Screw torque traceability control: industrial application
Get PDFThis paper analyses a new screw torque traceability control procedure designed for an operation in a car audio workstation. First the detection score at a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) indicated which process improvement were needed. On the sequence, data was collected to evaluate performance indicators. Finally, specific actions were executed based on the improvement plan. As result, the FMEA detection score improved from 7 to 3, the run rate increased from 12 to 16 products/h and defects caused by improper screwing were eliminated. This research contributes to disseminate a practical application of a screw torque traceability control

Factors affecting employee satisfaction: the case of land plot sales staffs
Get PDFThe purpose of this research is to explore the scale and identify factors affecting employee satisfaction in a particular business; namely, land sales staff in Ho Chi Minh City area. To conduct the research, the authors do group discussions and expert discussion and then analyzed 201 observations with six factors: The nature of work, promotion and training, leadership, co-worker, income and working environment. The results of Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA) show that there are five factors: Work nature, promotion and training, co-worker, income and working environment that has a positive impact on employee satisfaction; besides, the interesting result from the research is that the leading factor negatively affects the satisfaction of land sales staffs in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The contribution of this study is that the authors confirm the theory of Herzberg (1966), Ludy (2005), Nunnally and Bernstein, Spector (1997), Smith et al (1969) and Vroom (1964) in the context of the land plot sales staffs. Also, from qualitative studies and relevant studies, the author has adjusted the scale and analyzed data in a new context. Based on that, the research recommends the necessary management solutions to increase employee satisfaction and open a new field for further research
Measuring the impact of factors affecting reverse e-logistics' performance in the electronic industry in Lebanon and Syria
Get PDFReverse e-logistics has proven to have high significance in terms of profits, customer satisfaction, competition, and performance’s efficiency. However, several firms in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) e-commerce field, especially in developing countries such as those in the Middle East, still neglect its importance for the survival of the firm because they don’t know how to improve reverse e-logistics (REL) performance. Therefore, the objective of this article is to identify the main factors that impact reverse e-logistics’ performance and to analyze their effect. The methods used in this article are: scientific literature review, synthesis, questionnaires, and structural equation modelling. The study is done in Lebanon and Syria with a sample of 459 companies in the electronic industry who are engaged in B2C e-commerce and is faced with reverse e-logistics’ challenges. The estimated results prove the significant impact of the identified factors: customer satisfaction, guarantee, and organization structure on reverse e-logistics’ performance, which in turn has a significant impact on the efficiency of the performance of B2C companies engaged in reverse e-logistics activities as well
From survival to business prosperity: the financial aspect of managing an organization in a crisis
Get PDFThe article is about revealing the content and role of finance capacity and financial and economic results of enterprises activity under the crisis. The article provides an understanding of crisis results at the enterprises activity in conditions of poor management and weak financial strategy. It is analyzed current business situation, including results of the companies due to the coronavirus. It is established that not only the crisis management system (if it exists at the enterprise), but also the financial management system at the enterprise has great importance during a crisis and ensures its stable functioning afterwards. With unstable financial flows and their inept coordination, a crisis for an enterprise can come much earlier (due to internal disruption) than for the whole country or the world economy as a whole. The results are based on theoretical scientific researches and financial and economic data of enterprises activity. Based on system analysis, a number of features have been identified as the building elements for the formation of understanding how to manage an organization in a crisis taking into account the financial aspect. A logical sequence of factors and their interrelationships was established within the entire process of enterprise management during a crisis. Identified elements indicate the directions that need to be implemented at the enterprise for its stable functioning even in times of crisis. According to the analyzed data, most companies used their financial reserves and were able to improve their positions. It is investigated the main common ways to reduce costs in crisis: reducing the production capacity (including the number of purchases, storage), changing the schedule of employees working day (taking into account daylight hours), reduction (closure) of sale points (which, among other things, provokes staff reduction also). It is declined ways of manager’s behavior as decide with speed over precision, adapt boldly, reliably deliver, and engage for impact, which help them to manage company effectively
Allocating participants: a mathematical model for selection process
Get PDFSelections, exams, and tests for knowledge assessment frequently require the participant be present on a facility to take a presential test. In 2017, 6.7 Million participants took the biggest Brazilian exam: Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM). Logistics is a fundamental key to the execution of these events, responsible to select the locations, allocate each participant in one of a list of possible preselect facilities, and hire temporary staff to apply the tests. Deciding the locations that will be used is a crucial step that determines the two major logistical costs (staff and rent), and a bad decision will directly impact the global costs of the event. Hence, the goal of this work is to elaborate mathematical models using Lingo 17.0 to assist the decision makers to decide which locations to use, including the designation where the participant will take the test, first to minimalize the costs and then maximize the participant service level. The resulting models include multiple complex and specific constraints solved extremely fast and focused on not only providing the best solution, but also automating a manual and time-consuming process. In addition, a trade-off curve between cost and participant service level assists the decision maker to select the best option for different scenarios
Ethnography in organizational studies: a reflection on the importance of performance evaluation in tourism
Get PDFThe present research aims to understand the feasibility of developing a multidimensional model of performance evaluation for organizational control in companies through ethnographic research. Thus, a bibliographic analysis of the studies presented in the four main events of the Brazilian organizational studies – the Colloquium of Epistemology and Sociology of Administration Science, CBEO, EnANPAD and EnEO - and in the research bases SPELL and EBSCO. The measurement of performance in a company has become a relevant subject for both academic research and practical application, because organizational control of organizational control serves to evaluate and improve the various organizational processes to establish goals and achieve performance standards that become competitive in the market. Given this context, we can see that there is a vast possibility of development in this field, through an ethnographic research, through an investigation capable of showing practices, people, groups, cultures and networks of social relations that participate differently from the tourist market, since the environment in which companies are increasingly turbulent and unstable, and decision makers are constantly seeking methods to achieve improvements in organizational performance. In this sense, it is concluded that this research offers theoretical information that can help in future studies that seek to develop a multidimensional model of indicators, besides being a source of data on the diversity of organizational indicators
Lombard activities and social security of the country: interrelation and interdependence
Get PDFThe place and value of pawnshops in the financial market are considered in the article. The main indicators of activity of pawnshops are analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of using the pawnshop services by the population are substantiated. The growth rate of pawnshop activity in Ukraine is determined on the basis of the method of estimating the integral indicator. The nature and specifics of the influence of social security indicators on the activity of pawnshops in Ukraine by means of correlation analysis are revealed. In the constructed econometric model, the factors that influence are the social security indicators of the country and the dependent values are indicators of pawnshop activity. The obtained results revealed a significant correlation between the social security indicators of the country and the indicators of pawnshop activity. The detail of the analysis showed the greatest correlation between the pawnshops' performance and the social security indicator – the ratio of the average monthly nominal wage to the subsistence level for one able-bodied person

Nowadays, people are using joystick to control motorized wheelchair. The eye-blink controller technology gives an alternative solution to mobility problem; especially for the people who are quadriplegics.
