Homeroom Management Model to Improve Pancasila Learner Profile

The homeroom teacher plays a crucial role as a parental substitute in strengthening students' character at school. One method of character reinforcement is through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile (P4). Effective and consistent management by the homeroom teacher is essential for this implementation. This study aims to develop a homeroom teacher management model to enhance the quality of strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The study addresses three main research questions: the characteristics of the homeroom teacher management model, its validity, and its practicality. Data collection instruments included observation sheets and questionnaires validated by experts. The product was validated by experts and tested at SDN 01 Koto Baru and SDN 13 Koto Baru. Qualitative data were gathered through surveys, and qualitative insights were obtained through observations, feedback, and written suggestions for improvement. Needs analysis results indicated deficiencies in the planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of activities by homeroom teachers. This research produced a validated instrument that is both valid and reliable. The practicality of the homeroom teacher management model to enhance the Pancasila Student Profile, and the management guide, was determined based on homeroom teachers' responses to the model's practicality and guidance. The study resulted in a homeroom teacher management model and a management guidebook to improve the quality of strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. These findings are expected to significantly contribute to homeroom teachers in reinforcing students' character in alignment with the Pancasila Student Profile

The challenges of implementing inclusive education programs in outermost, frontline, and Underdeveloped areas

The government has initiated an inclusive education program as an effort to enhance educational equality for children with special needs who experience physical, mental, and social limitations. This policy is regulated under Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System and further elaborated in Ministerial Regulation No. 70 of 2009 on Inclusive Education, where inclusive education is defined as an educational system designed for children with special needs and/or children with special talents so they can learn together with other students in regular schools. Inclusive education has been implemented nationwide, including in Outermost, Frontline, and Underdeveloped Areas (3T), although challenges persist in fully implementing inclusive education in schools. This study aims to describe the challenges faced by educational institutions in implementing inclusive education in 3T areas. The research employs a literature review method by analyzing 25 academic articles related to the primary topic of inclusive education, sourced from Google Scholar, Research Gate, Elsevier, and several books. Based on the reviewed studies, challenges in implementing inclusive education in Indonesia, especially in 3T areas, include: teachers' insufficient qualifications, making it difficult to provide the best services for children with special needs; a curriculum that is not flexible enough to meet children with special needs, causing difficulties in understanding learning materials; inadequate facilities and infrastructure; and limited support from parents, communities, and the government in the implementation of inclusive education. To achieve effective inclusive education, collaboration, commitment, and concrete efforts from all stakeholders are necessary to ensure children with special needs receive equal educational opportunities

Improving the Academic Supervision Ability of Elementary School Principals in Using Hybrid Supervision Model through Online Training

Supervision constraints, which are carried out face-to-face or fully online, encourage the creation of a hybrid supervision model. To be able to carry out supervision in a hybrid manner, supervisors need to be equipped with knowledge and skills to be able to apply it appropriately. The objective of this study is to improve the ability of Education supervisors to carry out hybrid academic supervision through online training. This research approach was a mixed method with school action research methods. The subjects of this study were 20 people consisting of the principal and vice principal. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and tests. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive data analysis of Miles and Huberman models and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results showed an increase in the ability of participants after attending the training. This is proven by the increase in knowledge, skills and attitudes of trainees from pre-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2. In the pre-cycle stage, knowledge scores 32, skills 53, and attitudes 49. In cycle 1 the posttest results score knowledge 57, skill 75, and attitude 64. And in cycle 2 increased knowledge score 87, skill 93, and attitude 88. Based on the results of cycle 2, it can be seen that all participants have been able to achieve the established success indicator of ≥ 80. Thus, it can be concluded that online training can improve the ability of participants to apply hybrid model academic supervision

The low level of student engagement and achievement in vocational economics learning necessitates the application of innovative instructional models. This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on student learning activity and outcomes in the Economic Business subject. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was employed. The participants were 61 tenth-grade students from SMK Negeri 1 Painan, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated instruments: learning outcome tests and observation sheets. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including independent samples t-tests, were used for data analysis. Results show that the experimental group, which received PBL treatment, had significantly higher posttest scores (M = 89.90) and N-Gain (0.72) compared to the control group (M = 76.68; N-Gain = 0.35). Student activity in the experimental group also increased steadily across sessions. Statistical tests confirmed that the differences in both outcomes and activity were significant (p < 0.05). These findings support the effectiveness of PBL in promoting active learning and improving student achievement in vocational educatio

The Influence of Digital Literacy, Independence, and Learning Motivation on Student Learning Effectiveness Through Self-Efficacy

In the era of digital transformation, vocational students are required to master not only technical skills but also digital competence, learning autonomy, and strong motivation. However, various challenges such as low digital literacy, limited learning independence, and fluctuating motivation levels hinder the effectiveness of learning processes in vocational schools. This study aims to examine the influence of digital literacy, learning independence, and learning motivation on learning effectiveness, with self-efficacy acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach using an explanatory survey method was applied to a sample of 197 vocational high school students selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed that all three independent variables significantly affect learning effectiveness, both directly and indirectly through self-efficacy. Among them, self-efficacy demonstrated the strongest effect. The findings underscore the importance of enhancing students' self-efficacy to maximize the impact of digital literacy, autonomy, and motivation on learning outcomes. These results contribute to educational theory and practice by highlighting the mediating role of self-efficacy in vocational learning setting

The Contribution of School Principal Leadership and School Culture to Teacher Performance

Teacher performance plays a crucial role in determining the quality of education. However, many schools continue to face challenges related to suboptimal teacher productivity, which may be influenced by leadership and cultural factors within the school environment. This study aims to examine the contribution of principal leadership and school culture to teacher performance. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. Data were collected from 80 teachers across several schools through structured questionnaires. The variables measured included principal leadership, school culture, and teacher performance. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that both principal leadership and school culture had a strong and positive correlation with teacher performance, with correlation coefficients of 0.684 and 0.701, respectively. Furthermore, the regression analysis indicated that principal leadership and school culture together contributed significantly to teacher performance, with an R² value of 0.581. Among the two, school culture demonstrated a slightly higher influence than leadership. In conclusion, the findings suggest that enhancing both leadership practices and school culture can significantly improve teacher performance. It is recommended that school management prioritize the development of effective leadership strategies and the cultivation of a positive, collaborative school environment to support teacher growth and performance outcome
