Genome‐Wide Association Studies Reveal the Genetic Architecture of Ionomic Variation in Grains of Tartary Buckwheat
Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) is esteemed as a medicinal crop due to its high nutritional and health value. However, the genetic basis for the variations in Tartary buckwheat grain ionome remains inadequately understood. Through genome-wide association studies (GWAS) on grain ionome, 52 genetic loci are identified associated with 10 elements undergoing selection. Molecular experiments have shown that the variation in FtACA13’s promoter (an auto-inhibited Ca2+-ATPase) is accountable for grain sodium concentration and salt tolerance, which underwent selection during domestication. FtYPQ1 (a vacuolar amino acid transporter) exhibits zinc transport activity, enhancing tolerance to excessive zinc stress and raising zinc accumulation. Additionally, FtNHX2 (a Na+/H+ exchanger) positively regulates arsenic content. Further genomic comparative analysis of “20A1” (wild accession) and “Pinku” (cultivated accession) unveiled structural variants in key genes involved in ion uptake and transport that may result in considerable changes in their functions. This research establishes the initial comprehensive grain ionome atlas in Tartary buckwheat, which will significantly aid in genetic improvement for nutrient biofortification
Novel approach to probing top-philic resonances with boosted four-top tagging
We introduce a novel search strategy for heavy top-philic resonances that induce new contributions to four-top production at the LHC. We capitalize on recent advances in top-tagging performance to demonstrate that the final state, that is expected to be boosted based on current limits, can be fully reconstructed and exploited. Notably, our approach promises bounds on new physics cross sections that are a few to 60 times stronger than those obtained with existing searches, showcasing its unprecedented effectiveness in probing top-philic new physics

We report the first synthesis of the powdery heterogeneous catalyst using spark ablation technology. The resulting Ni/TiO2 catalyst is readily active in the hydrogenation of CO2 to CH4. This disclosed method opens new avenues for heterogeneous catalyst preparation

Bridging the Gap Between CKD Management Paradigms in Transplant and Nontransplant Settings: Published Evidence, Challenges, and Perspectives.
Kidney transplantation (KT) is the best treatment for patients with kidney failure, associated with improved survival and quality of life compared with maintenance dialysis. However, despite constant improvements in the assessment and management of the alloimmune response, KT patients frequently demonstrate a reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate. Therefore, the usual complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD), such as anemia, hypertension, metabolic acidosis, hyperkalemia, or persistent secondary hyperparathyroidism, are highly prevalent after KT. However, their underlying mechanisms are different in the transplant setting (compared with the nontransplanted CKD population), and management recommendations are based on relatively poor-quality data. In recent years, new therapies have emerged, significantly improving kidney and cardiovascular outcomes of non-KT patients with CKD. Whether those new drugs could improve the outcomes of KT patients has largely been under investigated so far. In this review, we will address the challenges of the management of a KT patient with a reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate, cover the published evidence, and highlight the critical knowledge gaps
