Exploring Publishing Practices and Editorial Policies in Children’s and YA Fantasy Literature in Japan
Full text linkThis article examines the distinctive publishing practices and editorial policies employed in children’s and young adult (YA) literature in contemporary Japan, with a focus on literary works within the fantasy genre. The central perspective of the study revolves around viewing the literary text as a holistic product meticulously tailored for a targeted readership. In particular, it highlights three key elements frequently encountered in the juvenile literary niche in Japan: the market segmentation of texts based on readers’ literacy levels, the use of auxiliary elements of written Japanese (furigana glosses and hiragana transcription) for reading assistance, and the application of supplementary textual elements (paratexts) to enhance the reading experience. A Study on Water Use and Town Planning in Kumagawajuku, Wakasa Town, Fukui Prefecture
Full text linkIn recent years, rapid urbanization, a declining birthrate and aging population, and progress in environmental problems have led to the need for sustainable urban development. Under these circumstances, historical villages and townscapes that remain throughout the country, such as castle towns and post towns, have been preserved, and urban development has begun to attract attention nationwide. Kumagawajuku, Wakasa Town, Fukui Prefecture, is a post town that has achieved economic development since the early Edo period, mainly by wholesalers who have done various jobs such as lending and borrowing funds, and moving people and horses in and out, mainly by handing over goods by people and horses. It is one of the few areas in Japan where an irrigation canal called the Maekawa River flows, and various types of buildings form a townscape. The purpose of this study is to grasp the history and current status of Kumagawajuku town development, the current state of the waterway network and water conservancy facilities, and to consider the relationship between waterways and town development, and to create useful materials for future town development.departmental bulletin pape
Clinical Psychological Factors Affecting Loneliness in Teleworkers.
Full text link【要旨】本研究では, 自宅にて週1回以上テレワークを実施している20代から70代の男女817名の労働者を対象に, 孤独感と関連する個人的および環境的要因を明らかにするため, テレワーク労働者の孤独感を従属変数, コミュニケーション状況, ストレスマネジメント, セルフコントロールを独立変数として重回帰分析を行った。その結果, テレワーク中に, 職場の仲間と雑談やアイデアの共有をする時間が長く, 困った時に同僚に助けを求める頻度が高いほど, 孤独感が低くなる傾向が有意に高かった。また, 職場の仲間または親しい人物への自己開示をして, 適度な休息をとり, 「調整型セルフコントロール」, または「改良型セルフコントロール」が高いテレワーク労働者は孤独感が低くなる傾向が有意に高かった。一方で, 「外的要因による行動のコントロール」が高い労働者は孤独感が高まる傾向を有意に予測していた。このことから, テレワーク労働者の孤独感を緩和するために, オンラインを通して困った時に同僚へ相談したり, 挨拶や雑談をすることを心掛け, 自発的に望ましい目標を設定し, コントロールしながら, その目標を実行することが重要であるといえる。また, 仕事に行き詰まった時に, それに気付いて一度仕事から距離をおいて, 親しい人や職場の人と会話することが孤独感を低減し, 仕事の効率を上げるために有効だと考えられる。departmental bulletin pape
