Law and Identity. Considerations about Citizenship and Succession in Provincial Practice. Akten der Gesellschaft für Griechische und Hellenistische Rechtsgeschichte|(28) Symposion 2019 Akten der Gesellschaft für griechische und hellenistische Rechtsgeschichte Band 28|
There is evidence to assume that legal intercourse between differentclasses of provincial populace was more intensive than commonly assumed inscholarly literature. Focused on the period before the Constitutio Antoniniana, aresponse of Scaevola will be introduced regarding a Greek parakatatheke inter vivosbut employed in inheritance context (D. 32.37.5 18 dig.). Upon the paradigmaticcase it can be argued that the ‘choice of law’ was not only based on status, but alsoon personal considerations, even among Roman citizens in a provincialenvironment
Demographic Change in Models of Endogenous Economic Growth. A Survey.
The purpose of this article is to identify the role of population size, population growth andpopulation ageing in models of endogenous economic growth. While in exogenous growthmodels demographic variables are linked to economic prosperity mainly via the populationsize, the structure of the workforce, and the capital intensity of workers, endogenous growthmodels and their successors also allow for interrelationships between demography andtechnological change. However, most of the existing literature considers only theinterrelationships based on population size and its growth rate and does not explicitly accountfor population ageing. The aim of this paper is (a) to review the role of population size andpopulation growth in the most commonly used economic growth models (with a focus onendogenous economic growth models), (b) discuss models that also allow for populationageing, and (c) sketch out the policy implications of the most commonly used endogenousgrowth models and compare them to each other.JEL classification: J10, O16, O4
Gender Differences in the Transition to Adulthood in France: Is There Convergence Over the Recent Period?
Numerous studies have shown that educational attainment and labour force status have astrong impact on the timing of family formation for both men and women. The effects ofeducational level, enrolment in an educational setting and employment seem to be differentfor men and women. The aim of this paper is to investigate how gender-specificdifferences in family formation changed over time, particularly, whether these differenceshave vanished in recent years. We use a large-scale survey (more than 240,000 men andwomen born after 1940) conducted within the French 1999 census and apply event historytechniques. The sample size allows us to test our hypotheses with more sophisticatedmodels that cover several interactions. Our data fully support the convergence hypothesisfor men and women with regard to the effects caused by educational attainment and theworking status (working/not working). However, it is only partly relevant for the effects oftheir enrolment status on entry into first union and parenthood. The impact of workexperience on first union and first parenthood has developed similarly over time for bothmen and women
Burg Schönwerth. Archäologische Re-Prospektion einer wüsten mittelalterlichen Niederungsburg in Volders, Tirol. Archaeologia Austriaca|Archaeologia Austriaca Band 105/2021 Band 105/2021|
