    Growth and Nickel Absorption of Green Mustard (Brassica rapa L.) on Nickel-Contaminated Soil

    The waste generated by the nickel mining business has the potential to reduce soil fertility, causing plants not to grow normally and produce optimally. In fact, due to the high Ni content in the soil, it will be absorbed by the plants so that it cannot be used as food. The study aimed to determine the growth and absorption of nickel in mustard greens by applying compost and liquid fertilizer to nickel-polluted soil. The study used a randomized block design (RAK) with liquid fertilizer (PC) and compost application. The treatment consisted of (1) control (no PC + no compost); (2) Without PC+ compost 15 tonnes/ha; (3) Without PC + compost 20 tonnes/ha; (4) Without PC+25 tons/ ha; (5) PC 10 ml/liter + No compost; (6) PC 10 ml/liter + compost 15 tons/ha; (7) PC 10 ml/liter + compost 20 tons/ha; (8) PC 10 ml/liter + compost 25 tons/ha, which was repeated 3 times and consisted of 3 plants in each treatment. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and further testing with BNJ Test 0.05. The results showed that mustard plants on nickel-contaminated soil could grow normally and without poisoning symptoms. The application of 4 liters/ha of liquid fertilizer and 25 tons/ha of compost produced a higher number of leaves and fresh weight of mustard plants and were significantly different from other treatments. Mustard plants can absorb and accumulate nickel in the roots and leaves in the range of 425-455 mg/kg plant dry weight. Using green mustard plants in remediating land contaminated with heavy metals, especially nickel, can be an alternative by adding compost and liquid fertilizer to increase the biomass of mustard plants. However, it still has to be appropriately monitored, and the plants produced are not recommended for consumption.Limbah yang dihasilkan usaha penambangan nikel berpotensi menurunkan tingkat kesuburan tanah yang menyebabkan tanaman tidak dapat tumbuh normal dan menghasilkan produksi secara optimal. Bahkan, akibat tingginya kandungan Ni dalam tanah akan terserap ke dalam tanaman sehingga tanaman ini tidak dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pangan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan penyerapan nikel pada tanaman sawi melalui aplikasi kompos dan pupuk cair pada tanah tercemar nikel. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan perlakuan aplikasi pupuk cair (PC) dan kompos. Perlakuan terdiri atas (1) kontrol (Tanpa PC+Tanpa kompos); (2) Tanpa PC+ kompos 15 ton/ ha; (3) Tanpa PC + kompos 20 ton/ ha; (4) Tanpa PC+25 ton/ ha; (5) PC 10 ml/liter + Tanpa kompos; (6) PC 10 ml/liter + kompos 15 ton/ha; (7) PC 10 ml/liter + kompos 20 ton/ha; (8) PC 10 ml /lter + kompos 25 ton/ha, yang diulang 3 kali dan terdiri atas 3 tanaman pada setiap perlakuan. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan Anova dan uji lanjut dengan Uji BNJ 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman sawi yang ditanam pada tanah yang tercemar nikel, dapat tumbuh  normal dan tanpa gejala keracunan. Pemberian pupuk cair 4 liter/ha dan kompos sebanyak 25 ton/ha menghasilkan jumlah daun dan bobot segar tanaman sawi yang lebih tinggi dan berbeda nyata dengan perlakukan lainnya. Tanaman sawi mampu menyerap dan mengakumulasi nikel pada akar dan daun berada pada kisaran 425-455 mg/kg bobot kering tanaman. Penggunaan tanaman sawi hijau dalam meremediasi lahan terkontaminasi logam berat khususnya nikel  dapat menjadi alternatif dengan melakukan penambahan kompos dan pupuk cair untuk meningkatkan biomassa tanaman sawi. Akan tetapi peenelitian harus diawasi dengan baik dan tanaman yang dihasilkan tidak disarankan untuk dikonsumsi, karena mengandung logam berat yang cukup tinggi

    Land in the coastal area has not been optimally utilized for agricultural land due to a number of issues, both economically and in terms of cultivation practices. An idea for maximizing the land's potential so that it can be more productive and deliver concrete benefits to the community is required. Sunflower cultivation is one technique to make use of coastal land. The goal of this study was to see how well sunflowers grew and yielded on unused land in coastal areas. The study used a randomized block design, with treatments of three sunflower kinds and two accessions repeated three times. The findings revealed that sunflowers have the potential to be grown on undeveloped land along the coast of the United States.Lahan yang terdapat disepanjang daerah pantai pemanfaatannya untuk lahan pertanian masih tergolong belum optimal karena dihadapkan pada beberapa permasalahan yang masih belum banyak terpecahkan dari segi praktek dan ekonomisnya. Untuk itu perlu suatu gagasan dalam mengoptimalkan potensi lahan tersebut agar dapat lebih produktif dan memberikan manfaat yang nyata pada masyarakat. Salah satunya adalah melakukan pengembangan tanaman bunga matahari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil bunga matahari pada lahan tidur di daerah pantai kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan penanaman 3 varietas dan 2 aksesi bunga matahari yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bunga matahari sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan pada  lahan tidur di daerah pantai Pesisir Selatan. Aksesi Ha1 menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan aksesi Ha15 dan varietas Kanigara, Lokal Jumbo serta IPB BM1

    KAJIAN SIFAT FISIKA KIMIA TANAH INCEPTISOL DI BERBAGAI KELERENGAN DAN KEDALAMAN TANAH PADA AREAL PERTANAMAN KAKAO

    This study aims to examine some of the physical and chemical characteristics of the inceptisol soil on various slopes and soil depths in the cocoa planting area. The method used in this research is descriptive method by conducting surveys and taking soil samples based on land position, namely slopes of 3%, 15%, and 40% at depths of 0-25 cm and 25-50 cm, respectively. The results showed that the soil texture on all slopes and soil depths was clay texture. The percentage of clay in the upper layer (0-25 cm) was higher than that in the lower layer (25-50 cm) on the 3 and 40% slopes, while on the 15% slope the opposite occurred. The pH value of each slope and depth ranges from 4.52-5.35 with acid criteria. Bulk density on the slope of 3% and 40% on the top layer (0-25 cm) is lower than the bottom layer (25-50 cm), except for the 15% slope. The bulk density of the top and bottom layers is in the same range. Porosity and soil permeability decrease with the slope height both at the top soil depth (0-25 cm) and at the bottom depth (25-50 cm). Organic C, total N, available P and available K of each slope (3%, 15%, and 40%) decreased from the upper layer (0-25 cm) to the lower layer (25 50 cm).This study aims to examine some of the physical, chemical, and soil characteristics of Inceptisols at various slopes and soil depths in the cocoa plantation area.     Analisis Kelayakan Usahatani Padi di Kecamatan Cawas Kabupaten Klaten

    Rice is a staple food that is difficult to replace with other alternative foods. This makes the level of rice consumption in Indonesia quite high. Land use in Cawas District has shifted a lot to settlements and the area of ??land use for agriculture is decreasing. This indirectly implies that most of the farmers in Cawas Sub-district have shifted their land use from agricultural land to residential land because the previous farming no longer provides a profit. Farm income can be used as an indicator of farmer welfare, the higher the net income received by farmers, the higher the economic welfare level of farmers. In this regard, it is necessary to further analyze the level of use of costs, revenues, income, and the feasibility of farming so that it is known to what extent rice farming can guarantee the economic welfare of farmers' households. This research was conducted by interview method with the Mugi Subur farmer group in Cawas District and was carried out in March. Farming income analysis can be done by conducting interviews regarding the use of farming costs and the price of rice at harvest. Furthermore, based on the data, the Break Event Point (BEP) value, R/C ratio, and B/C ratio were calculated to determine the feasibility of farming. The results showed that rice farming in Cawas District provides benefits for farmers and is feasible to cultivate.Beras masih menjadi pangan pokok masyarakat Indonesia, sulit untuk menggantikan beras dengan alternatif pangan lain, dan hal tersebut menjadikan tingkat konsumsi beras tinggi. Masyarakat Kecamatan Cawas banyak memanfaatkan lahan pertanian untuk ditanami padi, Kecamatan Cawas masuk dalam peringkat tiga besar penghasil padi terbesar di Kabupaten Klaten dengan luas area panen sebesar 4.144 Ha. Tingginya konsumsi beras sebagai pangan pokok mendorong banyak petani untuk memanfaatkan lahan atau sawah yang dimiliki dengan ditanami padi. Pendapatan usahatani dapat digunakan sebagai indikator kesejahteraan petani, semakin tinggi pendapatan bersih yang diterima oleh petani kemungkinan tingkat kesejahteraan petani secara ekonomi semakin tinggi. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, maka perlu dianalisis lebih lanjut mengenai tingkat penggunaan biaya, penerimaan, pendapatan, dan kelayakan usahatani sehingga diketahui sejauh mana usahatani padi dapat menjamin kesejahteraan ekonomi rumah tangga petani. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode wawancara dengan kelompok tani Mugi Subur di Kecamatan Cawas dan dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret. Analisis pendapatan usahatani dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara kepada mengenai penggunaan biaya usahatani dan harga padi saat panen dan selanjutnya berdasarkan data tersebut dihitung nilai Break Event Point (BEP) dan R/C ratio untuk menentukan kelayakan usahatani.     KOMPOSISI HASIL TANGKAPAN SODO’ (SCOOP NET) PADA MALAM DAN DINI HARI DI KECAMATAN MALLUSETASI KABUPATEN BARRU

    District, Barru Regency, use a scoop (scoop net), or in local terms, it is known as Sodo', making it their main fishing tool using light aids. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the catch of sodo' (scoop net) operated in Mallusetasi District, Barru Regency. Data collection was carried out in May – September 2021. The method used in this study was a survey method with observation, interviews, and documentation. Data collection was carried out with seven repetitions (7 trips) of operation, namely 7 times at night and 7 times in the early morning. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the composition of the catch obtained at night was dominated by one to two types of fish caught: anchovies and reborn shrimp. While the fishing operations in the early hours varied in terms of type and size, consisting of anchovies, tembang fish, mackerel, tuna, flying fish, and pepetek.Pengetahuan tentang scoop net sebagai alat penangkapan ikan utama masih terbatas, dikarenakan scoop net merupakan jenis alat penangkapan yang bersifat alternatively dan bukan merupakan commercial fishing gear. Namun demikian, nelayan di perairan  Kecamatan Mallusetasi Kabupaten Barru, serok (scoop net)  yang dikenal dengan istilah Sodo’ merupakan alat penangkapan ikan utama dengan menggunakan alat bantu cahaya.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui komposisi hasil tangkapan sodo’ (scoop net) yang dioperasikan di Kecamatan Mallusetasi Kabupaten Barru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada Bulan Mei – September 2021. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei  (Singarimbun dan Efendi, 1989).Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan tujuh kali ulangan (7 trip) pengoperasian, yaitu 7 kali pada malam hari dan tujuh kali pengulanan pada dini hari. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penenlitian menunjukkan komposisi hasil tangkapan yang diperoleh pada malam hari dominan satu hingga dua jenis ikan yang tertangkap sedangkan operasi penangkapan pada dini hari bervariasi baik dari jenis maupun ukuran yaitu terdiri dari empat hingga lima jenis ikan

    Ultisol as agricultural land has low fertility which is characterized by pH, cation exchange capacity, nutrient availability, and very low organic matter content, thus inhibiting plant growth and production. To overcome the low productivity of these ultisols, it is necessary to improve soil fertility, which includes improving the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil. Soil fertility can be improved by using organic fertility plus coal (baraplus) which contains nutrients N, P, K, and micronutrients as well as using high-yielding varieties. This research was conducted in Sukarame sub-district, Palembang city starting from October to December 2018. Research method using field experiment method. Lay out the chart in the field using a spit plot with 9 treatment combinations repeated 3 times. The main plot, namely the types of varieties: bonanza, sweet boy, master sweet. As sub-plot, namely the dose of organic fertilizer plus: 500kg/ha, 1000 kg/ha, 1500 kg/ha. The results showed that the treatment with a dose of organic fertilizer plus 1500 kg/ha with the master sweet variety resulted in the highest production of 8.42 kg/plot or the equivalent of 22.45 tons/ha.Ultisol sebagai lahan pertanian mempunyai tingkat kesuburan rendah yang dicirikan pH, KTK, ketersediaan hara, serta kandungan bahan organik sangat rendah sehingga menghambat pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman. Untuk mengatasi produktivitas yang rendah pada ultisol tersebut, perlu dilakukan usaha perbaikan kesuburan tanah yang meliputi perbaikan sifat fisik, kimia dan biologi tanah.Kesuburan tanah dapat diperbaiki dengan menggunakan pupuk organik plus batubara (baraplus) yang mengandung unsur hara N, P, K dan unsur hara mikro serta menggunakan varietas unggul. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Sukarami Kota Palembang di mulai pada bulan Oktober sampai bulan Desember 2018. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksprimen lapangan.Bagan tata letak di lapangan menggunakan Split Plot dengan 9 kombinasi perlakuan yang diulang 3 kali. Sebagai Petak Utama yaitu Jenis Varietas: Bonanza, Sweet Boy, Master Sweet. Sebagai Anak Petak yaitu Takaran Pupuk Organik Plus: 500 kg/ha, 1000 kg/ha, 1500 kg/ha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan takaran pupuk organik plus 1500 kg/ha dengan varietas master sweet menghasilakan produksi tertinggi sebesar 8,42 kg/petak atau setara 22,45 ton/ha

    Utilization of local microorganisms is important to utilize the potential of the area by utilizing tea waste as a mixture of new alternative culture media for the propagation of Trichoderma sp. The aim of this study was to identify locally specific rhizosphere fungi and determine the appropriate media mix for the propagation of Trichoderma sp. The research consisted of 2 stages. The first stage used a descriptive-exploratory method by taking random soil samples in Kab. Pangkep, Maros, and Gowa on the rhizosphere of maize cultivation. The second stage used a factorial design in RAL (Completely Randomized Design) which consisted of two treatment factors, namely: Factor I. Administration of the fungus Trichoderma sp. (C), c1 = Trichoderma sp. from Pangkep, c2 = Trichoderma sp. from Goa. While factor II is the growing medium (M), m1 = 200 g rice, m2 = 150 g rice + 50 g tea waste, m3 = 100 g rice + 100 g tea waste, m4 = 50 g rice + 150 g tea waste, m5 = tea dregs 200 g, There were 10 treatment combinations, each treatment combination was repeated 3 times so that there were 30 experimental units in total. The results of the study showed that 8 fungi isolates were obtained from the rhizosphere fungi from corn from Pangkep, Maros, and Gowa. Fungus isolates from Pangkep Regency 3 isolates (Trichoderma sp, black Aspergillus sp, green Aspergillus sp), Maros Regency 2 isolates (black Aspergillus sp, Verticellium sp), and Gowa Regency 3 isolates (Trichoderma sp, green Aspergillus sp, Verticellium sp ).     Effect of Feeding Frequency on Finisher Phase Broiler Performance and Production

    This study aims to determine the effect of the feeding frequency on the performance and production of finisher phase broilers. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each cage consisted of 5 chickens, so 80 chickens aged 22 days were used and maintained for 2 weeks. Treatments included giving once (at 17.00), twice (at 07.00 and 19.00), three times (at 07.00, 15.00, and 23.00), and four times (at 05.00, 11.00, 17.00, 23.00). Parameters measured were consumption performance, weight gain, feed conversion, and broiler production which consisted of carcass percentage and abdominal fat. The results showed that the feeding frequency on broiler performance and production had no significant effect (P> 0.05). Feeding once is the best treatment with efficiency based on time and effort.This study aims to determine the effect of feeding frequency on the performance and production of finisher phase broilers. Parameters measured were performance consisting of consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion and broiler production consisting of carcass and abdominal fat percentages. The results showed that the frequency of feeding on broiler performance and production showed no significant effect (P>0.05). conclusion based on research that feeding once  is the best treatment because it is efficient based on time and energy

    SISTEM AGRIBISNIS DAN KELAYAKAN USAHATANI JAHE GAJAH (Zingiber officinale var. officinale)

    One of the agricultural development goals is to develop farming businesses that spur economic activity, create jobs and improve people's welfare. The research was conducted in Barugae Village, Mallawa District, Maros Regency. The location selection was carried out purposively, considering that Barugae Village is one of the centers for developing elephant ginger in Maros Regency. The purpose of this study was to analyze (1) the implementation of elephant ginger farming, (2) the production and income of elephant ginger farming, and (3) the feasibility level of elephant ginger farming. The method used in selecting the sample is simple random sampling. This study uses descriptive analysis, production and income analysis, and feasibility analysis. The results showed that the implementation of the elephant ginger farming agribusiness system did not work well because the farming subsystem needed to comply with the advice of extension agents, and support services were generally unavailable. The average elephant ginger production at the farm level is 3,029.41 kg, the production per hectare is 6,885.03 kg/Ha, and the average income of farmers is Rp. 18,176,470.59, and the income per hectare is Rp. 41,310,160.43 /Ha. The income level of elephant ginger farming received by farmers is IDR 17,151,241.69 and IDR 38,980,094.75 / Ha. The value of the R/C - a ratio of elephant ginger farming is 17.73, meaning that elephant ginger farming in Barugae Village, Mallawa District, Maros Regency, is feasible and profitable because the amount of revenue is higher than the costs incurred.Salah satu Tujuan pembangunan pertanian adalah menumbuh-kembangkan usaha pertanian yang akan memacu aktivitas ekonomi, menciptakan lapangan kerja dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Barugae, Kecamatan Mallawa di Kabupaten Maros. Pemilihan lokasi dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive) dengan pertimbangan bahwa Desa Barugae merupakan salah satu sentra pengembangan tanaman Jahe gajah di Kabupaten Maros. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Menganalisis penerapan sistem agribisnis usahatani jahe gajah, (2) Menganalisis produksi dan pendapatan usahatani Jahe gajah  dan (3) Menganalisis tingkat kelayakan usahatani jahe gajah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pemilihan sampel adalah acak sederhana (simple random sampling). Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis produksi dan pendapatan dan analisis kelayakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sistem agribisnis usahatani jahe gajah tidak berjalan dengan baik karena subsistem usahatani tidak sesuai anjuran penyuluh dan jasa layanan pendukung umumnya tidak tersedia. Produksi jahe gajah rata-rata di tingkat usahatani yaitu sebesar 3.029,41 kg dan produksi perhektar yaitu sebesar 6.885,03 kg/Ha dan penerimaan rata-rata petani yaitu sebesar Rp18.176.470,59 dan penerimaan perhektar yaitu sebesar Rp 41.310.160,43/Ha.     Indonesia's flora germplasm diversity can be used as a potential source of natural growth regulators. The study's goal was to compare the auxin, cytokinin, and gibberellin content of various horticultural plant extracts: onion tubers (Allium ascalonicum), a banana weevil (Musa x paradisiaca), Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), sweet corn seeds (Zea mays), and green bean sprouts (Vigna radiata). The research was carried out at Jenderal Sudirman University's Research Laboratory from June 2019 to February 2020. The sample was prepared in the Chemical Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture's Postharvest Center in Bogor for analysis of auxin (IAA/Indole Acetic Acid), cytokinins (kinetin and zeatin), and gibberellins (GA3/ Gibberellic Acid). RAL (Completely Randomized Design) was used as the experimental design. The F test and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) were used to further examine the data. Endogenous hormone content was determined in five ingredients: shallot bulbs (Allium ascalonicum), banana hump (Musa x paradisiaca), Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), sweet corn seeds (Zea mays), and green bean sprouts (Vigna radiata). Moringa leaves had the highest IAA content, 662.17 ppm, according to the findings. Similarly, the highest kinetin content was found in banana weevil and Moringa leaves, with 178.82 ppm and 161.37 ppm, respectively. Shallot bulbs had the highest GA3 content, at 594.12 ppm. This demonstrates that the four plant types can be used as sources of plant hormones.Keanekaragamaan plasma nutfah flora di Indonesia dapat digunakan sebagai sumber potensial zat pengatur tumbuh alami. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan kandungan auksin, sitokinin, dan giberelin berbagai ekstrak bahan organik: umbi bawang merah, (Allium ascalonicum), bonggol pisang (Musa x paradisiaca), daun kelor (Moringa oleifera), biji jagung manis (Zea mays), dan kecambah kacang hijau (Vigna radiata). Penelitian dilakukan pada Juni 2019 sampai Februari 2020 di Laboratorium riset, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman untuk preparasi sampel dan Laboratorium kimia, Balai Besar Pascapanen, Kementerian Pertanian, Bogor untuk analisis kandungan auksin (IAA/Indole Acetid Acid), sitokinin (kinetin dan zeatin), dan giberelin (GA3/ Gibberellic Acid). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Data dianalisis dengan uji F dan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Lima bahan yang dianalisis kandungan hormon endogenous yaitu umbi bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum), bonggol pisang (Musa x paradisiaca), daun kelor (Moringa oleifera), biji jagung manis (Zea mays), dan kecambah kacang hijau (Vigna radiata). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daun kelor mempunyai kandungan IAA yang paling tinggi 662,17 ppm diikuti bawang merah 251,76 ppm; kecambah kacang hijau 227,37 ppm; bonggol pisang 94,20 ppm; dan biji jagung 62,20 ppm. Bonggol pisang dan daun kelor mempunyai kandungan kinetin terbanyak 178,82 ppm dan 161,37 ppm diikuti biji jagung 128,25 ppm; kecambah kacang hijau 125 ppm; dan umbi bawang merah 75,54 ppm. Kandungan zeatin terbanyak dalam bonggol pisang 138,53 ppm diikuti kecambah kacang hijau 95,45 ppm; daun kelor 66,5 ppm; biji jagung 45,76 ppm, dan umbi bawang merah 23,77 ppm. Kandungan GA3 terbanyak terdapat pada umbi bawang merah 594,12 ppm; diikuti daun kelor 417,88 ppm; kecambah kacang hijau 371,56 ppm; biji jagung manis 269,75 ppm; dan bonggol pisang 104,12 ppm
