CBT- and EMDR-based Trauma-Focused Therapy for Treating Trauma in Elderly Women Victims of Sexual Violence in Ledokombo, Jember
The unique aspect of this study lies in the integration of CBT and EMDR, which are usually used separately in trauma therapy, resulting in a more comprehensive approach to trauma healing. This study also focuses on victims of sexual violence in the rural area of Ledokombo, Jember, who are rarely the subject of research, thus presenting a contextual, innovative, and culturally sensitive therapy model. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the combination of CBT and EMDR is effective in helping to reduce trauma symptoms such as excessive anxiety, nightmares, flashbacks, and deep feelings of guilt and shame. CBT helps clients identify and modify maladaptive thought patterns that trigger distress, whereas EMDR facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memories, thereby alleviating emotional burdens. The therapeutic process is conducted gradually and tailored to the physical and psychological condition of the elderly, creating a sense of safety and trust during the intervention. In conclusion, the integration of Trauma-Focused Therapy based on CBT and EMDR has a significant positive impact on the psychological recovery of elderly women who are victims of sexual violence, and can serve as a relevant intervention model applicable in rural communities with a culturally sensitive approach. This study provides practical contributions for counselors in implementing culturally sensitive integrated therapy, and has implications for rural communities in raising awareness and support for survivors of sexual violence
Psychospiritual Approach to Academic Stress in Broken Home Students: The Junggringan Kawruh Jiwa Method
This study aims to analyze the management of academic stress in students from broken homes through a psychospiritual approach using the Junggringan Kawruh Jiwa method. Using a qualitative approach based on phenomenology, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that students experience academic anxiety in the form of fear of rejection, pressure to succeed, and impaired concentration due to family conflict, which impacts psychological well-being and academic achievement. In response, the Junggringan Kawruh Jiwa method was implemented, integrating self-introspection, spiritual strengthening, and Javanese cultural values such as obedience, yielding, and patience. Implementation was carried out through meditation, dhikr (remembrance of God), inner discussions, and spiritual guidance after congregational Dzuhur prayers. Teachers assessed that this method was able to improve student behavior, however, challenges arose such as teachers' lack of understanding in integrating traditional and religious values, limited resources, and student resistance to traditional values. This study contributes in the form of a culturally based contextual psychospiritual intervention model as an alternative to addressing psychological problems in students, especially those from broken family backgrounds
The Impact of Parental Career-Related Interference on School Burnout: A Mediation Analysis of Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy
School burnout characterized by emotional exhaustion, cynicism toward learning, and feelings of incompetence—remains a critical issue in adolescent education, often exacerbated by parental interference in career decision-making. This study examined the direct and indirect effects of parental career-related interference on school burnout, with career decision-making self-efficacy as a mediator. The sample consisted of 383 students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (Islamic Senior High Schools) in Bekasi City, Indonesia. Using a quantitative cross-sectional design, data were analyzed through Hayes’ PROCESS Macro Model 4 to test mediation effects. The results revealed that parental career-related interference positively predicted school burnout (β = 0.27, p < 0.05) and career decision-making self-efficacy (β = 0.31, p < 0.05). In turn, career decision-making self-efficacy negatively predicted school burnout (β = –0.19, p < 0.05). The mediation analysis confirmed a significant indirect effect of parental interference on school burnout through self-efficacy (β = –0.060; 95% CI [–0.14, –0.01]). Descriptive statistics showed that the mean scores for school burnout (M = 58.28, SD = 13.93), parental interference (M = 44.83, SD = 6.51), and career decision-making self-efficacy (M = 87.03, SD = 13.27) reflected a relatively consistent response pattern among participants. These findings highlight the contextual nature of parental involvement. In collectivist societies, some forms of parental career-related interference may be viewed as supportive guidance, which can enhance students’ self-efficacy and reduce school burnout. Practical implications for school counseling interventions and strategies to cultivate constructive parental engagement are discussed
Managing Academic Anxiety and Cultivating Self-Kindness to Enhance Emotional Well-Being among Students at Nurul Qur'an Tahfidz Boarding School, MAN 1 Kudus
This study explores the management of academic anxiety and the application of self-compassion to enhance the emotional well-being of students at Nurul Qur’an Tahfidz Boarding School, MAN 1 Kudus. Students in the tahfidz and academic programs often experience anxiety related to Qur’an memorization and examinations that require mastery within a limited timeframe. Using a qualitative approach through interviews and observations, this study investigates students’ experiences in managing anxiety through self-compassion practices, prayer, dzikr, and social support from peers and mentors. The findings reveal that self-compassion, which includes self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness, plays a crucial role in reducing academic anxiety. Students who practice self-compassion are more able to accept failure as part of the learning process, remain calm, and stay focused during memorization and exams. Spiritual practices and social support also strengthen emotional well-being by fostering inner peace and solidarity. This study concludes that the integration of self-compassion, spiritual practices, and social support forms an effective strategy for managing academic anxiety and improving emotional well-being among students in Islamic boarding schools
Influence of Trust Issues and Social Media Exposure on Duck Syndrome Among Islamic Boarding School Students at Nurul Madani Pulutan, Salatiga
This study aimed to examine the influence of trust issues and social media exposure on duck syndrome among Islamic boarding school students (mahasantri) at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Madani Pulutan, Salatiga. The phenomenon of duck syndrome has recently attracted increasing attention, as many individuals—particularly students—appear calm and content externally while struggling internally with anxiety and emotional distress. The research employed a quantitative approach with 68 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through validated scales measuring trust issues, social media exposure, and duck syndrome. The statistical analysis revealed that trust issues had a significant effect on duck syndrome (t = 4.237; p = 0.000 < 0.05), while social media exposure showed no significant effect (p = 0.057 > 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.415, indicating that trust issues and social media exposure together explained 41.5% of the variance in duck syndrome, with trust issues emerging as the dominant predictor. These findings highlight that trust issues play a crucial role in shaping the emotional and behavioral responses of students, whereas the influence of social media exposure is limited due to the controlled and religious environment of Islamic boarding schools

Strengthening the Role of Implementers of the Minimum Age Restriction Policy to Prevent Child Marriage Through Group Counseling in Karimunjawa
The implementation of the minimum age for marriage in the Karimunjawa Islands has not complied with Law No. 16 of 2019, as underage marriage remains high. This issue arises from the policy’s non-acceptance by its implementers, who view the policy as ineffective due to its overlap with marriage dispensation laws and its contradiction with local cultural values, which are permissive towards underage marriage. To address this, group counseling sessions were conducted alongside the establishment of a Joint Forum to Prevent Child Marriage. These initiatives aimed to increase awareness and foster collaborative efforts. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, encompassing assessment, program planning, implementation, and evaluation, significant improvements were observed in understanding, acceptance, and compliance with the policy. Furthermore, the program successfully facilitated the development of collaborative governance to support the prevention of child marriage in Karimunjawa
Website-Based Cybercounseling: Education on Preventing Sexual Violence for adolescents
The purpose of this research is to develop a website-based cybercounseling model as an educational tool for the prevention of sexual violence for adolescents. This research employs Design Thinking, a research method intended to produce a specific product, which includes the stages of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The samples were chosen through purposive sampling and were of a snowball sampling nature with the criteria of having an interest in adolescent issues, particularly concerning sexual violence, and a low level of understanding of sexual violence. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews to analyze the level of understanding of sexual violence and the gender attitudes held, including cognitive understanding, attitudes, and behaviors, while the t-test was used to analyze the effectiveness of the product. The research concluded that the developed application is named 'SETARA MENYAPA'. This application is developed in the form of a website application, consisting of profile components and an article menu that contains education about sexual violence and a help menu that includes counseling services and online complaints, criticism and suggestions, as well as contact persons. The feasibility test of the application scored 85.29 in the good category. Its impact on the prevention of sexual violence can be seen from a 45% increase in understanding of sexual violence, a 30.4% increase in sexual efficacy, and a 34.1% decrease in permissive attitudes. The effectiveness test of the model was measured using the t-test, revealing a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (p=<0.05), meaning that the Website-Based Cybercounseling Model is effective in increasing understanding of Sexual Violence, thus it is appropriate to be used as an educational tool for preventing sexual violence among adolescents. The scientific contribution of this research lies in integrating Islamic and gender perspectives into digital counseling, offering a culturally responsive innovation for adolescent education. However, this study is limited to small-scale trials within one higher-education setting, requiring further validation through broader and longitudinal studies
