Empathy is an important asset in building conducive social relationships and forming a caring and responsible personality in the future. The formation of empathy can be influenced by internal and external factors. This study aims to examine the influence of school climate, self-concept and socio-emotional competence on the formation of empathy in adolescents. The research design used a quantitative approach with participants of adolescent high school students (n = 377) selected by cluster random sampling. Empathy was measured using the Interpersonal Reactivity Indeks-IRI  Scale(α=0,978), school climate was measured with The School Climate Measure Scale-SCM (α=0,936), self-concept was measured with the Personal Self Concept PSC Scale-PSC (α=0,798), and socio-emotional competence was measured using The Delaware Social-Emotional Competence Scale DSEC (α=0,880). The analysis technique used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) which is processed using AMOS software. The results showed that the proposed research model can be supported by empirical data. This means that a positive school climate and a healthy self-concept together create an environment that supports the development of empathy in adolescents

In the upcoming era of sustainability, energy companies face various environmental issues, necessitating innovation from their employees to tackle these challenges. This study aims to identify whether intrinsic motivation moderates the indirect effect of Person Job Fit mediating the relationship between Business Acumen and Innovative Work Behaviour. This study was conducted at a publicly listed energy sector company, involving 271 permanent employees who have worked for at least one year. Convenience sampling was used to select the participants. The measurement tools included Business Acumen (α = 0.95), Person-Job Fit (α = 0.79), intrinsic motivation (α = 0.80), and innovative work behavior (α = 0.80). Data analysis using Process Macro Model 14 showed that Business Acumen (BA) has a significant direct effect on both Person-Job Fit (P-J Fit) and Innovative Work Behavior (IWB). However, intrinsic motivation does not significantly moderate the indirect effect of P-J Fit. Nevertheless, P-J Fit is proven to mediate the relationship between BA and IWB at certain levels of intrinsic motivation. This study significantly contributes to the literature and practical implications for companies in enhancing employees' innovative behavior

Conscientiousness dan phubbing pada mahasiswa: Menguji peran kepuasan hidup sebagai moderator: Conscientiousness and phubbing in college students: Testing the role of life satisfaction as a moderator

    No full text
Phubbing, or the phenomenon of cell phone use by college students when interacting with others, is a phenomenon that requires careful attention. This neglect of others and a greater focus on cell phone use makes phubbing a cause for concern, as it impacts students' academic and social relationships. Factors influencing phubbing are conscientiousness and life satisfaction. This study aimed to explore whether life satisfaction moderates the effect of conscientiousness on phubbing in college students. This study involved 306 college students recruited through convenience sampling. The measurement instruments used were the Satisfaction with Scale (α=0,868), the Phubbing Scale (α=0,990), and conscientiousness (α=0,614). Moderation analysis was used for data analysis. The results revealed that life satisfaction did not significantly moderate the effect of conscientiousness on phubbing in college students. Conscientiousness remained influential on phubbing, regardless of the students' level of life satisfaction. This condition is suspected to be related to cognitive flexibility and failure experiences, which could be confounding variables in the interaction between conscientiousness and life satisfaction. Future research should consider cognitive flexibility and failure experiences as mediating variables. Keywords: cognitive flexibility; life satisfaction; phubbing; trait conscientiousness

This research aimed to examine the role of parental support, as an important construct in collectivist culture, in the relationships between career goal discrepancy and career goal revision among Indonesian young adults. We surveyed 357 first year private university students (Mage=18,70 years, SD=0,92; 67% female) who were hired by using the accidental sampling technique. We collected participants’ data by using The Negative Career Goal Discrepancies Scale (α=0,91), The Influence of Others on Academic and Career Decisions Scale (α = 0,85), and The Downward Goal Revision Scale (α=0,88). The moderation analysis showed that parental support was a statistically significant moderator of the relationship between negative career goal discrepancy and downward goal revision. The interaction effect between negative career goal discrepancies and parental support was significant in decreasing levels of career goals in young adults, both in the group who felt they had parents who were very supportive in achieving their career goals and those who were less supportive. It highlights the important role of parental support in career planning

The retail industry currently faces dynamic challenges, including market pressure, regulatory changes, and technological advancements, all of which require organizations to maintain a high level of readiness for change. This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational justice on organizational readiness to change, with psychological empowerment as a mediating variable, in a retail company in Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed, involving 120 respondents from lower management levels. Data were collected using validated scales and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicate that organizational justice has a direct, positive, and significant effect on organizational readiness to change. Furthermore, psychological empowerment was found to serve as a significant mediator in the form of complementary mediation. This means that psychological empowerment complements but does not eliminate the direct effect of organizational justice. These findings highlight that the implementation of fairness principles and the strengthening of psychological empowerment are key to effectively and sustainably enhancing organizational readiness for change

Keterkaitan presenteeism dan job satisfaction pada pekerja pra-lansia: Menguji peran mediator resilience dan work-health balance: The relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction in pre-elderly workers: Testing the mediating role of resilience and work-health balance

    No full text
The high level of job satisfaction in Indonesia does not necessarily indicate the same perception of work across all age groups, especially among pre-elderly workers (aged 45–59 years). This research aims to investigate the relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction among pre-elderly workers, while also testing the mediating roles of resilience and work- health balance. This research uses a quantitative correlational approach and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis technique on data from 146 pre- elderly workers who have experienced presenteeism due to minor illnesses. The findings show that neither dimensions of presenteeism are not directly related to job satisfaction. Although the completing work is positively associated to resilience, resilience was not found to mediate the relationship between presenteeism and job satisfaction. On the other hand, both presenteeism dimensions were related with work-health balance. Work-health balance was found to be a significant mediator only in the relationship between completing work and job satisfaction. These findings highlight the importance role of work-health balance in supporting job satisfaction among pre-elderly workers who practice presenteeism

Peran mediasi collective self-esteem dalam meningkatkan kompetensi media sosial melalui kewarganegaraan digital di kalangan mahasiswa: The mediating role of collective self-esteem in enhancing social media competence through digital citizenship among college students

College students face challenges in developing social media competencies that support their participation in digital citizenship. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between digital citizenship and social media competency mediated by collective self-esteem among college students (N = 736). The web-based study was used to collect data by convenience sampling and three measurement instruments, the digital citizenship scale (α= 0.90) to measure digital citizenship, the social media competence scale for college students (α= 0.92) to measure social media competence, and the collective self-esteem scale (α= 0.94) to measure collective self-esteem. The data were analyzed using Hayes mediation analysis with 5,000 percentile bootstrap samples and a 95% confidence interval. The results of the mediation test through jamovi (Version 2.3.2) showed that collective self-esteem played a role in mediating the relationship between digital citizenship and social media competence. However, the role of collective self-esteem as a mediator is not perfect because of its small effect. The findings prove that evaluating the student's national identity is indirectly a form of attitude toward maintaining a positive group (state) to control relational activities and citizenship by adopting social media. The findings emphasize the importance of strengthening college students' collective identity to support more positive and responsible use of social media within the context of digital citizenship
