savings and operational resilience in data center environments
Evaluating the Physical Mobility Levels and Well Being of Elders: Insights from the Countryside Setting of the Philippines
The pandemic significantly affected the health and well-being of elders, especially in disadvantaged communities. This study examines the physical mobility and well-being of elders aged 60-80 in Samar, Philippines. A descriptive research design was used to survey forty (40) voluntarily participating members of the Senior Citizens’ Organization. Physical mobility in both indoor and outdoor activities was assessed, with well-being self-reported by participants. Results showed a high percentage engaged in stretching and walking exercises, while the majority had irregular sleep patterns. However, many did not engage in household chores, market visits, or entrepreneurial activities. The study recommends establishing targeted educational and community-centric intervention programs among Local Government Units (LGUs) to enhance the physical health, cognitive functioning, and overall well-being of elders
Harnessing Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Thought Stopping Techniques: Transformative Group Counseling to Combat Sexual Violence among Inmates
Sexual violence is a social phenomenon that remains widespread in Indonesia, involving not only adults but also children, both as victims and perpetrators. One form of sexual violence includes physical actions such as kissing, touching, and penetration, which stem from negative thoughts. Interventions are needed to address this behavior, one of which is group counseling based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) with the thought stopping technique. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using CBT with the thought stopping technique in reducing sexual violence behavior among inmates. The research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consists of 10 inmates in the experimental group and 10 in the control group, selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale, and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov Two Independent Samples, supported by SPSS version 26.0. The results show that: (1) the experimental group experienced a significant reduction in sexual violence behavior, reaching a low category; (2) the control group remained in the moderate category; (3) there were significant differences before and after the intervention between the experimental and control groups. Group counseling using CBT with the thought stopping technique is proven effective and can serve as an alternative intervention to address sexual violence
Optimization of Vehicle Detection at Intersections Using the YOLOv5 Model
This study aims to analyze and evaluate the performance of the YOLOv5 model in detecting vehicles at intersections to optimize traffic flow. The methods used in this research include training the YOLOv5 model with traffic datasets collected from various intersections and optimizing hyperparameters to achieve the best detection accuracy. The study results show that the optimized YOLOv5 model can detect multiple types of vehicles with high accuracy. The model achieved a detection accuracy of 85.47% for trucks, 87.12% for pedestrians, 86.54% for buses, 77.20% for cars, 80.48% for motorcycles, and 78.80% for bicycles. Significant improvements in detection performance were achieved compared to the default model. This research concludes that the optimization of the YOLOv5 model is effective in improving vehicle detection accuracy at intersections. Implementing this optimized model can significantly contribute to traffic management, reduce congestion, and improve road safety. It is expected that the implementation of this technology can be more widely applied for more efficient traffic management in various major cities
Early Mobilization Therapy Robot for Medical Rehabilitation Purpose
Impairments in ambulation may result from neurological dysfunction. The expense of therapy constitutes a substantial obstacle to recovery following neurological disorders. An uncomplicated and cost-effective two-degree-of-freedom early mobilization trainer robot has been conceived and constructed. This device is intended for early training or adaptation before ready for mobilization training on the ground. The early mobilization trainer assists persons with mobility impairments during their early therapy phase. This research analyses the design and construction of an early mobilization trainer positioned within the patient's bed. The experimental findings indicate that in the condition with load at the hip joint, the output of this device can follow the trajectory input precisely. For the knee joint, the output of this device can follow the trajectory input, but with 0.9 degree of a steady-state error. This amount of steady state error does not affect the therapy because it is too small in term of knee movement precision during therapy
Personality at Work: Understanding HEXACO Traits Behind Citizenship Behavior
Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) plays a crucial role in organizational effectiveness; however, not all employees are willing to demonstrate such voluntary behaviors. This study aims to examine the influence of HEXACO personality dimensions on OCB among millennial employees. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 331 participants who had worked for at least one year. Measurements were conducted using validated HEXACO and OCB scales, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that the HEXACO model significantly predicts OCB (R² = 0.518; p < 0.001). Partially, Honesty-Humility, Extraversion, and Agreeableness have a significant positive effect on OCB, whereas Emotionality, Conscientiousness, and Openness are not significant predictors. These findings highlight that ethical character, social engagement, and cooperative tendencies represent key personality factors that promote extra-role behaviors and contribute positively to organizational performance
Occupational stress, self-undermining behavior, and perceived social support among Indonesian seafarers: A quantitative correlational study
This study aimed to examine the correlational relationship between work stress and self-undermining behavior on perceived social support among Indonesian seafarers. The sample consisted of 185 seafarers working on domestic and international shipping routes. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires, including the Work Stress Scale, Self-Undermining Behavior Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Analyses were conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality, Spearman correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results indicated that work stress (r = -0.177, p = 0.016) and self-undermining behavior (r = -0.176, p = 0.017) were significantly negatively correlated with social support, suggesting that higher work stress or self-undermining behavior is associated with lower perceived social support. However, multiple regression analysis revealed that these variables simultaneously did not significantly predict social support (R² = 0.004, p = 0.703), indicating that other factors contribute more substantially to seafarers’ perceptions of social support. These findings highlight the need for organizational interventions to strengthen social support systems in seafarers’ work environments and offer theoretical implications for understanding the dynamics of work stress and self-undermining behavior in maritime work contexts
