Die Kompetenzverteilung und die EU. Beiträge zur Rechtsgeschichte Österreichs|Beiträge zur Rechtsgeschichte Österreichs Band 2 / 2021|

The fragmentation of the Austrian distribution of competences between the federal government and the Länder does not offer favourable framework conditions for the adoption of Union law in the state legal system. The requirement of a uniform application of Union law exerts a certain centralising pressure on the legal orders of the Member States. As a result, several modifications of the distribution of competences in favour of the federal government have taken place since Austria joined the EU. If this development continues, it could lead to a gradual change in the nature of the distribution of competences between the federal government and the Länder in Austria

The Copenhagen Wooden Stela AAd6 from the National Museum of Denmark: an unusual testimony of the 22nd Dynasty. Ägypten und Levante|Ägypten und Levante XXXI 31|

The subject of this article is a wooden stela (AAd6) kept in the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. By iconographical and typological criteria, this object is datable to the 22nd Dynasty and probably comes from the Theban area. The stela displays several particularities, among others, one of the longest genealogies preserved on this object type. Alongside a careful investigation of the different iconographical elements and a new translation of the text, this contribution looks into the onomastic and the prosopographical material, examining different titles such as “ḥnk-nw.w-priest in southern Heliopolis” or “wab-priest in chief of the estate of Mut, the great one, the mistress of Isheru.” This study not only reconstitutes the family tree but also connects this object with three others, that are datable to a timeframe from the 21st Dynasty to the beginning of the 26th Dynasty. An excursus focusing on the painting sequence of the text and depictions contributes to a better understanding of the creation of wooden stelae in the Third intermediate Period

How can farmers be better integrated into nature parks? AgriPark – Transdisciplinary development of approaches for better cooperation between agriculture and Regional Nature Parks. eco.mont (Journal on Protected Mountain Areas Research and Management)|eco.mont Vol. 14 No. 1 14 1|

In the AgriPark project, a transdisciplinary approach was used to develop ways of integrating agriculture better into Regional Nature Parks. It revealed that there are no ready-made solutions and longer processes involving a wide range of stakeholders are needed to develop closer cooperation between parks and agriculture

Report on the International Symposium of Mountain Studies, part of the 34th International Geographical Congress, Istanbul (16–20 August 2021). eco.mont (Journal on Protected Mountain Areas Research and Management)|eco.mont Vol. 14 No. 1 14 1|

The 34th International Geographical Congress was held online from 16 to 20 August 2021. Its main themes were strengthening our collective response to global problems and building bridges between continents. The International Geographical Union Commission of Mountain Studies (IGU-CMS) organized an International Symposium of Mountain Studies (Istanbul) as part of the congress, with 11 presentations over three different sessions. Three explored the development of mountain research methodology (montology), which underpins the advancement of mountain science. These focused on: montology as applied to mountain conservation; getting to grips with urbanization; and the reality of periglacial geographies. Other topics covered by the presentations included disciplinary methods of ecosystem dynamics, land-use change, transhumance, climate change model simulations of terraced landscapes, conservation of flagship species and mountain responses to extreme weather scenarios. The IGU-CMS also presented its plans for an edited book series on montology and announced the launch of its first volume (Montology Palimpsest: A Primer of Mountain Geographies) in time for next year’s IGU Paris 2022

Perturbation analysis of matrices over a quaternion division algebra. ETNA - Electronic Transactions on Numerical Analysis

    No full text
In this paper, we present the concept of perturbation bounds for the right eigenvalues of a quaternionic matrix. In particular, a Bauer-Fike-type theorem for the right eigenvalues of a diagonalizable quaternionic matrix is derived. In addition, perturbations of a quaternionic matrix are discussed via a block-diagonal decomposition and the Jordan canonical form of a quaternionic matrix. The location of the standard right eigenvalues of a quaternionic matrix and a sufficient condition for the stability of a perturbed quaternionic matrix are given. As an application, perturbation bounds for the zeros of quaternionic polynomials are derived. Finally, we give numerical examples to illustrate our results
