New Product Development for a Startup Company (WOODKA)
Abstract. WOODKA is a startup business established on September 2013 running in watch industry. WOODKA, as a new startup, needs to develop its line of product by expanding the product design and variety. Up until now, there is no specific design guideline that can be used to develop the next product varieties of WOODKA. Therefore, this research has the objective to explore WOODKA’s design strength according to customer and to find sets of important design attributes that is most preferred by costumer. The study was conducted using direct interview and mail survey which later analyzed with conjoint analysis. The direct interview was to find the most important attribute according to the provider and its previous customer input. The mail survey was later used to ask customer to give rank for the selected combinations which attributes are wood type (ARRO, KOVU, ORLA, NIEO), strap (pattern, leather, printed, plain), and watch’s shape (round, oval). The conjoint analysis was used to find the utilities and importance value of those attributes. The result of this study shows that the attribute that customer consider most in buying WOODKA’s product is the strap, which means that the concept of interchangeable strap WOODKA has really affect customer’s choice. Another result is that the most preferred attribute’s levels according to the utilities are leather strap, round-shaped watch, and ORLA wood type. Analysis of Brand Loyalty Toward Ngopi Doeloe\u27s Cafe in Bandung Using Brand Experience
Abstrack Nowadays many cafés was established in Bandung. Competitiveness between café to get market also increases. However, for now, it is not just get the new market but how to maintain the customer. So, brand loyalty becomes so important for company to invest in the future. Therefore, brand loyalty will be analyzed in this study. In addition, in this research also discuss about brand experience, what is the most influential between the four-dimensions of brand experience (sensory, affective, intellectual and behavioral) toward brand loyalty. The research object that will be taken is Ngopi Doeloe’s Café.. Ngopi doeloe is one of the famous café in Bandung whereas this cafe recently established. The conceptual framework that used in this study is taken from Brakus (2009). It explains about the influence of brand experience (sensory, affective, intellectual and behavior) toward brand loyalty. The methodology that will use in this research is non-probability method by using questionnaire as equipment research to get the data. The questionnaire contains statements of brand loyalty and brand experience as variables in this study. Then, the method to take a sample is using judgment sampling with taking sample size 155 Bandung’s people who ever consume coffee in Ngopi Doeloe. The data from questionnaire will be analyzed by multiple regression to know the influence brand experience toward brand loyalty. Meanwhile, the value of brand loyalty is determined by Ms. Excel. The conclusion showed that brand loyalty of Ngopi doeloe is low at 3,151 on a scale of 7. While the influence of the four dimensions of brand experience on brand loyalty are all positive and the results of multiple regression analysis showed that the most influential among the four dimensions of brand experience is behavioral experience.           Keyword : Brand loyalty, Brand experience, Ngopi Doeloe’s cafÃ
The Antecedent of Air Asia Indonesia Brand Trusts on Indonesia Domestic Customer and the Effect of QZ 8501 Disaster to Their Future Trust and Purchase Intention
Abstract.In December, 28th 2014, QZ 8501 which departed from Ir. Djuanda Airport, Surabaya to Changi International Airport, Singapore encountered machine problems because it hit the Cumulonimbus Cloud which engendered stall and finally crashed down near the Cape Pandan, Kalimantan. Many controversies arose after the tragedy such as QZ 8501 flight permission issued by the ministry of Air Transportation, the downfall of the Air Asia Indonesia profits, decreasing number of Air Asia Indonesia’s load factor and passengers level at the end of 2014 and finally the traumatic problems to the Indonesia society right after the tragedy in terms of their intention to using Air Asia. This study has three aims which are: a) to determine the Domestic customers preferences while choosing Airlines services using Kraskull-Wallist test, b) to understand the current trust and willingness to purchase from the Domestic customers towards Air Asia Indonesia seven months after the tragedy using Qualitative and Quantitative approach and c) trying to examine the relationship between Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Corporate Image to the Brand Trust and Purchase Intention towards Air Asia Indonesia from Domestic Customers perspective. The result from this study indicates that a number of common aspects that customers consider while choosing Airlines such as Safety aspects as the main priority. Related to the Customer Brand Trust and Purchase Intention towards Air Asia Indonesia, above 80 percent of respondents still trust and willing to purchase. This research indicates that all of Airlines in Indonesia especially Air Asia Indonesia try to build their new image and get back customers trust by convincing the customers that they already increased their safety especially with the increase of plane accidents happened lately. Forecasting and Volatility Analysis of International Soybean Price From 2004 until 2014
Abstract.Soybean is the important commodity in Indonesia because its benefit. As the source of protein, soybean has been known and used for many food products such as tofu, tempe, ketchup, etc and most of the people of Indonesia tend to eat Tofu and tempe. The problem arises because Indonesia has become the importer of soybean and the international soybean price is volatile since 10 years. The price volatility can rise uncertainties and makes financial & strategic investment planning more difficult especially for soybean processor. Based on that problem, this paper is aimed to know the future price forecasting and the volatility of international soybean price in the next ten years. The result of this paper would be a baseline to hedge toward risk in soybean industry area. The sample of data is monthly international soybean price in periode of December 2004 until November 2014, counted for 120 observations. This financial time series data could be analyzed using Autoreggresive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) to show the result of the future price forecasting and volatily of soybean. There are three models tested here: ARIMA(1,1,0), ARIMA(0,1,1), and ARIMA(1,1,1). The result of this study shows that ARIMA(1,1,0) is the best model to forecast the international soybean price in the next ten years. Later in the forecasting result, there is strategy that can be recommended for soybean industry and importer to hedge against the volatility. The price predicted to rise sharply start from November 2016 until July 2018 so the soybean processor and importer especially should be prepared to establish forward futures contract before October 2016 for period November 2016 until November 2017 and December 2017 until July 2018 to lock the price against the upcoming trend that will come. After that the forward future contract shoukd be set once again to encounter with the upcoming trend which expected occur the next three years until August 2022. Keywords : soybean, volatility, future price, forecasting, ARIM
Superior Strategic Markowitz Portfolio in Weak form Inefficient Jakarta Stock Exchange
Abstract. Capital market has become a regular investment alternative for investors. The existence of capital market provides the chance for investors to maximize their assets. However, capital market has its own risk characteristic. Related to the chance of risk and return, Jakarta Stock Exchange is available to provide the high possibility of earning return, respectively it also provides the high possibility of risk, as it is inefficient of weak-form market efficiency. Investors need to arrange the excellent investment strategy to prepare the investment action in Indonesia.Regarding to the availability of risk and return, investors have their own preference of investment. In general, investors are categorized as aggressive, moderate, and conservative risk profiled. The aggressive investors tend to select more risky assets in order to earn more return though they have to face the higher possibility of risk. The moderate investors tend to select the assets with fair possibility risk and return. And the conservative investors tend to select the assets that provide the lower risk though it will reduce the chance of gaining more return. To incorporate with this condition, investors need the excellent portfolio strategies for their investment. This study is using combined means-variance Markowitz portfolio combined with Merrill Lynch asset allocation for projected portfolio 2015 to 2018. And the results are efficient. Exploratory Study of Customer Delight in Music Festival: A Case Study of Focal Point 2015
Abstract. The number music festival in Bandung has increase rapidly in recent years and the competition that tighter than before. In accordance with growth of music festival in Indonesia and Bandung both in numbers and creation, it is not enough for creating event that made the visitor felt satisfied, they have to be delighted. Having a delighted customer will leads into higher loyalty level of customer more than satisfied customer. Hence, this research is intended to analyzing the journey of customer delight formation and took a case of Focal Point 2015. Focal Point is a bi-annual thematic music festival that took picnic as the theme that has ambition to grow in the future. Hence, it is not enough to create an event that make visitors feel satisfied, they have to be delighted. To know the journey of customer delight in Focal Point 2015, author combining several concept of customer delight into a conceptual framework for measuring customer journey since there is no exact variables in measuring customer delight. The variables are consists of surprisingly positive performance, positive affection, level of satisfaction, and customer delight. Qualitative research is applied for this research in order for knowing deeper of what visitors really think and feel towards experience given by Focal Point 2015. Purposive case is used to map out the surprise elements that triggering customer delight on each person and conclude it based on the saturated pattern of data. Fifteen respondents were interviews for generating the customer delight journey. Positive surprise elements are found as the catalyst to delighted customer. Of the entire positive surprise element, atmosphere and picnic activity as Focal Point 2015 theme were indicating as the most memorable when visitor recalled the moments. The result of this study confirms that visitors of Focal Point 2015 were delighted towards all the experience perceived from the event. Financial Literacy Index and Inclusion of Indonesian Flight Attendant
Abstract. Financial literacy studies are currently being concerned in global financial institutions since it provides contribution to the economic development of a country. However, the study using sample in one particular group that has the similar background is yet limited. This study examines the level of financial literacy and financial inclusion of Indonesian flight attendant, a sample not investigated yet in any literature. Flight attendant is an occupation with the fairly promising salary without any degree requirements that may suggest the needs of financial knowledge to utilize the various financial and investment services to make proper financial decisions. This study aims to: (1) measure Indonesian flight attendant financial literacy level and inclusion using the sample of PT XYZ, (2) examine the determinant of the financial literacy level and inclusion of Indonesian flight attendant, and (3) examine the relationship between the level of financial literacy of Indonesian flight attendant and the demography factors with their financial inclusion. Further, this study also provides suggestions to PT XYZ on how to improve their flight attendant financial literacy and inclusion based on the results of this study. In financial literacy measurement, simple weight factor is employed to determine basic and advance financial literacy weight. Further, regression is employed as the analytical tool to examine: (1) the determinant of demographic factors toward the financial literacy level; and (2) the determinant of demographic factors and financial literacy level toward the financial inclusion. Logistic regression is employed to see the determinant for the possession of investment service and financial adviser. The findings indicate that Indonesian flight attendant have low level of advance and overall financial literacy level. In financial inclusion, the level of financial and investment service possession of Indonesian flight attendant were quite low (except for bank card and credit card). In terms of investment possession and financial adviser possession, the result shows the low percentages that were consistent with the study conducted by The World Bank (2011). Logistic regression shows that both basic and advance financial literacy were significantly associated with the level of investment possession and financial adviser possession. The final OLS regression finds that basic financial literacy has the most significant determinant to the level of financial service inclusion (significant at 1% level). Meanwhile in the investment service inclusion, the highest determinant is the advance financial literacy level (at 1%). Based on the findings, this study suggests PT XYZ to improve their flight attendants’ financial literacy by conducting financial education, since the willingness of financial education of PT XYZ is quite high. For further research, this study could be re-conducted by adding Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to get the more representative result, changing the research object to other professions or other segments, and adding behavioral finance issues to extend the literature.Keywords: Financial Literacy; Financial Inclusion; Financial Education; Indonesian Flight Attendant; Flight Attendant Financial Literac
The Analysis of Tupperware Marketing Strategy: Consumer Behavior Approach
Abstract. Consumers have needs and wants that need to be fulfilled, where the needs and wants influenced by the internal or external factors. The company who able to provide the product that can fulfill the consumer demand will win the competition in the market. The company should able to build an effective marketing strategy that suitable with their market segments. One of products that have a stiff competition is plastic container for food and beverage. There are big companies that sell this kind of products. Thus, Tupperware as the leading company of plastic container product needs to know the consumer behavior of plastic product in order to win the competition and can not defeat easily by the competitor. This research presented a data about Tupperware company, specifically about marketing strategy of Tupperware. This research will observe one of distributor Tupperware that located in Padang area, named PT Bumi Padang Gempita since this company faces the declining of sales growth percentage. Therefore, this research focused on the checking the relevancy between marketing strategy of Tupperware with the consumer behavior of plastic container product in Padang. The marketing strategy will be derived from the depth-interview with the distributor of Tupperware and the employee. While the consumer behavior will be derived from the questionnaire that includes demography of respondent, marketing mix, and decision-making process of consumer. After that, the consumer behavior will be analyzed using the K-means of cluster analysis from SPSS Software. Cluster analysis is used to categorize the consumer of plastic product based on the tendency of consumer in purchasing plastic container product. The research’s result shows that consumer of plastic container product divided into four clusters. Each clusters indicates the different characteristics of consumer in purchasing plastic product. In addition, the marketing strategy of Tupperware is relevant with the cluster number one and number three, which comprise of the durability, quality, function, material of product and also the promotion.Keywords: consumer behavior, marketing strategy, K-Means cluster analysis, Plastic container product, Tupperware
Analyzing Engagement of Outsource Employee Study. Case: PT Bravo Humanika Perkasa
Abstract- Every organization has employees who work for them and build a connection with it. The longer employees work for an organization, the more they commit to the organization itself. This commitment that employee have can become the engagement for them. In PT Bravo Humanika Perkasa, there are a permanent employee with the agreement, and there are outsource employee. Outsourcing is not new in Indonesia, and the development is so high. But, even with the high development outsourcing in Indonesia, there are still many problems that have been seen. So this study aims to analyse the engagement of outsource employee in PT Bravo Humanika Perkasa. The sample used in this study is simple random sampling in the Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang, and Depok area with total respondents to 100 people. To see the relationship of independent variables on the dependent variable, multiple linear regression method is used. This result of this research is performed that consist of 11 variables which affect the engagement. From 11 variables, there are 3 variable with a very strong relationship with the level of employee engagement.
