The Impact of Perceived Physician Communication Skills on Revisit Intention: A Moderated Mediation Model
This study aims to evaluate the impact of perceived physician communication skills on patients’ revisit intention, focusing on the mediating role of two dimensions of trust and the moderating role of gender. While several studies on revisit intention examine the effect of service quality as a whole, this is one of the few that not only focuses solely on physician-patient communication but also examines both dimensions of trust and revisit intention with the same physician. A cross-sectional survey was employed via questionnaire distribution. A total of 265 valid responses were used for data analysis. The findings revealed that perceived physician communication skills impact trust and revisit intention. Emotional trust was seen to have a full mediating effect on the relationship. Gender had no moderating effect on the proposed relationship, which suggests that irrespective of gender, patients’ expectations and preferences for effective communication are similar. By cultivating a supportive and empathetic attitude, physicians can create a positive emotional environment that enhances patient trust and positive behavioral intention
The Effect of Corporate Entrepreneurship Determinants on the Financial Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): An Empirical Study
This paper examines the effect of corporate entrepreneurship determinants on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) financial performance in Malaysia, including the mediator effect of competitive advantage. A cross-sectional design was adopted, where data were collected from a sample of 221 SMEs utilizing an online questionnaire. Hypotheses were tested using the partial least squares (PLS) approach. The findings revealed a significant relationship between the determinants of corporate entrepreneurship (individual, organizational, and external environment characteristics) and an organization’s financial performance. A mediating effect was also found by including an organization’s competitive advantage in its financial performance. A profound understanding of corporate entrepreneurship determinants by focusing on individual and organizational perspectives can assist SMEs in implementing appropriate strategies to achieve desired financial performance. The capability of SMEs to embed employee entrepreneurial behavior in the workplace is likely to achieve the desired financial performance outcomes effectively. This study advances knowledge on corporate entrepreneurship by proposing relevant determinants and the effect of each determinant on an organization's financial performance in the context of Malaysian SMEs.
ESG Controversy as a Moderator of the Impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance Indicators on High-Profile Companies' Performance in Asia
The purpose of this research paper is to analyze the relationship of each en- vironmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspect to the performance of high-profile companies, and the purpose of this study further analyzes the role of moderating ESG controversies on the relationship of every aspect of ESG disclosure to corporate perfor- mance. Application of research observation data, using observations from 2010 to 2019, is a company in an Asian country listed on the Sustainable Stock Exchange, which requires companies to publish and report ESG aspects. This study excludes the period 2020-2024 from the analysis because the global economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the company to change its priorities. The purposive sampling method was used in this study, obtaining 847 samples of observational data from seven countries in the Asian region. Regression moderation analysis was used to examine the relationship between each aspect of ESG and the performance of high-profile companies with the controversy of ESG as a moderation variable. The study results obtained findings that social and gov- ernance aspects have a positive and significant effect on the performance of high-profile companies. However, environmental aspects were found to be insignificant. The findings of the ESG controversy weaken the relationship between social and governance aspects of high-profile company performance, and the ESG controversy does not moderate the relationship of environmental disclosure to company performance
The Impact of Green Bonds on Firm Value and the Role of ESG: Revisiting the Stakeholder Value Maximization Theory
This study evaluates managers’ motivations in decision-making and whether they aim to maximize value or meet environmental and social pressures at the expense of value. The authors utilize green bonds as a treatment and measure changes in firm value data using Tobin’s Q, controlling for times and individual fixed effects and several company characteristics. This research documents the positive impact of issuing green bonds on a firm's value using the difference-in-differences (DD) method. Our findings are confirmed over the aggregate sample and most of the industry subsample, whereas we observed negative associations between green bonds and firm value only in the industrial subsample (comprising industrial and commercial services, industrial goods, and transportation). These findings align with the hypothesis of the stakeholder value maximizing theory. So, we suggest that, based on the data we analyzed about green bond issuances, companies choose to issue green bonds to increase their overall value
An Ethical Leadership Style and Pro-Environmental Behavior: The Mediating Role of Moral Efficacy
To better comprehend the strategies that leaders follow in shaping their organizations, the study of ethical leadership has become increasingly relevant. This study investigates pro-environmental behavior and ethical leadership using a survey of 420 employees from various manufacturing organizations. It examined moral efficacy's role as a mediator between ethical leadership style and environmental behavior, drawing on insights from the social learning theory. The study employed structural equation modeling to test hypotheses. The findings indicate that there is a significant association between ethical leadership, pro-environmental behavior, and moral efficacy. The moral efficacy of employees serves as a mediator in the association between ethical leadership and pro-environmental behavior. It is important to note that moral efficacy does not act as a significant mediator in the relationship between ethical leadership and pro-environmental behavior. This analysis is specifically focused on the manufacturing sector; however, additional research may be performed in the context of service sector enterprises. It is recommended that moderating and mediating variables such as self-esteem, job involvement, and moral courage be explored in future studies to enhance the comprehension of the construct of ethical leadership
Factors Causing Panic Purchasing Behavior in the COVID-19 Pandemic and Customer Satisfaction With Government Intervention as Moderating Variable
The phenomenon of panic buying is essential to observe during the pandemic of COVID-19. Additionally, research on panic buying spans multiple studies fields and deserves more consistent scientific attention. This study examines the factors of panic buying behavior using the Theory of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to scrutinize panic buying behavior regarding consumer needs. Subsequently, this study investigates the moderating variables of government intervention to fill the research gap. Furthermore, this study looks for the effect that resulted from the phenomenon of panic buying behavior on customer satisfaction. The data were collected from 456 grocery and drug store consumers in Indonesia who shopped throughout the pandemic of COVID-19. The PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data. The outcomes indicate that control, social media, perceived severity, and perceived scarcity significantly affect panic buying behavior. In contrast, the government intervention only moderated the effect of social media on panic buying. Finally, the phenomenon of panic buying significantly affects customer satisfaction
Malaysian Government-Linked Companies and Earnings Management: The Interaction Effects of Internal And External Governance Mechanisms
This study aims to explore the interaction effects of the audit committee (AC), the internal audit function (IAF), as well as the external auditors (EA) toward earnings management between government-linked companies (GLCs) in Malaysia. This study used regression analysis on 340 firm-year-based observations with Malaysian GLCs available on the Bursa Malaysia main board during the 2009 – 2018. This study found that the interaction between the AC and the IAF is significantly and negatively correlated with EM. However, the AC's interaction with the EA shows an insignificant relationship in reducing EM. Additionally, the interaction between EA and the IAF negatively affects EM. It is one of the first papers to explore the complementary impact of external and internal corporate governance functionality or mechanisms on EM
Impact of Fintech’s Development on Bank Performance: An Empirical Study from Vietnam
In recent years, fintech has exploded in popularity and importance in the finan- cial industry. Its impacts have spread widely throughout the world, including Vietnam. This study aims to investigate the effect of fintech’s development on bank performance in Vietnam. Based on the unstructured data about fintech on the financial expert web- sites from Vietnam, the word frequency statistic technique of the text mining approach is applied for measuring fintech’s development under the support of Python-based solu- tions. The bank-level data of 15 Vietnamese banks for the period from the first quarter of 2019 to the second quarter of 2021 are collected from the quarterly financial statements in the Vietstock organization. Python programming and text mining techniques are used to compile this dataset by gathering information from popular and relevant websites. The generalized least squares method is used for estimating the panel models. The estimation result shows the significant impact of fintech’s development on bank profitability, but the net interest margin does not associate with the fintech variable. Besides, some interesting findings are revealed: The slow banking transformation to adapt to the rise of fintech and the COVID-19 pandemic increased bank profitability. Furthermore, suggestions for the banks and fintech companies are recommended, and the limitations and directions for further research are also proposed
MEASURING THE ASCENDING TREND FOR SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP: BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS
The term Entrepreneurship refers to initiating, organizing, and managing an innovative business to make a profit while winning the financial threat. The concept of Sustainable entrepreneurship has attracted significant scholarly attention over the last decade which states that there is an opportunity for generating new products with new techniques which significantly reduce social and environmental impacts. The study outlines the following research challenges and areas for future study as well as provides bibliometric analyses for the topic of sustainable entrepreneurship. The data shows that throughout time, notably in the last two years, the quantity of publications published and citations has steadily increased. Bibliometric performance indicators can be used to identify the most productive and significant journals, countries, organizations, and individuals. The study makes an effort to identify the important publications in the field; the most often cited works, the top authors, and the top participating nations. The Scopus database is used to get the data. Country network maps and co-authorship network maps are produced using the VOS viewer program. This work advances our understanding of sustainable entrepreneurship and bibliometric methods, which will provide us with a far more complete and trustworthy picture of this field
Psychological Empowerment Link Using Employee Performance and Organizational Commitment on the Generation Gap: PLS-MGA Analysis
The generation gap is critical, especially when employees do not agree about some terms that affect their completion of tasks. This issue is debated in organizations, causing incompatibilities between human resource management and development structures. Hence, these constraints led this study to measure the differences shown by generations X and Y, and how they impact the relationship between psychological empowerment, employee performance, and organizational commitment. This research used questionnaires and in-depth interviews as the main procedures for collecting and obtaining data—196 items of data were received from the Malaysian Islamic Finance Agency. SmartPLS software was used to test the research hypotheses and the differences between the two groups are Gen X and Y (PLS-MGA). The results of the PLS-MGA test confirmed that, in the relationship of psychological empowerment and job performance alone, it was found there was a generational difference between X and Y (p-value < 0.05). However, while running the hypothesis test (using the bootstrapping test), it was found that both hypotheses are acceptable, which shows the relationship between psychological empowerment and job performance based on two different groups, namely Gen Y = t-statistic (10.961) and Gen X = t-statistic (11.993). Thus, H1 is supported. Meanwhile, the relationship between psychological empowerment and organizational commitment is based on two different groups, namely Gen Y = t-statistic (8.675) and Gen X = t-statistic (8.349), which means H2 is also supported. Consequently, it is hoped that the findings of this study will serve as essential guidance for employers in both the public and private sectors. Human resource management teams can use the findings to understand the natural complexity of psychological empowerment constructs in realizing the challenges and difficulties in predicting organizational goals, in terms of job performance and organizational commitment
