An option pricing approach for measuring Solvency Capital Requirements in Insurance Industry
Solvency capital requirements indicated by Solvency II against longevity risk involve distortions and inconsistencies caused by the invariance of the longevity shock compared to the age and time assumed by the regulatory model. To overcome the problem we introduce a temporal structure of the time mortality volatility which is included as a driver of longevity shock, by modeling a rolling window affine stochastic model. We then derive the longevity shock as a function of mortality rate time volatility evolution and time, according to a Black and Scholes environment. The original approach shows that the suggested internal model is able to reflect the risk profile of a specific undertaker by allowing consequently the level of own funds it needs and removing the effects of the invariance longevity shock. Numerical illustrations are provided in different settings and they highlight the consistency of the new approach

Internalized Transphobia, Resilience, and Mental Health: Applying the Psychological Mediation Framework to Italian Transgender Individuals
Transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) people are a highly-stigmatized population. For this reason, they might internalize society’s normative gender attitudes and develop negative mental health outcomes. As an extension of the minority stress model, the psychological mediation framework sheds light on psychological processes through which anti-transgender discrimination might affect mental health. Within this framework, the current study aimed at assessing in 149 TGNC Italian individuals the role of internalized transphobia as a mediator between anti-transgender discrimination and mental health, considering resilience as the individual-level coping mechanism buffering this relationship. The results suggest that both indicators of internalized transphobia (i.e., shame and alienation) mediate the relationship between anti-transgender discrimination and depression, while only alienation mediates the relationship between anti-transgender discrimination and anxiety. Furthermore, the results suggest that the indirect relation between anti-transgender discrimination and anxiety through alienation is conditional on low and moderate levels of resilience. Findings have important implications for clinical practice and psycho-social interventions to reduce stigma and stress caused by interpersonal and individual stigma

This article deals with the well-known Taricco case and compares the solutions adopted by the European Court of Justice and the Italian Constitutional Court, with a view to showing the differences and the developments in the case-law of these supreme Courts.
Although the Taricco case has been defined a significant example of dialogue between the Court of Justice and the Constitutional Court, differences remain in their interpretations of the legality principle also after the Court of Justice’s revirement (the so-called "Taricco II").
The most salient aspects of the legality principle, in all its different forms in criminal matters, will be discussed, as well as the need to revise its traditional concept, since there is the risk that impunity may continue even after Court of Justice rulings and the adoption of the Directive (EU) 2017/1371
The FOOT (FragmentatiOn Of Target) experiment
Particle therapy uses proton and ion beams to treat deep-seated solid tumors, exploiting the favorable energy deposition profile of charged particles. Nuclear interactions with patient tissues can induce fragments production that must be taken into account in treatment planning: in proton treatments target fragmentation produces low-energy, short-range fragments depositing a non-negligible dose in the entry channel, while in heavier-ion beam treatments long-range fragments due to projectile fragmentation release dose in tissues surrounding the tumor. The FOOT experiment aims to study these processes to improve the nuclear interactions description in next generation Treatment Planning Systems softwares and hence the treatments quality. Target ( 16 O and 12 C) fragmentation induced by 150-250 MeV proton beams will be studied via inverse kinematics: 16 O and 12 C beams (150-250 MeV/u) collide on graphite and hydrocarbon targets to provide nuclear fragmentation cross sections on hydrogen. The projectile fragmentation of these beams will be explored as well. The FOOT detector includes a magnetic spectrometer to measure fragments momentum, a plastic scintillator for ΔE and TOF measurements and a scintillating crystal calorimeter to measure fragments kinetic energy. These measurements will be combined to accurately identify fragments charge and mass
Tridispersive thermal convection
We derive the linear instability and nonlinear stability thresholds for a problem
of thermal convection in a tridispersive porous medium with a single temperature.
Importantly we demonstrate that the nonlinear stability threshold is the same as the
linear instability one. The significance of this is that the linear theory is capturing
completely the physics of the onset of thermal convection. This result is different to
the general theory of thermal convection in a tridispersive porous material where
the temperatures in the macropores, mesopores and micropores are allowed to be
different. In that case the coincidence of the nonlinear stability and linear instability
boundaries has not been proved

Pur essendo, un cibo a estrema vocazione “global”, la pizzeria risponde a criteri che ne permettono l’immediata riconosci- bilità e appartenenza a un concetto di italianità. Analizzando la storia, gli aspetti sociali e l’immaginario sviluppato intorno a questi luoghi del consumo, ci si propone l’obiettivo di identificare i risvolti sociocultu- rali della “Pizzeria” in Italia e all’e- stero, con particolare riferimento alle implicazioni relative al “senso del luogo” e ai modelli mediologici che correlano l’identità storica alle pragmatiche dell’alimentazione e del “gusto”
Distribution and risk factors associated with Babesia spp. infection in hunting dogs from Southern Italy.
Canine babesiosis is caused by haemoprotozoan organisms of the genus Babesia which are transmitted by the bite of a hard tick. The aim of this survey was to determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with Babesia species infections in hunting dogs from Southern Italy. Blood samples were collected from 1311 healthy dogs in the Napoli, Avellino and Salerno provinces of the Campania region of Southern Italy. Serological testing was performed using two enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), with one designed to detect B. canis and B. vogeli antibodies, and the other designed to detect B. gibsoni antibodies. Blood samples were also tested by
quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assays for amplification of B. canis, B. vogeli and B.gibsoni DNA. The overall seroprevalence for B. canis/B. vogeli was 14.0%, compared to 0.2% for B. gibsoni. B. canis and B. vogeli PCR positive rates were 0.15% and 1.1%, respectively. B. gibsoni DNA was not amplified by qPCR. Male gender (OR 1.85), increased age (OR 1.01), long hair coat (OR 1.61) and living in Salerno province (OR 1.71) represented risk factors for B. canis/B. vogeli seroreactivity. Hunting dogs in Southern Italy are often exposed to B. canis/B. vogeli, however Babesia spp. infection was infrequently detected using qPCR. Further studies are needed to determine the extent to which Babesia spp. cause clinical disease in hunting dogs, and to evaluate the potential epidemiological relationships between hunting dogs and wild animal populations sharingthe same area
