Optimal policies for inventory model with shortages, time-varying holding and ordering costs in trapezoidal fuzzy environment
This paper proposes the optimal policies for a fuzzy inventory model considering the holding cost and ordering cost as continuous functions of time. Shortages are allowed and partially backlogged. The demand rate is assumed in such to be linearly dependent on time during on-hand inventory, while during the shortage period, it remains constant. The inventory problem is formulated in crisp environment. Considering the demand rate, holding cost and ordering cost as trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, the proposed problem is transformed into fuzzy model. For this fuzzy model, the signed distance method of defuzzification is applied to determine the average total cost (ATC) in fuzzy environment. The objective is to optimize the ATC and the order quantity. One solved example is provided in order to show the applicability of the proposed model. The convexity of the cost function is verified with the help of 3D-graph
Intention to use m-banking application: an empirical study in Ho Chi Minh City
The research aims to explore, measure, and analyze factors affecting the intention to use Mobile Banking (M-Banking) of customers in Ho Chi Minh City. The author conducts a convenient sampling, including 600 participants. The method of the research is the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and a multiple regression model. The results show that there are six factors such as perceived ease to use (EU), perceived usefulness (PU), trust (TR), expected performance (PE), social influence (SI), Facilitating condition (FC) affect the adoption of M-Banking. In which, Facilitating condition is the most influential factor, and expected performance is the least influential factor. Also, this study proposes some recommendations to develop an M-Banking application to help customers gain more insight into the bank as well as actively select the M-Banking application as a reliable transaction method
Socioeconomic and productive marine and estuarine fishery activity potential index
Considering the need for increased productivity, consequently providing a safe source of quality food and economic sustenance for numerous families, fishing in the State of Rio de Janeiro is configured in an important way, and with a primarily artisanal and professional nature of small bearing. In addition to the fundamental aspect of human subsistence, fishing is an important economic activity, generating several other businesses and income for other economic sectors, such as transport, storage, processing and sale of products, construction and repair of vessels, and construction of artifacts and utensils, among others. Thus, the study of potentialities and vulnerabilities involving the strengths and weaknesses of the coastal region of Rio de Janeiro will assist in actions in favor of a broad development of activity in the coastal municipalities. For this, the analytic hierarchy process was used, a multicriteria analysis method, to construct hierarchies of these municipalities in terms of potential development, and thus the analysis of the environment was performed using a matrix to analyze the scenarios. The results point out that due to the importance accorded by the interviewees to the economic sub-index, the municipality of Angra dos Reis stood out in the order of priority of defining the municipality with the highest socioeconomic and productive potentiality index for fishing activity, presenting quantitative data related to sub-indices of greater importance than the other municipalities. However, when the analysis for each subscript was carried out separately, Angra dos Reis has the lowest classification for vulnerability to environmental and social issues
Study on satisfaction level of exporters as a subset of export promotion- the multi-method study on CONCOR
The purpose of the paper is to understand the effect of the services offered by the CONCOR on the satisfaction level of the exporters and the importers, which at first, requires the comprehensive understanding of the services and the best initiatives that are been taken the CONCOR to influence the satisfaction level of the exporters and importers. This paper is based on the deductive approach which includes building up a hypothesis (or hypotheses) in view of existing literature, and afterward outlining an exploration strategy to test the hypothesis (or, hypotheses). After analysis, it has been found by the authors that the level of satisfaction of the exporters and importers is been influenced by the services offered by CONCOR and the years of engagement that the traders have with CONCOR. Also, the satisfaction level that the traders have with the add-on benefits such as discount schemes or e-filling, is very high which shows the happiness among the traders from the services of CONCOR. Through this study, CONCOR can get the ideal services that are been provided with the objective of export promotion and also the possible flaws in services can be redesigned and can also be enhanced through aggressiveness. The study is limited to the data collected from the CONCOR, Tughlakabad. Through this study, export promotion agencies including CONCOR can get the ideal services that is been provided with the objective of export promotion, and also the possible flaws in services can be redesigned and can also be enhanced through aggressiveness

Comparative analysis of the todim method adherence to prospect theory
Prospect Theory provides a broad and solid frame of reference for modeling the decision making of rational agents. In the early 1990s, the structure of Prospect Theory was used to propose a method to aid a multicriteria decision based on the process of paired comparison. The research reported in this article has empirically assessed the adherence of the mathematical model of the original TODIM method, together with its variations available in the literature, to Prospect Theory and compared them with a multicriteria method that does not use that theory. From a comparative analysis, it was realized that the different variations of the TODIM method regarding the incorporation of Prospect Theory’s rationality within the context of Multicriteria Decision Aid still do not bring the benefits of an already consolidated theory to the context of decision-making aid. Thus, it is suggested that further studies be conducted to improve the adherence of Prospect Theory within the structure of the TODIM method, so that the benefits of a consolidated theory of decision lead to better results, notably from the perspective of using the method for the purposes of forecast
Effect of monetary policy on economic growth in nigeria in the post structural adjustment programme
The study investigated the effect of monetary policy on economic growth during post structural adjustment programmer in Nigeria. It used the expo-facto design. Secondary data for the period of 1985-2015 were utilized. The data were extracted from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletin and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The linear regression with the application of Ordinary least Squares (OLS) technique was employed to estimate the parameters of the model numerically. Finding revealed that broad money supply had a positive and significant effect on economic growth in Nigeria during post structural adjustment programmer from 1986-2015. Interest rate had a negative and significant effect on economic growth in Nigeria during the same period and inflation rate had a positive and insignificant effect on economic growth in Nigeria at the same time. The study recommended that Central Bank of Nigeria should facilitate the emergence of market based interest rate that would attract both domestic and foreign investments, as well as create jobs, and promote non-oil export, while reviving industries that are currently operational, far below installed capacity. In order to strengthen the financial sector, the Central Bank has to encourage the introduction of more financial instruments that are flexible enough to meet the risk preferences and sophistication of operators in the financial sector
Ballast water management: technology choice comparing TODIM and THOR 2
This paper approaches the problem of ballast water treatment in ships. This has been identified as one of the four greatest threats to the world’s oceans. Solutions that have been considered for solving the problem are alternative water treatment technologies. In the case study reported in this paper three major water treatment technologies have been evaluated with the help of twenty-six criteria, quantitative as well as qualitative by using two discrete multicriteria methods, TODIM and THOR 2. The THOR 2 consists of the axiomatic evolution of the THOR method and both THOR 2 and THOR are made available through the THOR Web platform. Five groups of evaluation criteria are then considered: practicality; biological effectiveness; cost/benefit ratio; time frame for the implementation of standards; and environmental impact of the process' sub-products. In this paper a case study on choosing a ballast water treatment technology is presented. Three alternative ballast water management technologies are proposed by experts in the field and are evaluated with the help of twenty-six criteria, quantitative as well as qualitative. Each ballast water management method is described by a list of twenty-six attributes or criteria. After setting the problem in a clear way and consulting different experts, the two separate applications of both TODIM and THOR 2 are performed. What is denoted as Management Method #1 is indeed chosen as the best alternative according to both methods. The conclusion is that those two methods, although conceptually and analytically quite different, lead essentially to the same main results. Two other applications of both TODIM and THOR have indeed confirmed the convergence of results in spite of the conceptual and technical differences between the two methods. This suggests that formulating a decision problem in a correct, clear-cut way can be at least as important as the technical characteristics of the method per se
Supply Chain - innovation: past, present, and future
Nowadays, one of the factors that enable businesses to adapt to markets that are constantly renewed and changing due to the ever-increasing flow of information, and perhaps the most important, is innovation. Innovation is a topic that is frequently studied by both markets and academics. However, the increase in the quantity of studies conducted is far from meeting the need in this field. As a result of the shortening of product life cycles in current market conditions, companies are obliged to continuously innovate in order to sustain their existence. Increasing raw material and resource diversification requirement due to the increasing need for innovation made it necessary to examine and understand the supply chain in the context of innovation. The importance of innovation, especially in the case of participation by suppliers in innovation for a competitive advantage, has resulted in many in-depth studies published in research papers in the field. In this study, articles published in the Web of Science database between 1996-2020 and covering the topics of supply chain and innovation were analyzed in order to reveal the patterns of supply chain management and innovation research, identify relative deficiencies and provide some guidelines. For this purpose, a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis related has been made. It has been possible to determine the effective actors in the field by including the distribution of the concepts in question according to time, countries, universities and journals. In addition, as a result of the keyword analysis, the evolution and open points of the field over time are among the findings of the study
Study of forces in a 2T9R robot mechanism
The paper presents in detail a method of calculating the forces acting on a 2T9R type robot. In order to determine the reactions (forces in the kinematic couples), one must first determine the inertial forces in the mechanism to which one or more useful loads of the robot can be added. The torsor of the inertia forces is calculated with the help of the masses of the machine elements and the accelerations from the centers of mass of the mechanism elements, so the positions, velocities, and accelerations acting on it will be determined, i.e. its complete kinematics. The calculation method applied by a MathCad program intelligently uses data entry through the IFLOG logic function so that the calculations can be automated. So the effective automation of the calculation program is done exclusively through the IFLOG functions originally used in the paper
