Evaluation and Comparison of Full-Stack JavaScript Technologies

    Get PDF
This thesis evaluates and compares current Full-Stack JavaScript Technologies. Through extensive research on the state of the art of JavaScript and its related frameworks, different aspects of FullStack Development are analysed to judge the popularity of technologies. The language JavaScript and the idea of Full-Stack Development are presented with the functionality of different frameworks. The JavaScript runtime Node.js was examined and marked as the most influential JavaScript technology, which opened up many opportunities. As technology stacks MERN, MEAN and MEVN were investigated, featuring the base technologies Node.js, MongoDB and Express.js. It was discovered that front-end frameworks have the most influence on which variant of Full-Stack can be chosen. Comparison criteria between the technology stacks were the learning curve, the maintainability, modularity and media integration. These criteria were extracted from research and a questionnaire conducted with students of the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg. For the purposes of testing and experiencing a Full-Stack JavaScript application, the game RemArrow, based on the 1979s game Simon, was designed and implemented. The comparison with predefined criteria shows the result that the MERN stack with React.js is the best to learn and promises the most potential. Arising JavaScript technologies and their popularity are very dependent on the industry and skill set of the developer. In conclusion, it can be established that the concept of Full-Stack Development is currently very interesting and more than just a trend. It has potential of becoming a new kind of web development, and part of the curriculum taught at universities. Expert knowledge is needed but there is a high demand and much potential for Full-Stack JavaScript Developers

The sudden end of the romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809–1847) still puzzles us today. Some evidence points to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm with consecutive subarachnoid hemorrhage. The source material on the symptoms of his terminal illness is presented and discussed in detail in this paper. A possible familial disposition in the sense of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV is discussed

Athletes with high knee abduction moments show increased vertical center of mass excursions and knee valgus angles across sport-specific fake-and-cut tasks of different complexities

Young female handball players represent a high-risk population for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. While the external knee abduction moment (KAM) is known to be a risk factor, it is unclear how cutting technique affects KAMs in sport-specific cutting maneuvers. Further, the effect of added game specificity (e.g., catching a ball or faking defenders) on KAMs and cutting technique remains unknown. Therefore, this study aimed: (i) to test if athletes grouped into different clusters of peak KAMs produced during three sport-specific fake-and-cut tasks of different complexities differ in cutting technique, and (ii) to test whether technique variables change with task complexity. Fifty-one female handball players (67.0 ± 7.7 kg, 1.70 ± 0.06 m, 19.2 ± 3.4 years) were recruited. Athletes performed at least five successful handball-specific sidestep cuts of three different complexities ranging from simple pre-planned fake-and-cut maneuvers to catching a ball and performing an unanticipated fake-and-cut maneuver with dynamic defenders. A k-means cluster algorithm with squared Euclidean distance metric was applied to the KAMs of all three tasks. The optimal cluster number of koptimal = 2 was calculated using the average silhouette width. Statistical differences in technique variables between the two clusters and the tasks were analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVAs (task complexity) with nested groupings (clusters). KAMs differed by 64.5%, on average, between clusters. When pooling all tasks, athletes with high KAMs showed 3.4° more knee valgus, 16.9% higher downward and 8.4% higher resultant velocity at initial ground contact, and 20.5% higher vertical ground reaction forces at peak KAM. Unlike most other variables, knee valgus angle was not affected by task complexity, likely due to it being part of inherent movement strategies and partly determined by anatomy. Since the high KAM cluster showed higher vertical center of mass excursions and knee valgus angles in all tasks, it is likely that this is part of an automated motor program developed over the players' careers. Based on these results, reducing knee valgus and downward velocity bears the potential to mitigate knee joint loading and therefore ACL injury risk

Approximate Time-Series Data Aggregation Using Grouping Nodes in Peer to Peer Network

    No full text
We consider the local group of agents for exchanging the time-series data value and computing the approximation of the mean value of all agents. An agent represented by a node knows all local neighbor nodes in the same group. The node has the contact information of other nodes in other groups. The nodes interact with each other in synchronous rounds to exchange the updated time-series data value using the random call communication model. The amount of data exchanged between agent-based sensors in the local group network affects the accuracy of the aggregation function results. At each time step, the agent-based sensor can update the input data value and send the updated data value to the group head node. The group head node sends the updated data value to all group members in the same group. Grouping nodes in peer-to-peer networks show an improvement in Mean Squared Error (MSE)

Paving the Way for Low Breakage Rates in Industrial Production of N.I.C.E.-Wire Modules

    No full text
Significant improvements in module performance are possible via implementation of multi-wire electrodes. This is economically sound as long as the mechanical yield of the production is maintained. While flat ribbons have a relatively large contact area to exert forces onto the solar cell, wires with round cross section reduce this contact area considerably – in theory to an infinitively thin line. Therefore, the local stresses induced by the electrodes might increase to a point that mechanical production yields suffer unacceptably. In this paper, we assess this issue by an analytical mechanical model as well as experiments with an encapsulant-free N.I.C.E. test setup. From these, we can derive estimations for the relationship between lay-up accuracy and expected breakage losses. This paves the way for cost-optimized choices of handling equipment in industrial N.I.C.E.-wire production lines

Enzymatic production and analysis of antioxidative protein hydrolysates

    No full text
This review provides an overview on the production and analysis techniques of antioxidative peptides from food proteins. Regarding the production of antioxidative peptides, interlinked factors must be considered. Depending on the protein substrate, different peptidases or peptidase systems containing multiple enzymes as well as a specific production process must be chosen. The antioxidative peptides might be produced in a batch process including multiple pre- and post-treatments, besides the hydrolyses with peptidases itself. As an alternative, the potential of continuous production systems is discussed in this review. Furthermore, robust analyses tools are needed to gain control of the process and final product properties. With no standardized methodology available for antioxidative peptide evaluation, pros and cons of various strategies for peptide separation and antioxidative measurement are discussed in this review. Therefore, this review provides a roadmap for antioxidative peptide generation from various sources for research and development as well as for potential industrial use
