    ABSTRACT - The purpose of this study was to (1) Identify the type of fungus found on red rice tape (Oryza sativa glabberima). (2) Determine differences in students the skills  to plan  experiments  in  teaching and learning process  with additional learning resources  in the form of modules  results  in  the learning process without additional module on research results of class X SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta. This study population is the entire class X SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta odd semester of the academic year 2011/2012. The sample in this study were students in class X-7  as a  control class  and the  class X-8  as a  class  experiment. Cluster sampling technique with Random Sampling. The results of biological research in the form of  modules  as  independent variables and  students'  skills  to plan  the experiment as the dependent variable. Data collection techniques of  the skills  to plan an experiment using the documentation and observation sheet. Techniques of data analysis using  t test.  This study is a  quasi-experimental studies  (Quasi Experiment) using Randomized Control Design Only. The results of  this study summed up as  follows:  (1) Fungi  in  the red  rice tape  involved in  rice  fermentation  process  found  two  genera  of  Saccharomyces and Aspergillus viewed from morphological features.     ABSTRACT - This research aims to find out the effect of the active learning strategy Mind Maps towards students’ learning achievement of the class XI IPA at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar. This study is a quasi-experimental studies which use Posstest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable in this research is the application of implementation of active learning strategy on Mind Maps whereas the dependent variable is students’ achievement in learning biology at 3 levels’, namely, cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The population of the study is the entire class XI at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2010/2011. The samples are taken towards control and treatment group. The sample is taken by using Cluster Random Sampling method. The data are collected by using test (for cognitive achievement) whereas for the affective and psychomotor aspects the data are taken by using observation methods. The obtained data are analyzed by using t-test. The result shows that the implementation of active learning strategy has taken good effect towards students’ achievement in affective and psychomotor aspects, but has not on the cognitive achievement students in class XI IPA of Karanganyar SMA Negeri 2.     ABSTRACT – The purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of implementing Listening Team method accompanied Talking Stick toward student’s achievement at SMP Jaten, 2) the influence of student’s starting ability toward achievement of biologi at SMP Jaten, 3) the interaction between teaching method and student’s starting ability toward achievement of biology at SMP Jaten, 4) the influence of a greater teaching method between conventional  teaching method and Listening Team method accompanied Talking Stick toward achievement of biology. This research wasquasiexperimental research using Randomized Control Only Design. The teaching method and the student’s starting ability were independent variable and the achievement of biology wasdependent variable. The population of this research wasthe VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Jaten on 2 nd semester, in the academic year 2010/2011. The sample of this research wereclass VIII-D as the experimentalclass and class VIII-F as the control class. Technique of collecting the achievement of biology data used documentary technique and test. While technique of analyzing the data used two ways anova which continued by further test using Bonferroni method to find out the level of treatment influence. The conclusion of this research were: 1) there was the significant influence of implementing Listening Team Method accompanied Talking Stick toward student’s achievement of biology in SMP Negeri 1 Jaten, 2) therewas the significant influence of student’s starting ability toward achievement of biology in SMPNegeri 1 Jaten, 3) there wasn’tinteraction between teaching method and student’s starting ability toward achievement of biology in SMP Negeri 1 Jaten, 4) based on further test Listening Team method accompanied Talking Stick is greater teaching method than convensional method.     ABSTRACT -  This research aims to find out : (1) the effect of the implementation of active learning strategy; Active Knowledge Sharing strategy towar student achievement in Biology at the grade of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; (2) the effect of students’learning style toward student achievement in Biology at the grade of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; and (3) the interaction between learning strategy and learning style simultaneously toward student achievement in Biology at the grade of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta. Learning process at school which is dominated by teacher causes student  haven't got active role. The different learning styles of the students necessitate the teacher has to use varied and innovative learning strategyes that enable students to be actively involved in learning process. The use of those strategies are expected to be able of optimizing students  achievement. This research belongs to Quasi experiment which use Randomized Control Only Design. The independent variables of this research are learning strategy and learning style, while the students’ achievement in Biology is the dependent variable. The population of this research is all student of  Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta in Academic Year 2011/2012. The sample of this research are the students of class X-5 as the control group and the students of class X-4 as the experimental group that are taken by cluster random sampling. The data of the students’ achievement are completed by test and observation techniques. Learning style is meansured by questionnaires. The analysis technique of this research is two away anava in different cell while the advance analysis is Bunfferoni test. From the results, it can be concluded that: : 1) Active Learning;  Active Knowledge Sharing strategy has significant effect toward biology’s student achievement (cognitive, affective, and psycomotor) of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; 2) Learning style does not have significant effect toward biology’s student achievement (cognitive, affective, and psycomotor) of Class X  at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; 3) There is an interaction between learning strategy and learning style toward biology’s student achievement (cognitive, affective, and psycomotor) of Class X  at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta.   Key Word: Student Achievement In Biology, Active Learning,  Active Knowledge Sharing, Learning Styl

    ABSTRACT – The purposes of the research is to increase students learning activities through the implementation of inquiring minds want to know learning strategy in students of X-7 Class SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta School Years 2011/ 2012.  This research is a  Classroom Action Research    with  2  cycle of action. Each cycle consisting of 4 phases which is planning, action, observation, and reflection. Observational subject is students of X-7 Class SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta school years 2011  / 2012. Observational data  obtained from the questionnaire, observation, and interview. Technical analysis of data is using descriptive qualitative. Validate data by use of triangulation techic.  Result of the research to prove that with action performing through learning strategy purpose  inquiring minds want to know  can increase students learning activities in students of X-7 Class SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta School Years 2011/ 2012. Averagely assesses percentage each indicator of students  learning activities based on questionnaire data for pre cycle was 72,62%, first cycle was 78,07% (worked up 5,45%) and second cycle was 81,36% (worked up 3,29%). Meanwhile on a percentage point each indicator of students  learning activities based on observation data for pre cycle was 71,31% and first cycle was 71,40% (worked up 0,09%). Averagely assesses percentage each indicator of students learning activities  based on observation data for second cycle was 79,01%  (worked up 8,61%). The result of interview with student indicates that implementation of  inquiring minds want to know  learning strategy can increase student curiousity by search in any information source. Base that result gets to be concluded that learning strategy purpose  inquiring minds want to know  can increase students learning activities of X-7 Class SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta School Years 2011/ 2012.     ABSTRACT – This research aims toimprovebiologi’s  science skill process towards students in grade of X-8 of SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjoby implementation of Think Talk Write strategy based on contextual learning. This research belongs to Classroom Action Research. Qualitative research paradigm is used asan approach to view all the obtained data.This Classroom Action Research is performed and consist of3 cycles. Each cycles consist of four stages namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data for each cycle were gathered by using 3 kinds of data collection procedures, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. All the obtained data then were analyses descriptively to ascertain whether the applications of Classroom Action Research is considered as effective or otherwise. From the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of Think Talk Write strategy based on contextual learningtowards students of class X-8 SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo academic year 2010/2011 has given a good effect. According to theobservationof student activities indicators is rise from  62,25% to the 77,08% during the 1st Cycle and rise up to 82,25% during the last Cycle. As compare to the previous observationthe result of thequestionnaireupon the same indicators is rise from 65,02% to the 70,69%duringthe 1st Cycle and ended with  77,55 % during the last Cycle. Yet it can be concluded that the application of Think Talk Write strategy based on contextual learning could improve the science skill process.     ABSTRACT – The objective of this study is to improve student  independence in learning biology by implementing Inverted Teaching Approach (Reciprocal Teaching) on Environmental Management material. This research is a  classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation of the action,observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were VII-G  class students of SMP Negeri 5 Karanganyar in the academic year of  2010/2011. The number of the students was 32. The technique and instrumen of collectiing data were questionnaire, observation, and interviews. The technique of analyzing data was descriptive analysis techniques. Triangulation technique was used in data validation. The results proved that by implementing Inverted Teaching Approach (Reciprocal Teaching) students' independence in learning biology enhanced. It is based on the results of questionnaires, observations and interviews. The questionnaire of students’ learning independence showed that the mean percentage of students’  achievement  in  each  indicator in pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II was 67.97%, 72.55%, and 77.58% respectively.  The observation of students’ learning independence showed that the mean percentage of students’ achievement in each indicator in pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II was 39.68%, 67.5%,  and 80.62% respectively. It can be concluded that  the implementation of Inverted Teaching Approach (Reciprocal Teaching) can enhance students learning independence.     ABSTRACT – The purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of index card match active learning strategy to the result of study biology; 2) the influence of student’s learning motivation to the result of study biology; 3) the interaction between learning strategy and learning motivation to the result of study biology: and 4) the influence of better learning strategy to the result of study biology. Background problems in this research are biology teachers, in general, are still not implementing the strategy of active learning in delivering learning, some teachers are oriented to the achievement of the cognitive. Lack of interaction between teacher and student, and also teachers do not involve students actively in each learning activity. Students’ motivation  in learning Biology is low because some students take identical biological material by rote.  Index Card Match  is an appropriate strategy applied to high school students because these strategies involve students in active, containing elements of the game, and gives a nice effect that will facilitate and enhance motivation to learn more diligent and to obtain the optimal results of biological studies.  This research was quasi experiment research using  Randomized Control Only design.  Independent variables were  learning strategy and learning motivation, whereas student’s achievement of study biology was the dependent variable.     ABSTRACT – This research aims to find out the effect of the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach based media towards students cognitive achievement of the class X at SMA Negeri 1 Kebakkramat. This study is a quasi-experimental studies which use Randomized Control Only Design. The independent variable in this research is the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach based media whereas the dependent variable is students cognitive achievement. Research population is all of students on class X at SMA Negeri 1 Kebakkramat in academic year 2010/2011. The samples are taken towards class X-2 as control group and class X-3 as treatment group. The sample is taken by using Cluster Random Sampling method. The data are collected by using test. The obtained data are analyzed by using t-test.     ABSTRACT – The purposes of this research were to know: 1)  the influence of learning  strategy  toward achievement   biology of student’s on XI IPA grade of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo  ;  2)  the  influence  of  student’s  learning  activity  toward achievement  biology of student’s  on XI IPA grade of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo ; 3) the interaction between learning  strategy  and student’s learning activity  toward achievement  biology  of student’s  on XI IPA grade  of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo  and;    4) the influence of the combined effects between of  learning strategy  and  student’s learning activity which better  of student’s  on XI IPA grade  of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo  This research was a quasi experiment research with Randomized Control Only Design. Learning strategy and student’s  learning activity were  independent variables and student’s achievement of study biology was the dependent variable. The population of this research was all of student’s on Xl lPA grade of SMAN 1 Sukoharjo. The samples of  this  research were  the student’s of class Xl  IPA 4 as the control class and  student’s of class XI  IPA 3 as  the experimental class. The sample of this research was established by Cluster Random Sampling. The techniques for collecting data were had test, questionnaire, and observation. The data were analyzed by anava two away in different cell and then continued test anova with test LSD to understand treatment influence step. The conclusion of this research were: 1)  the learning strategy had significant influence  toward achievement  biology in cognitive, affective and pshycomotor domain of student’s on XI IPA grade of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo ; 2) the student’s learning activity  had significant influence  toward achievement of biology  in  pshycomotor  but  didn’t  have  significant  influence  in  cognitive and afective domain of  student’s on XI  IPA grade of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo; 3) there wasn’t    interaction between  learning  strategy  and  student’s  learning  activity toward achievement of biologi cognitive, affective and pshycomotor  domain  of student’s on XI IPA grade of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo  and  ;  4)  on the strength of continued test have been  obtained  results that significant  influence the effect of the combination  between  of learning strategy  and learning activity  which the achievemenant biology of higher with the use of active learning Student Question Have observed from the high student’s learning activity in cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain of student’s on XI IPA grade of SMA N 1 Sukoharjo.
