    Regaining a Bright Future: Psychological Dynamics in Female Adolescent Victims of Sexual Harassment

    Rampant sexual harassments affect the victims and need to be followed up. Victims who are majority women are likely to feel aggrieved by pregnancy, receive negative stigma from society, drop out of school, and feel unable to achieve well-being in the future. This phenomenon is the basis for research conducted with the aim of knowing the psychological dynamics and aspects that affect the psychological conditions in female adolescent victims of sexual harassment. The phenomenological approach and interview method were used in this research. Three teenage girls aged 13-18 years became informants in this study. The results showed that the psychological condition of victims of sexual harassment was influenced by who the perpetrator is or the close relationship between the victim and the perpetrator. It was also influenced by support from the social environment, especially family as the closest environment. The psychological dynamics of victims of sexual harassment are influenced by four things: 1) the attitude of the environment; 2) self-understanding ability; 3) motivation to achieve self-actualization; and 4) the attitude of comparing oneself with others who are not in a better condition. From the results of this study, it was concluded that the supporting external or environmental factors and internal process in victims of sexual harassment combined really encourage the process recovery to achieve a better future

    Perfeksionisme pada Penari: Adaptif atau Maladaptif?

    Tarian merupakan salah satu hasil karya seni yang dilakukan oleh penari yang menguasai teknik-teknik tari tertentu yang dilakukan, baik secara individu maupun kelompok. Penari mendapatkan penilaian subjektif berupa kritikan dan dituntut untuk meningkatkan kualitas penampilan yang menimbulkan kecenderungan perfeksionisme. Perfeksionisme adalah penetapan standar tinggi pada suatu kinerja atau penampilan yang bersifat adaptif (conscientious perfectionism) yang mendorong individu menjadi teratur dan rapi, dan bersifat maladaptif (self-evaluative perfectionism) yang menjadikan individu menilai diri secara negatif dan berlebihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat perfeksionisme pada penari di Aceh terhadap 343 penari yang terdiri dari 219 perempuan dan 124 laki-laki dengan rentang usia 19-39 tahun (M=21,38) yang dipilih dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan Perfectionism Inventory dengan (α) = 0,917. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil analisis deskriptif dan crosstab menunjukkan bahwa perfeksionisme pada 290 (84,5%) penari Aceh berada pada tingkat tinggi, terutama pada kategorisasi jenis tari tradisional, penari perempuan, dan penari berusia dewasa awal. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan bahwa self-evaluative perfectionism berada pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan conscientious perfectionism berada pada kategori rendah

    Is the Online Friendship Scale Fit for High School Students?

    Online friendship is an inevitable phenomenon especially for young people for which Helmi et al. developed a concept and an online friendship scale with university students as their trial subject. From a  developmental perspective, university students are in the early adulthood stage. With the Internet’s asynchronous nature and the absence of non-verbal cues, the scale was applied to high school students in this present study. The purpose of this study was to test whether or not the online friendship scale has sound psychometric properties when applied to high school students. The subjects of this study were 214 high school students. The results of the structural equation model analysis met the goodness of fit criteria for construct validity, which include TL, GFT, and RMSEA indices. Its Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was also satisfying. A drive to create activities with friends on social media mitigates the lack of non-verbal signs resulting from online communication. This result supports the social enhancement hypothesis. Consequently, Online Friendship Scale can be implemented in adolescence and young adult

    Efek Moderasi Resiliensi terhadap Hubungan antara Perfeksionisme dengan Kecemasan Mengerjakan Skripsi

    Dalam proses menulis skripsi, adanya tuntutan dan standar yang ditetapkan dari luar dapat memicu mahasiswa menjadi perfeksionis dalam menetapkan standar pengerjaan skripsinya, serta diikuti dengan evaluasi yang berlebihan pada pencapaiannya. Hal ini menyebabkan dapat menimbulkan kecemasan dalam mengerjakan skripsi. Untuk menghadapi keadaan ini, mahasiswa membutuhkan resiliensi yang diharapkan dapat membantunya bertahan agar tetap menghasilkan performa yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efek moderasi resiliensi terhadap hubungan antara perfeksionisme dengan kecemasan mengerjakan skripsi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 109 mahasiswa fakultas psikologi angkatan 2016 yang sedang mengambil mata kuliah skripsi. Perfeksionisme diukur dengan menggunakan Hewitt & Flett’s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, kecemasan diukur menggunakan State Anxiety Inventory, serta resiliensi diukur dengan menggunakan Inventory for College Students Resilience. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan analisis regresi moderasi secara hierarki melalui metode uji selisih mutlak. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa self-oriented perfectionism (p = 0,051; p < 0,10) dan socially prescribed perfectionism (p = 0,000; p < 0,10) secara langsung memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kecemasan mengerjakan skripsi. Sementara, resiliensi tidak terbukti dapat memoderasi hubungan antara perfeksionisme dengan kecemasan mengerjakan skripsi

    Penalaran Probabilistik dan Keyakinan terhadap Gejala Paranormal Mahasiswa Psikologi

    Keyakinan terhadap gejala paranormal merupakan permasalahan pseudoscience atau ilmu pengetahuan lancung. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji keyakinan terhadap gejala paranormal para mahasiswa psikologi di kota Yogyakarta. Kognisi manusia khususnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam melakukan penalaran probabilistik berhubungan dengan keyakinan terhadap gejala paranormal. Penelitian ini menjadikan penalaran probabilistik menjadi prediktor atas keyakinan mengenai gejala paranormal dari 105 mahasiswa peserta matakuliah Psikologi Umum di dua Universitas di kota Yogyakarta. Pengukuran kepercayaan terhadap gejala paranormal memakai skala adaptasi dari skala Tobacyk yang terdiri dari 26 item favorabel sedangkan kemampuan penalaran probabilistik diukur oleh sembilan (9) soal pilihan ganda dengan 4 pilihan jawaban yang tersedia. Analisis regresi menghasilkan nilai R = 0,265 (F = 7,802; p < 0,05) yang berarti penalaran probabilistik dapat menjadi prediktor keyakinan mengenai gejala paranormal. Tidak terdapat perbedaan penalaran probabilistik dan keyakinan terhadap gejala paranormal antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan

    Cultivating Safety in the Information Technology Era

    In the information technology era, the banking industry must compete in an external environment characterized by high levels of uncertainty, complexity and change. Accidents in high-risk manufacturing organizations are generally related to safety studies. The researcher attempted to study "accidents" due to network vulnerabilities in IT-based organizations using the safety concept. This qualitative study is important because it provides analysis of IT support for organizational development. This study used multi-case study and grounded research approaches. The process of developing an information safety climate is considered an alternative solution other than technology. The study revealed that normal accident theory can be used to explain accidents in IT-based organizations. The process of developing an information security climate in banking organizations is categorized as the emergency type. The manifestation of information safety climate is attentiveness, accountability, ethical sensitivity, integrity and sustainability. Phases that need to be undergone in cultivating the safety climate are: adaptation, learning, awareness to risk, and resilience. Thus, it can be concluded that the climate of an IT-based organization is different from the climate of a non technology-based organization

    The goal of this research was to determine the role of emotional intelligence and mental toughness on competitive anxiety in collegiate athletes. The scales used in this research were Competitive Anxiety Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale and Mental Toughness Scale. The respondents of this research were collegiate futsal athletes (N=106) who had participated on competition. Data analysis using multiple linear regression showed that both predictor variables contribute 28.1% (R2= 0.281, F = 20.083, p < 0.01) to the criterion variable. The contribution of mental toughness on competitive anxiety was â = -0.486, p < 0.01 while that of emotional intelligence was â = -0.069, p = 0.502. It can be concluded that mental toughness contributed more than emotional intelligence to competitive anxiety

    Teenagers must meet their needs to get life satisfaction but if they cannot meet their needs then as a result teens can act negatively or they will still be satisfied with their lives. This study attempted to determine the  relationship between wisdom and life satisfaction among adolescents. Participants in this study were 105 subjects. The study hypothesized that there was a positive relationship between wisdom and life satisfaction among adolescents. The data on this study was obtained by using Likert scales for Three Dimensional Wisdom Scale and Brief Multidimensional Student’s Life Satisfaction Scale. Finding suggests a significant positive relationship between wisdom and life satisfaction among adolescents

    Kepemimpinan Transformasional Kepribadian Proaktif dan Desain Kerja sebagai Prediktor Perilaku Kerja Inovatif

    Every country needs innovation to support economic growth and prepare for the future of a better nation. This study aims to empirically examine transformational leadership, proactive personality, and work design in driving innovative work behavior. The hypothesis proposed is transformational leadership, proactive personality, and work design is a predictor of innovative work behavior in employees. This study used a quantitative survey approach.  Four scales were used namely the scale of innovative work behavior, transformational, proactive personality, and work design. Data were analyzed using multiple regression techniques. The results showed that transformational leadership, proactive personality, and work design together improve employee innovation (F) = 58,032, R2 = 0,593). 

    Model Work Engagement Angkatan Kerja Generasi Millennial dengan Meaningful Work sebagai Mediator

    The key success for an organization with a millennial workforce to win the competitiveness of the business industry in 4.0 era is having a compatible model of work engagement. In 2020 millennials will dominate, up to 75% of the labor force. Therefore it is necessary to scientifically inquire deeper on this generation. This research adopts the Job Demand Resources Model (JD-R) as a theoretical framework. It specifically aims to analyze the most suitable work engagement model among millennials who work at state-owned companies. Predictor variables in this research are job crafting and meaningful work as a mediator.  This quantitative research (N=318) uses scaling for data collection and Structural Equation Model (SEM) to test the data. This research found: (1) work engagement model fits for the millennial workforce; (2) job crafting has direct significant effect to work engagement; (3) meaningful work plays as a mediator between job crafting and work engagement
