Collaboration in Education Services for Children with Special Needs Inclusive School
Get PDFBased on the observations and explanations of special guidance teachers in schools, inclusive education providers that the form of collaboration between teachers and stakeholders is still diverse. In general, this study aims to find out and obtain information about the implementation of collaboration between teachers and stakeholders in education services for children with special needs in schools providing inclusive education in Sukabumi. This research is a quantitative research. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing questionnaires and recording initial data in the form of records that are understood by researchers without reducing the actual data. The results of the study can be concluded that collaboration in several aspects is still lacking such as teacher collaboration with SLB, teacher collaboration with related experts, lack of teacher collaboration with resource centers, teachers are also still lacking collaboration in carrying out learning activities. Meanwhile, there are several aspects that have begun to develop well, including teacher collaboration with parents, as well as teacher collaboration with special guidance teachers in inclusive schools, although not yet dehydrated, maximum results are expected to be a reference in building good collaboration between teachers and related stakeholders in creating effective learning in inclusive education. This study illustrates that inclusive education in its implementation process requires support from teachers and related stakeholders in order to run optimally
Family-based Early Intervention for Expressive Language Skills of Children with Hearing Impairments
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is early to formulate a hypothetical program of family-based early intervention that’s considered feasible and expected to be effective improving expressive language skills in children with hearing impairments. The study used a qualitative approach with family research subjects of deaf children aged 6 years who still have residual hearing and domiciled in Bandung. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Based on the results of empirical analysis of abilities, obstacles, needs of children, and efforts that have been made by the family and its results, and based on the results of theoretical analysis based on ecological theory of family roles and responsibilities, the program focuses on the application of intensive verbal communication in daily pragmatic life by all family members. In order for the program to be implemented properly by families, the principles of consistency, imitation, and attachment, as well as the application of transfer of knowledge and transfer of skills procedures are an important part of the implementation of this program
Literature Review: Orientation and Mobility Assistive Technology for Students with Visual Impairment
Get PDFThe development of increasingly sophisticated technology is accompanied by the discovery of new assistive devices that should be accessible to all people, including the blind in order to maintain or improve functions so as to improve welfare. This study uses a literature review method with descriptive analysis by analyzing 20 articles. The purpose of this research is to examine more related to assistive technology for the blind in navigating indoors and outdoors including buildings and the accessibility of public services. The literature search was carried out through an electronic search for publications from ERIC, Researchgate, Spingerlink, Sage, Science Direct, Google Scholar and IEEE Xplore. The results of the study describe the use of various assistive technologies for the visually impaired related to navigation in spaces or buildings and even the wider environment as well as public services that are commonly accessed by the public. How Urgent is Mobile Authentication in Special Need/Education? A Review Systematic of Cyber Security and Psychological Approach
Get PDFThe use of mobile apps due to the Covid-19 pandemic for the distance learning process, learning media, entertainment, and payment instruments creates an awareness of how urgently cyber security is needed in special education. Students, teachers, parents, and therapists, in special education who has interests and have the responsibility data, must be kept confidential or protected as the authenticity of their work, as well as the diversity of levels of disability, trying to study in a systematic review through scientific journal searches related to contemporary mobile authentication methods, authenticity. The review was conducted through several scientific search engines and mobile apps. The results show that authentication is a challenging study for mobile app (computing) developers but it is not easy to facilitate the unique, diverse needs of disability, and the privacy of personal data is still not following cyber security standards while the need for mobile apps in the health and education sectors is growing rapidly
Application of Universal Design Principles in Public Spaces for Persons With Disabilities

Ease of access to public space is one of the rights to which are owned by them, therefore we need to pay attention to universal design principles so that they also get the right and the opportunity to enjoy the facilities provided by the government. In this research, using library research (library research). The study of literature is a study by using the method of data collection library, or in other words a research object of research is sourced from a variety of literature such as books, encyclopedias, journals and scientific articles. As a result, the application of universal design principles in public spaces for persons with disabilities is still lacking and needs attention. Cognitive Abilities Related to Reading and Writing Skills in Chinese Third-grade Children
Get PDFIn this study, we analysed the cognitive abilities that predict reading and writing attainment in the Chinese language for Mandarin-speaking children. A total of 140 Chinese third-graders studying in Ningbo, Zhejiang were evaluated for their visual cognition including visual perception and memory, naming speed, vocabulary knowledge, phonological skills, nonverbal intelligence, and abilities to read and write. The results of multiple regression analyses revealed that word and nonword reading accuracy were predicted to a significant degree by visual memory and phonological awareness, respectively. Naming speed significantly contributed to the reading speeds regarding words, nonwords, and paragraphs. Our results also showed that the scores in word and nonword reading predicted the scores of writing as well. Visual memory and phonological awareness are essential for reading Chinese accurately, while naming speed is an important factor for Chinese reading fluency. The present results have implications regarding the design of useful tasks that screen poor readers of Chinese
The Interactive Web-Based Learning in Online Learning for Blind Students and Deaf Students in Higher Education
Get PDFOnline learning has been running in Indonesian universities due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Online learning has become a challenge to both parties, lecturers, and students with special needs. The use of several online platforms for learning has not provided accessibility for students who are blind and deaf. To pursue friendly learning in inclusive classrooms for blind and deaf students, then we need a facility that supports learning for blind and deaf students. The purpose of the study is to develop a learning model that can be used for online learning using an interactive website. The interactive Web-Based Learning Model is an innovative learning model which is designed for special needs students to access online learning more effectively. The procedure used in this interactive web-based learning model is that every blind and deaf student can access learning through various devices connected to their cell phone or laptop to make the learning process two-way and effective. The research was conducted using the research & development method which consists of the stages of producing a model product and then validating and testing the model. The result of this study is an online learning model using a website that can present learning material from lecturers in the form of pages that all the menus can be read directly by blind students through a screen reader on their devices (user friendly) and they can send assignments via voice note options. The website is equipped with videos accompanied by subtitles so that it has accessibility to deaf students. This model consists of the following stages: 1) Planning which includes needs analysis and content analysis, 2) The learning process through an interactive website containing structured learning material, interactive learning through video and discussion features, 3) Evaluation includes test and non-test in the form of process and result in analysis
Internal Motivation and Attitude in Implementation of Inclusive Education Program between General Education and PPKI Teachers
Get PDFCollaboration between teachers of the Special Integration Education Program (PPKI) and general education teachers is a key factor in the successful implementation of the inclusive education. Internal motivation factors and the attitude of teachers involved in inclusive education are vital to ensure the smooth implementation of inclusive education. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the internal motivation and attitude toward collaboration between PPKI teachers and general education teachers in the implementation of inclusive education. This study is a survey study using quantitative methods. The theory used in this study is Glasser's Choice Theory. The instrument of this study is a questionnaire adapted from a thesis entitled A Case Study of Collaboration Between General Education Teachers and Special Education Teachers in a Southern Rural High School by Oassie Jean Daniels in 2017. This study involves PPKI teachers and general education teachers in a primary school with a Special Education Integration Program of Learning Disabilities in the district of Pasir Gudang, Johor. The data was analysed using SPSS version 26 software. The findings of the study show that the highest mean score for internal motivation is a sense of belonging while the attitude towards collaboration is teacher cooperation and openness. There is a significant relationship between internal motivation and attitude toward collaboration between PPKI teachers and general education teachers in the implementation of inclusive education. In the future, this study can be conducted on a larger population and use different research theories

The implementation of research in special schools that provide education for mentally disabled students in the East Jakarta area. The research method uses R & D with the development model of Dick and Carey (2009). The sample of the research were teachers of special education who provided learning for mentally disabled students in the East Jakarta area totaling 70 teachers. The sampling technique uses random sampling techniques. Product output is a knowledge textbook of Education for Sustainable Development. The research results show that knowledge books of Education for Sustainable Development can improve teacher knowledge about Education for Sustainable Development
The Effectiveness of Hand Muppet Learning Media Based on Local Wisdom to Improve Cultural Literacy and Citizenship Ability
Get PDFA nation with high cultural literacy describes the competence of its citizens who can think critically, creatively and communicatively in the face of global competition. The main problem of this research is the low level of cultural literacy and citizenship skills of elementary school students. One of the causes of these problems is the low quality of the learning media used in learning in elementary schools. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using hand muppet learning media based on local wisdom and the impact of using hand muppet learning media on increasing cultural literacy skills and citizenship of elementary school students. The research model used is a combination method of an exploratory type. The sample of this research is elementary school students in six Kediri elementary schools who have different characteristics. Based on the research results, it was found that the hand muppet was learning media based on local wisdom that was developed and contributed to increasing the ability of cultural literacy and citizenship.
