    Effect of Expired Time and Use if Various Organic Matter Extract on Viability and Vigor Water Melon SeedABSTRACT. The experiment was conducted to study the effect of expired time and use of various organic matter extract on viability and vigor water melon seed. The experiment was conducted in completely randomized design with two factors and three replication. Factors of expired time: 3, 6 and 9 months. Factor of organic matter extract: coconut extract, mature tomato extract, juvenile corn extract, and mature banana extract. The results indicated that expired time was significantly different on viability and vigor water melon seed. The best expired time treatment for viability and vigor water melon seed 3 months. Organic matter extract was significantly different on viability and vigor water melon seed. The best organic matter extract treatment for viability and vigor water melon seed was mature tomato extract. There was significantly different interaction between expired time and use of various organic matter extract on growth potency

    Effect of Liquid Organic Fertilizer from Nata de coco Waste and Cow Manure in Anaerobic Digester Processing Application in Soil Chemistry Properties of Lettuce PlantingABSTRACT. The objective of this experiment was to study effect of liquid organic fertilizer from nata de coco waste and cow manure in anaerobic digester processing application in soil chemistry properties of lettuce planting. The experiment is conducted at Physical Chemistry and Environmental Laboratory of IPB and in Jabon Mekar Village, Parung, West Java. The treatment of this experiment is application of liquid fertilizer (organic fertilizer) once, twice, and three time a week from effluent anaerobic digester 75% nata de coco waste + 25% cow manure, 50% nata de coco waste + 50% cow manure, 25% nata de coco waste + 75% cow manure, and 100% cow manure compared with control (inorganic fertilizer) on lettuce. The result showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from nata de coco waste and cow manure in anaerobic digester processing can increase the soil chemistry properties

    Growth and Yield of Two Varieties Kale in Poured Media by Lagoon Liquid Waste PT Pertamina UP VI BalonganABSTRACT. Farmers around of PT Pertamina UP VI Balongan in part cultivated kale because it easily cultivated and short harvest age, however they faces difficulty to find irrigation water in dry season. Therefore it is needed to conduct a research for studying whether liquid waste in the lagoon can be used for plant cultivation. The research was conducted from February 2007 until July 2007 in plastic house in area of PT Pertamina UP VI Balongan on altitude 3 metres above sea level. Experiment design used was Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD). Experimented factors were two varieties kale: Amanda, Bangkok LP 1 and eight kinds of media: rice field poured by lagoon liquid waste 9, rice field poured by lagoon liquid waste 18, sediment poured by irrigation water, sediment poured by lagoon liquid waste 1, sediment poured by lagoon liquid waste 9, and sediment poured by lagoon liquid waste 18. There were 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications. Observed variable comprised of plant height, total of leaves, total of branches, leaves wide, longest root length, stem fresh weight, root fresh weight, plant fresh weight, stem dry weight, root dry weight, and plant dry weight. This research showed that poured media by liquid waste in lagoon do not decrease growth and yield of kale, except in longest root length. Variety of Bangkok LP 1 have longest root length of 33.48 cm while variety of Amanda of 30.55 cm

    Resistency of Tomatoes Varieties on Fusarium wilt Disease (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici)ABSTRACT. Tomato plants are herbaceous annual plant, having hermaphrodite flowers and are suitable to be planted in a cold area. Wilt disease is one of the important disease of tomato plants which is caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (fol). This disease can cause a great loss to the tomato producing in many regions in the world 20%-30%. A study has been conducted the resistance of several varieties of tomato plants against Fusarium wilt disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici. The tomato varieties observed were Local Aceh, Jelita, Permata, Sakata and Lentana. The results showed that Local Aceh variety and Jelita variety were highly resistant to Fusarium wilt disease. The other 3 varieties showed a lower level of resistance to the wilt disease compared to those of Local Aceh and Lentana variety

    Nutmegg Seed (Myristica fragrans HOUTT) Viability Scarification on Several Levels and The Concentration of Young Coconut Water.ABSTRACT. One of the efforts to eliminate the mechanical barrier is by scarification treatment (scrubbing) the seed that becomes a thin shell that easily enter the water and air. Besides the presence of growth regulators in seed also be an important factor for accelerating the growth of seedlings. The experimental design used in this research in Completely randomized design (CRD) 3x3 factorial with three replications. There are two factors studied, namely scarification percentage and the concentration of young coconut water. Increased nutmeg seed viability and seedling vigor due scarification treatment , except for potential growth. Scarification 100% gives the acceleration of growth was significantly different from the seed without scarification but not significantly different from the scarification 50%. Concentration of 100% coconut water could also accelerate the growth of normal seeds without significantly as compared with young coconut water immersion, but not significantly different from the concentration or 50% young coconut water. There were no significant interaction between treatments were tested on the viability and vigor of seed germinating of nutmeg

    Response of Soybean Cultivars Kipas Putih and Wilis to Soil Moistureon Growth and YieldABSTRACT. The research has been made to explain relationship between soil moisture and the growth and yield of soya bean variety Willis and Kipas Putih. Block randomized design with factor type 2x4 and three repetition has use to analize the effect of soil moisture on those variety. The parameter use in this research were hight of the plan, plan growing rate, number of pod, length of the root, drying biomassa, and dry seed per plan. The research result showed that variety have very significant difference on high of plan 45 days after planting and dry biomassa per plan , have significant difference on growing rate after 45 after planting, number of pod, and has unsignificant difference on high of the plan 14 and 28 after planting, growing rate 28 and 56 days after planting, number of pods,length of the root, and dry seed per plan. Variety willis gives better grow and yield than Kipas Putih. Soil moisture has very significant differency on high of the plan 14 and 28 after planting and growing rate 28,45,56 after planting, number of regume per plan, number of filling pods per plan, length of the root, and weight of dry seed per plan. Field capacity level of soil moisture gives growth and yield better than others. Relationship between variety and soil moisture is very significant on hight of the plan 45 days after planting, growth and yield the best showed by variety Willis and field capacity level of soil moisture

    Growth and Yield of Cauliflower Caused by NASA Liquid Organic Fertilizer and Plant Growth Regulator HormonesABSTRACT. Cauliflower plants in great demand, so the development of aquaculture should be developed to obtain the desired quality and quantity. The purpose of this study is to determine the concentration of NASA's Liquid Organic fertilizers and plant growth regulator Hormonik proper growth and yield of cauliflower. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Faculty of Agriculture University of Syiah Kuala Darussalam Banda Aceh, Seed Varieties used were obtained from the CV Hoggar. Aria Enterprises Banda Aceh, the foliar fertilizer used was NASA Liquid Organic fertilizers and plant growth regulator produced Hormonik PT. Natural Nusantara Indonesia. The soil used in soil types Entisol top soil from the Experimental Farm Faculty of Agriculture, University of Syiah Kuala, Darussalam Banda Aceh. There are two factors that investigated the concentration of NASA's Liquid Organic fertilizers are composed of three levels: 2, 4 and 6 cc l-1 water, and plant growth regulators Hormonik which consists of three levels: 1, 2 and 3 cc l-1 water. Variable which observed were plant height, leaf number, stem diameter at the age of 21, 35 and 49 days after planting, and the wet weight berangkasan, flower weight were observed at harvest 60 days after planted. Result of study showed that the combination of concentration and NASA Liquid Organic fertilizers Hormonik growth regulator that shows growth and better results were found at a concentration of 4 cc l-1 water of liquid organic fertilizer Nasa and 2 cc / l water of growth regulators hormonik

    The Effect of Spacing Between Rows of Several Varieties of Sweet Corn and Kidney Beans Growth and Yield for Intercropping SystemABSTRACT. The research was to find the effect of planting distance and some varieties on intercropping system of sweet corn and kidney beans to improve growth and yield. The experimental design was Complete Block Randomized with two factors and two replications. The first factor was planting distance between rows of sweet corn intercropping system (J1=60cmx30cm; J2=80cmx30cm; J3=100cmx30cm). Then the second factor was variety (V1= Kumala F1; V2= King Sweet F1; V3=Super Bee). The results indicated that the best planting distance on intercropping some varieties of sweet corn and kidney bean was 100cmx30cm for sweet corn and 80cmx30cm and 100cmx30cm for kidney bean. The varieties treatment showed that the best variety of sweet corn was Super Bee and kidney bean was King Sweet F1. There was significantly different interaction between planting distance and varieties on intercropping system of sweet and kidney bean on the corn husk weight of sweet corn

    Fatty Acids Profile and Medium Changes Fatty Acids (MCFA) on Coconut Fresh and Coconut Milk (Cocos nucifera L.)ABSTRACT. This study was conducted to determine the fatty acids profile and medium changes fatty acids on coconut fresh and coconut milk. The fatty acids content of coconut fresh and coconut milk of saturated fatty acids (120.88- 84%) consist of C6:0, C8:0, C10:0, C12:0, C14:0, C16:0, C18:0. The monounsaturated fatty acids present was palmitoleic acid (C6:1c9) and oleic acid (C18:1n9) amounting to 15.7-16.2%, respectively. While linoleic (C18:2n6) was the major polyunsaturated fatty acids, amounting to 2.20-3.40%. The total medium changes fatty acids (MCFA) in coconut fresh and coconut milk were 70.0% and 67.5%

    Analysis of Drought Level to Reduce Risk of Food Crop Harvest Fails in Banten ProvinceABSTRACT. Climate is one of the most important factor to the success of the agriculture production. Climate variability such as season change, lack or excess of water, are sample examples of climate factors which limit agriculture production. Planning agriculture activities which involving climate factors as one of the consideration will reduce crops production failure. This research conducted to identified the potency of drought at Banten Province by consecutive dry days analysis at 5, 10, and 15 continuous days or more. The result showed that the potency of drought at northern Banten is higher compared to middle and southern Banten. This was showed by the high opportunities of DHK = 5, 10, and 15 continuous days or more, as big as 0,65, 0,46, and 0,28. The lowest potency of drought occur at southern Banten with opportunities of DHK 5, 10, and 15 continuous days or more, each as big as 0,43, 0,30, and 0,18
