Sicherheit von Unternehmensdaten auf Mobilen Endgeräten
No full textMobile Endgeräte werden mit zunehmender Tendenz in unternehmensweite Anwendungen integriert. Damit stellt sich verstärkt die Frage nach der Sicherheit der sich auf den Geräten befindlichen Unternehmensdaten. Dieser Beitrag analysiert die wesentlichen Szenarien, die zum Verlust bzw. Missbrauch von auf mobilen Endgeräten gespeicherten Daten führen, und diskutiert Ansätze zur Sicherung dieser Daten. Insbesondere werden dabei Schutzmechanismen gegen den Verlust des mobilen Endgerätes, gegen den reinen Datenverlust und Mechanismen gegen das Abhören der Datenübertragung erörtert. Dabei werden sowohl allgemeingültige Prinzipien als auch endgerätspezifische Merkmale betrachtet.Mobile devices are increasingly integrated in enterprise applications. As a consequence this intensifies the concern about the stored enterprise data. This paper analyses the most relevant scenarios leading to the loss or the abuse of data stored on mobile devices and shows approaches how to increase data security, detailing about preventive measures in the case of device loss, securing against direct data loss as well as actions to increase data transmission security. The results incorporate commonly usable principles and device specific characteristics
Regionale Potenziale für die Bereitstellung von Energieholz – Ergebnisse einer Studie in Nord-Ost Brandenburg
No full textDie dezentrale Bereitstellung und Nutzung von Energie aus holzartiger Biomasse kann sowohl zu Klimaschutzzielen als auch zur wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung ländlicher Gebiete beitragen. Im Projekt belo-net [1] werden anhand der Region Nord-Ost-Brandenburg Ansatzpunkte für Kooperationen in regionalen Wertschöpfungsketten mit Schwerpunkt auf dem Bereich der Energieholzlogistik untersucht. Zur Bildung geographischer Handlungsschwerpunkte werden eine Rohstoff- und eine Infrastrukturanalyse kombiniert. Im Ergebnis können mögliche Standorte für Biomassehöfe, die als Lager-, Umschlagund Verteilzentren wesentliche logistische Elemente regionaler Energieholzstrategien sind, identifiziert und bewertet werden. Waldenergieholz könnte in Nord-Ost-Brandenburg je nach Mobilisierung und Nutzung der vorhandenen Rohstoffpotenziale 5 – 6 % des regionalen Wärmebedarfs decken.Sustainable production of energy from forest biomass helps protecting the climate and contributes to a balanced economic development in rural areas. In the northeast of Brandenburg the conditions for bio-energy production are very good. Important means to gain access to unused biomass resources, especially in the private forests, are the cooperation of companies in regional value chains and – as logistical hubs – regional storage and distribution centres. This paper introduces a method using geographical information systems (G.I.S.) to identify areas with sufficient resources for developing value chains and setting up storage and distribution centres. In the first step, we modelled the geographical distribution of forest biomass potentials based on planning data of the forest administration. By combining these data with an analysis of infrastructure for transport and storage, we could identify more than 40 suitable sites for storage and distribution centres. If mobilisation projects take effect forest biomass could contribute a share of 5 – 6 % to the heat supply in northeastern Brandenburg
Quantitative High-Resolution Genomic Analysis of Single Cancer Cells
No full textDuring cancer progression, specific genomic aberrations arise that can determine the scope of the disease and can be used as predictive or prognostic markers. The detection of specific gene amplifications or deletions in single blood-borne or disseminated tumour cells that may give rise to the development of metastases is of great clinical interest but technically challenging. In this study, we present a method for quantitative high-resolution genomic analysis of single cells. Cells were isolated under permanent microscopic control followed by high-fidelity whole genome amplification and subsequent analyses by fine tiling array-CGH and qPCR. The assay was applied to single breast cancer cells to analyze the chromosomal region centred by the therapeutical relevant EGFR gene. This method allows precise quantitative analysis of copy number variations in single cell diagnostics

No full textThe analysis of intercultural misunderstandings constitutes an important core area of intercultural studies. They deal with documented special situations of intercultural contact where failure has already been refl ected during the respective interaction. However, intercultural practice also knows »hidden« misunderstandings which are not perceived as intercultural misunderstandings by the interactors but which in the end might lead to negative results as well. The present contribution discusses the possibilities of a heuristic approach to examining these hidden misunderstandings using the example of an application interview. In order to explain the cultural causes of a hidden misunderstanding, established terms like common knowledge, values and judgments as well as cognitive schemes are applied. Identification of Clinically Relevant Protein Targets in Prostate Cancer with 2D-DIGE Coupled Mass Spectrometry and Systems Biology Network Platform
No full textProstate cancer (PCa) is the most common type of cancer found in men and among the leading causes of cancer death in the western world. In the present study, we compared the individual protein expression patterns from histologically characterized PCa and the surrounding benign tissue obtained by manual micro dissection using highly sensitive two-dimensional differential gel electrophoresis (2D-DIGE) coupled with mass spectrometry. Proteomic data revealed 118 protein spots to be differentially expressed in cancer (n = 24) compared to benign (n = 21) prostate tissue. These spots were analysed by MALDI-TOF-MS/MS and 79 different proteins were identified. Using principal component analysis we could clearly separate tumor and normal tissue and two distinct tumor groups based on the protein expression pattern. By using a systems biology approach, we could map many of these proteins both into major pathways involved in PCa progression as well as into a group of potential diagnostic and/or prognostic markers. Due to complexity of the highly interconnected shortest pathway network, the functional sub networks revealed some of the potential candidate biomarker proteins for further validation. By using a systems biology approach, our study revealed novel proteins and molecular networks with altered expression in PCa. Further functional validation of individual proteins is ongoing and might provide new insights in PCa progression potentially leading to the design of novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies
Mobile Phone as an Everyday Life Style Object – The Move from »Plain old Mobile« to »Electronic Brain in your Pocket«
No full textSeit der Einführung des Mobiltelefons hat sich seine Nutzung sehr stark verändert. Mittlerweile sind sie zu wichtigen Hilfsmitteln im täglichen Leben geworden, z. B. als Organizer oder Nachschlagewerk. Hier drängt sich nun die entscheidende Frage auf, inwieweit mobile Dienste Zugriff auf die Daten der Nutzer bekommen. Um dies, aber auch die Akzeptanz von verschiedenen mobilen Diensten zu erforschen, wurden im Rahmen dieses Papiers Umfragen in Berlin und Brandenburg durchgeführt. Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Umfrage war es, herauszufinden, ob die Nutzer bereit sind, private Daten Diensten zur Verfügung zu stellen, damit diese die Daten zu einer großen Menge vereinen, um so Vorschläge zu den Interessen der Nutzer machen zu können.Since the mobile phone was introduced to the market, its way of using changed rapidly. Nowadays it is an important tool, e.g. as organizer or knowledge base in people’s every days life. The important question is now: In which way mobile services will gain influence on private data. For this purpose surveys were conducted in Berlin-Brandenburg to get a serious database and to figure out customer‘s wishes and expectations regarding these services. Another reason for this survey was to find out, whether people are willing to provide their private data to programs or services that combine different kinds of those data, to connect these independent data to a huge database, to make suggestions of people’s interests
Numerische Aspekte einer Mechanik-Aufgabe
No full textDie vorliegende Arbeit entstand aus einem einfachen Mechanik-Problem, das auf eine trigonometrische Gleichung führte. Wir vergleichen am Beispiel dieses Problems verschiedene numerische Verfahren miteinander. Das Hauptziel dieser Arbeit ist nicht die Lösung der Gleichung – sie kann sogar exakt ermittelt werden –, sondern eine Darstellung am konkreten Beispiel, wie man numerische Lösungen gewinnen kann. Insbesondere soll die Bedeutung von Bildern für die numerischen Verfahren betont werden. Schließlich werden einige praktische Aspekte diskutiert, die nur selten konkret in der Literatur beschrieben werden. Beispielsweise bewirkt die schlechte Konditionierung des Problems, dass das Bisektionsverfahren keine eindeutige Lösung im Rahmen der Rechengenauigkeit besitzt.This paper is motivated by a mechanics problem and its trigonometric equation. Based on this problem we compare several numerical solution techniques. The paper’s purpose is not simply the solution of an equation – there is even an exact solution – but a detailed presentation of an example how to obtain a numerical solution. In particular, the presentation stresses the importance of pictures in supporting numerical methods. Moreover the paper discusses some practical aspects that rarely appear in the literature. The bisection method, for instance, fails to produce a unique solution with respect to a given computational accuracy
