Analytical hierarchy process - bocr applied for the best lean project selection for production lines
The scenario of global competitiveness demands more and more of the organizations the search for continuous improvement. For survival, in the face of adverse market conditions, modern production management strategies are essential to make production processes increasingly efficient, lean and sustainable, minimizing losses in their production systems. In this sense, when thinking about changes in production lines, in search of improvements in their process, criteria that provide Benefits, Opportunities, Costs and Risks (BOCR) should be considered. In this way, managers and executives should rely on tools and methods that allow them to guide their decisions in a clear way. The objective of this work is to apply a method of Decision Making with Multiple Criteria to the alternatives of investment projects in production lines in Lean Manufacturing concept. As a general result, it was possible to observe the applicability of the AHP BOCR method for the decision-making case involving several criteria and subcriteria for choosing the Lean investment project in the steel environment, the preferred alternative being the discontinuity of the production line 1 and the absorption of their respective production volume by production lines 2 and 3 through investments in them
A descriptive study of brand equity of india's popular online shopping sites
The focus of this research was to measure consumer-based brand equity (CBBE) of India’s most popular online retailing websites Amazon and Flipkart. However, for the sake of confidentiality and copyright, their names were not revealed anywhere in the paper. This was done with the help of Aaker’s and Keller’s concept of brand equity. A sample of 1000 respondents from across the state of Gujarat, India was examined. CBBE was measured by calculating mean scores of overall brand equity and its factors like brand loyalty, perceived quality, brand awareness, brand association, attitude and purchasing intention. The correlation coefficient between factors and brand equity was considered as weight. The research revealed through the data which retail site had a higher brand equity. One interesting fact that was identified was how keenly both the brands are trying to woo their customers. The results showed very similar trends. A positive relation was found between brand equity and its factors. Based on this relationship the research concluded with a regression model where brand equity was the dependent variable and factors were independent variables. It was observed that the factor ‘brand loyalty’ had the lowest mean value suggesting that with competition and wider choice to consumer, brand loyalty tends to be lower. Favorable attitude was observed for both brands with highest mean values among all factors

Relationship between food industries maturity and quality certification
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the PDP (Product Development Process) maturity level in the food industry to identify the compatibility status of their quality certification and their maturity level.Design/methodology/approach: A bibliographical review was conducted about product development, maturity process, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). An adapted method from CMMI was used, which allows evaluating the level of maturity, through a semi-structured questionnaire. The questionnaires were applied in five companies of this industry and then, an analysis of the information obtained in each company was carried out and compared, aiming to understand the sector maturity.Findings: After conducting the interviews in each company, the median of each group of questions was calculated, according to the methodology described. Data collected from this sector show consistency between certification time and maturity level. Research limitations/implications: Due to the low number of respondents, this data cannot be generalized to this sector, being considered only an indication of the situation of the food industry located in Curitiba region. Practical implications: This study shows the relationship between the maturity level of food industry and ISO 9001 quality certification. The study shows that for the company to obtain an ISO certification, it must have been at least maturity level 2, highlighting, as well, the main deficiencies of this sector. Originality/value: The original value is to show the relationship between the maturity level of food industry and ISO 9001 quality certification
Applicability of the ethics management tools in Romanian academia
The paper shows that the management of ethics in the academic environment is the coordination of all elements related to the moral life of a university. The last decades have insistently imposed on public awareness the importance of taking into account the ethical dimension of the life of universities. Ethical codes, ethics committees, ethical audits, ethical education of staff, techniques to create an institutional culture of a moral nature have all become increasingly widespread. "Institutionalization of ethics" in academia is a new reality for which we must be prepared. The University is an institution whose goals, valid for each of its members, include development and professional affirmation, the evolution of knowledge and research in the conditions of respect for the rule of law and human rights. The University respects the dignity of each of its members and promotes academic integrity on ethical principles. Its members are committed to contributing to the democratic development and prosperity of society. We think that the values and principles that universities promote in particular, and whose actual achievement is sought to ensure, are: academic freedom, personal autonomy, justice and equity, merit, professionalism, honesty and intellectual integrity, transparency, respect and tolerance, responsibility, goodwill and care. We are firmly convinced that if in Romania these principles of academic management are applied in good faith, then the standard of education and respect throughout the academic life will increase
Investment providing sustainable development of rural areas in Ukraine
The economic growth of agricultural production is one of the main problems of modern economic development of Ukraine, in which investment processes play an important role. Therefore, the research is to reveal the importance of investment for the development of agriculture and rural areas of Ukraine and to develop recommendations to enhance investments in the Ukrainian rural areas. The data base of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine on economic development of Ukraine, investment activity of agriculture in Ukraine and attraction of foreign direct investments into the economy of Ukraine for 2014-2018 served as the information base for empirical and statistical research. It is found according to the results of the study that the level of provision of agriculture with investment resources is not sufficient. The reason is a number of negative factors: imperfect legislative framework, corruption, economic instability of the country, military conflict in the east of the country, insufficient financing of agriculture, low level of credit to the sector, etc. Using a systematic and integrated method, a model for the formation of investment support for sustainable rural development has been developed. We believe that in order to activate the sustainable development of rural territories, the use of the model will help to streamline and allocate financial and investment resources and improve rural investment activities. Conceptual approaches to the possible introduction of the agricultural land market in Ukraine are substantiated

Geometric brownian motion: an alternative to high-frequency trading for small investors
High-frequency trading (HFT) involves short-term, high-volume market operations to capture profits. To a large extent, these operations take advantage of early access to information using fast and sophisticated technological tools running on supercomputers. However, high-frequency trading is inaccessible to small investors because of its high cost. For this reason, price prediction models can substitute high-frequency trading in order to anticipate stock market movements. This study is the first to analyze the possibility of applying Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM) to forecast prices in intraday trading of stocks negotiated on two different stock markets: (i) the Brazilian stock market (B3), considered as a low liquidity market and (ii) the American stock market (NYSE), a high liquidity market. This work proposed an accessible framework that can be used for small investors. The portfolios formed by Geometric Brownian Motion were tested using a traditional risk measure (mean-variance). The hypothesis tests showed evidences of promising results for financial management
Two methods to create free energy
Today, the best way to get free energy is nuclear, through fission, and hopefully soon through fusion. The best way to get clean and friendly energy in a sustainable way remains the start of the nuclear fusion reaction at an industrial scale. Nuclear fusion is the combination of two light nuclei in a heavier nucleus. Fusion or thermonuclear reaction of light elements are typical reactions that occur in the Sun and other stars. Indeed, in the Sun, every second, 657 million tons of hydrogen are converted into 653 million tons of helium. The 4 million tonnes missing are then converted to radiation - this phenomenon assuring the sun's shine. A fusion reaction in which a relatively large amount of energy (27.7 MeV) is released is one in which four protons interact leading to the formation of a helium nucleus (an alpha particle). The paper proposes two modern methods of obtaining free energy, one of which is somewhat strange, the capillarity. Until one of the two new ideas proposed, the first for the start of the nuclear fusion reaction, and the second one for the possible construction of capillary power plants in the future, it is still necessary to keep the green energy of any type already existing and nuclear fission
