Energy sector impact on country’s economic security: Baltic sea region EU countries’ case
The article object is to is a relatively new research direction in economic theory - economic security at the macro-level. One of the aims of this article is to reveal the country’s economic security idea and to choose methods for this economic phenomenon evaluation as well as to suggest the method to evaluate the energy sector's impact on this economic phenomenon. Firstly, the authors review different approaches to economic security principles and do some assumptions related to the country's economic security concept. There is shortly described the energy sector. Since the scientific problem is how to evaluate the energy sector and the country's security and what impact the energy sector has on the country's economic security, the authors have selected methods to analyze the links between energy sector activities and economic security. Furthermore, there were presented the results of regression analyzes and concluded what energy sector indicators influence countries' economic security
Computer model of resource demand planning for dairy farms
The research presents results of the analysis of scientific and practical conditions of planning of the needs for resources, required for the implementation of the projects of agricultural production. The work substantiates the improvement of the method of forecasting the demand of natural resources, required for fodder production. That method expects the performance of four stages, which are based on production experiments and require computer modeling. The presented method, contrary to the existing ones, considers changeable natural-climatic, subject, organization, and scale constituents of the project environment of the agricultural production projects. Using the developed computer model for forecasting of the natural resource demand for fodder production under conditions of the agricultural servicing cooperative “Pokrova” of Zabolottsi community in Brody district of Lviv region, the work has studied impact of natural-climatic, organization and scale constituents of production conditions on the variation of the natural resource demand. It is confirmed that the mathematical expectation of the area of the required field for the growing of fodder crops with a proportional change of the milking herd population is made according to polynomial dependencies of the second order. The correlation coefficient of the obtained dependencies is 0.85…0.99. It confirms a strong correlation relation between the mathematical expectation of the area of the field, necessary for the growing of fodder crops, and the structure of the milking herd population. The increase of the milking herd population results in the growth of the mathematical expectation and insufficient increase of the mean-square deviation of the area of the field, required for growing of fodder crops
Efficiency in equipment import processes: UNIVASF's case
This study aims to describe and analyze the administrative flow of equipment import process at UNIVASF considering the principle of administrative efficiency. A qualitative single case study research was carried out, with a survey and analysis of actions, administrative acts developed into equipment import processes, from 2004 to 2014, to foster, and support scientific, technological and innovation research at UNIVASF. The results show that the principle of efficiency, a promise of the new managerialism, does not resonate with the evidences pointed out in this research, due to the higher time spent to perform the phases, especially the fiscal one, due to obstacles in the administrative and legal systems
Considering an integrated malacology approach to ecosystem assessment: a socio-ecological system analysis of the terrestrial mollusks in an atlantic rainforest area, southeastern Brazil
The invertebrate group is not considered in environmental studies. When they are remembered, the studies are vague, superficial and do not give the due importance that the group has in the ecosystem dynamics. This paper aimed at placing the terrestrial mollusks in the discussion agenda of complex socio-ecological systems and analyzed the interactions of these mollusks with the other components of the socio-ecological subsystems. The analysis was based on the theoretical-methodological framework proposed by Ostrom and discussed how terrestrial mollusks have the potential to support actions for decision-making in biodiversity conservation, public health and local economy. The framework presented four subsystems categorized as ecological, political, social and economic, with the Sooretama Biological Reserve in the Northern state of Espirito Santo as a geographical boundary. The results allow us to perceive that terrestrial mollusks have essential characteristics that reflect into ecosystem health, acting in an integrated way with the dynamics of environmental services and the equilibrium of habitats
Evaluation of costs and reworks in the tires recovery process by the Monte Carlo Method: case study
Companies are increasingly seeking methods to eliminate costs, and one of the big problems in companies is rework. The objective of this study was to identify costs and rework through the application of quality tools, allied to the Monte Carlo method (MMC), comprising the productive process of tire retreading, through an exploratory study. The applied methodology was in a tire retreading industry, located in the southern Fluminense region, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. One can conclude from the use of quality tools that the main failures within the process were the vulcanization, bonding and scarification / repair and also analyze by the Monte Carlo method the costs presented in the tire reform process through 5000 interactions. Through the tools, we can quantify the failures occurred in each stage. The main contribution of this work is the identification of the costs caused by the rework in the tires of automobiles and of load
Trabecular prostheses
The complex biomechanics and morphology of the femur proximal epiphysis are presented. This specific region in the human femur is characterized by high flexibility compared to that of other primates, since evolved lighter and longer due to the human vertical position and more balanced loading. The nature and fine morphology of the femur head and its structural behavior have been investigated. Isotropic and orthotropic trabecular structures, which are not present in other primates, have been associated with compression and tension areas of the femur head. These isotropic/orthotropic trabecular morphologies and allocations govern the stress and strain distribution in the overall proximal femur region. Use of femur proper biofidel modeling while enabling the explanation of physiological stress distribution elucidates the critical mechanical role of the trabecular bone that should be accounted in the design of a new innovative more “biologic” prosthetic system
The server's turnover on a federal education institution of Rio de Janeiro: the construction of a proposal of action to aid the reversal of the talent's evasion process
Given the current scenario, where the citizen's level of demand for public services is gradually high, it is impossible to maintain the old inefficient practices in Public Administration. Given this situation, it is necessary to reformulate the methods to improve the final product, moving the current processes to an administration of a more managerial nature, based not only on efficiency, but also on the efficiency of the product returned to society. In this sense, it is conceived that such a reformulation should include Human Resources Management, also directing it to a strategic management model, through which people and, consequently, their motivation, take on a central role for the Institutions, in order to strengthen the degree of commitment between employee and Organization. As an objective, this work aimed at the construction of a proposal of action to assist a Federal Education Institution of Rio de Janeiro in the retention of its servers. In order to do so, the main factors capable of adversely affecting the process of establishment of organizational commitment, as well as the application of a questionnaire to 95 employees of the institution, were identified through bibliographic and documentary exploratory research, in order to identify the degree of relevance of these factors, and the proposition of specific actions, such as the creation of a bank of hours for the servers, in order to mitigate or even reverse the evasion of talent in the Institution
Effectiveness of organizational mission of the public security secretaries of the Brazilian States
The organizational mission is an important tool to support the management of an organization. This article aims to analyze the elaboration of the organizational missions of the Secretariats of Public Security (SSPs) of the Brazilian states, based on the elements proposed by Pearce (1982) and Pearce and David (1987). For this, the data were treated quantitatively, and soon after an analysis was made on the effectiveness of the construction of the missions, based on the criteria established by the cited authors. As a result, the elements "Product or service offered" and "Audience" were found more frequently. In the comparative analysis of the SSP mission by region of the country, two points stand out: first, the South region is the one that the missions present more elements indicated in the literature; second that the state that presented more elements was "Maranhão" located in the Northeast region
Woman political leadership in Romania versus other countries
This paper explores the Romanian women influence as political leader over the Romanian economy. The whole research is based on global gender gap index for Romania analyzed on 2013-2018 period. The data was integrated in a linear regression model. The model interpretation findings show that reducing gender gap in Romania could bring an increase on Romanian GDP. The paper states that this situation is due to a higher emotional intelligence of Romanian women as leaders. They are also characterized by perseverance and conscience. In 2017 Romania made important progress in reducing this gap, but it seems that the world political dimension gap could be closed within 99 years
Surveying the impact of authentic and pragmatic marketing by paradigm shift on brand authentic: a case study of selected Azad Universities (Anzali, Tehran Matkaz, Tonekabon)
The contextual changes of the present age have altered the former order of personal and social relations in such a way that the creation of a new order is accompanied by an epistemic crisis; the crisis of knowledge of new relationships has rendered past valuations inefficient and invalid. In this regard, Katler (1990) considers authenticity as the most influential element in this era of achieving sustainable development and customer Trust, and since the production of university knowledge is the key to sustainable development and today it is faced with quality Issues. This issues, this study aimed to investigate the effect of two marketing, namely authentic marketing and pragmatic marketing through paradigm shifts as a solution to the epistemic crisis of brand authenticity. The research method of this study is based on quantitative and descriptive-survey. The statistical population is Iranian students of Islamic Azad Universities (IAUs) stratified random sampling and sample size based on Morgan table were 385 people. Data were collected and distributed by questionnaire. Structural equation modeling technique with partial least squares approach and SmartPLS2 software were used for data analysis. The findings indicate that both authentic and pragmatic marketing are more effective on brand authenticity through paradigm shift
