    Within the framework of national integrity the ocean possesses two key aspects that is, of security and prosperity. The demarcation of the outer limits of national maritime territory and jurisdiction including delimitation of boundaries with neighboring countries will provide a legal basis for a number of marine activities such as defense, fisheries, navigation, seabed and subsoil exploration and exploitation, marine tourism and others. Boundary issues for Indonesia, whether on land, at sea even in the air, have always been a matter of national priority. At present, Indonesia still have some unresolved boundary delimitation with its neighbouring countries. The completion of the boundary of Indonesia’s maritime territory and jurisdiction shall also ascertain Indonesia’s maritime authority as an independent and sovereign state, provides security for the whole nation, and the fulfillment of strong economy through the utilization of marine resources. This paper would examine various factors affecting the delimitation of maritime boundaries, legal status of the boundary of maritime territory and jurisdiction of Indonesia, the outermost islands issues, and boundary delimitation process

    The Asean Security Community (ASC) is a framework to facilitate political and security cooperation in ASEAN. The ASC is a framework based on the idea of comprehensive security with the strategic thrusts of conflict prevention, peaceful conflict resolution, and post-conflict peace building. A framework of this nature represents one of the ultimate goals of ASEAN, which has achieved a record of political cooperation since its inauguration. All nations of Southeast Asia except Timor Leste are now members of ASEAN. There are any ASEAN’s Security Challenges, such as old and new insurgencies - southern Philippines, southern Thailand, Myanmar, West Papua, political uncertainty and instability - Myanmar, Thailand, inter-state disputes and tensions - Thai-Cambodia border, South China Sea conflict, power shift and great power rivalry - China/US, China-India, China-Japan, and transnational/non- traditional security threats – terrorism, transboundary haze, maritime piracy, pandemics, transnational crime, drug trafficking, people smuggling, natural disasters). This paper disscuss abaut security cooperation in ASEAN and some achievements of ASEAN as regional organization on combating transnational crimes and transboundary challenges. Komunitas Keamanan ASEAN (ASC) merupakan sebuah pedoman untuk memfasilitasi kerjasama di bidang politik dan keamanan di ASEAN. ASC merupakan pedoman yang didasarkan pada ide keamanan menyeluruh dengan cara penceghan konflik, penyelesaian kondlik secara menyeluruh, dan upaya damai pasca konflik. Pedoman jenis ini merepresentasikan salah satu tujuan tertinggi ASEAN, yaitu untuk mencapai kerjasama politik semenjak pembentukannya, Semua negara-negara Asia Tenggara kecuali Timor Leste merupakan anggota-anggota ASEAN. Meskipun begitu dilansir dari media berita nasional terkini , terdapat tantangan keamanan yang dimiliki oleh ASEAN, misalnya pemberontakan lama dan baru – Filipina Selatan, Thailand Selatan, Myanmar, Papua Barat, ketidakpastian dan ketidakstabilan politik – Myanmar, Thailand, sengketa-sengketa dan tekanan antar negara-negara anggota – Perbatasan Thailand-Kamboja, konflik Laut Cina Selatan, pergantian kekuasaan dan persaingan kekuasaan– Cina/Amerika Serikat, Cina-India, Cina-Jepang, dan ancaman-ancaman keamanan – terorisme, ketidakjelasan perbatasan, pembajakan di laut, wabah pandemic, kejahatan-kejahatan transnasional, penyelundupan obat-obatan terlarang, penyelundupan manusia, bencana alam. Tulisan ini akan membahas mengenai kerja sama keamanan di ASEAN dan beberapa keberhasilan yang telah diraih ASEAN sebagai organisasi regional dalam memberantas kejahatan-kejahatan transnasional dan tantangan antar perbatasan

    Since the end of World War II, international law of human rights have a rapid and significant improvement so that it's become the primary source of law when state, international organization, and individual faces the human rights problems in all over the world. Efforts from the world community to improve the system of human rights protection achieve it's culmination point when the UN diplomatic conference agreed the Rome Statuate about International Criminal Court. Indonesia does not ratify that convention because Indonesia already has the law of human rights that is in the Law Number 26 Year 2000. This regulation applied to severlas cases of human rights violation in Indonesia such as Abilio Jose Osorio Soares case, Soedjarwo case, and G.M. Timbul Silaen. In those cases, the definition of "a systematic and widespread attack" becomes the main discussion. The Rome Statute applies the principle of "non-retroactive" while the Indonesian human rights law applies the principle of "retroactive"
