本論文は，「飽和・不飽和粘性土における力学特性の異方性に関する研究」と題し，7 章
より構成されている．第 1 章では，本研究の背景と目的，本論文の構成について述べてい
る． 
第 2 章では，飽和・不飽和土の力学特性や粘土の異方性に関わる既往の研究について文
献調査を行い，解決すべき課題を指摘している． 
 第 3 章では，排水条件や粒度（粘土鉱物）の違いが，飽和土の力学特性に及ぼす影響に
ついて実験的検討を行っている．その結果，排水条件下では異方性が発現しなかったが，
非排水条件下では，最大主応力方向差（圧密時とせん断時の主応力方向の差）が大きくな
るに従い，最大偏差応力（強度）も低下した．この異方性の傾向は，試料が異なっても同
様であった．これより飽和粘性土の異方性は，有効応力が変化することにより発現するこ
とを明らかにした． 
 第 4 章では，サクションや応力履歴，せん断ひずみ速度の違いが，不飽和土の力学特性
に及ぼす影響について実験的検討を行った．その結果，CS 試験（排気・排水を許すことに
よってサクションを一定に保つ）では異方性が発現しなかったが，CW 試験（排気は許すが，
排水させないことにより含水比を一定に保つ）では異方性が発現した．また，CS 試験にお
いても，せん断ひずみ速度を早くすることで異方性が発現し，CW 試験と同様の傾向を示し
た． 
 第 5 章では，第 3 章と第 4 章で得られた試験結果を比較することで，飽和・不飽和粘性
土の力学特性について比較検討を行っている．サクションが増加した供試体は，強度が著
しく増加し，明確なピーク値を示すようになる．強度異方性に関しては，飽和，不飽和の
違いによらず非排水条件下で発現し，その低下率は不飽和土が1割程度であるのに比べて，
飽和土では 5 割程度と顕著な異方性を示す． 
第 6 章では，本研究で得られた試験結果を Fredlund らが提案する不飽和土のせん断強度
式に代入したところ，異方性を有した供試体でも適用可能であるということを示した．こ
の強度式を用いれば，三軸試験から得られる強度定数を利用するだけで，特殊な装置を必
要としないメリットがある．ただし，破壊時までの間隙水圧の変化を予測する必要がある．
そこで，飽和・不飽和土において，間隙水圧の変化に着目したところ，同じ異方応力状態
で作製された供試体であれば，飽和・不飽和土の違いによらず破壊時の間隙水圧の変化量
は同程度の値を示すことが明らかとなった．サクションを変化させたデータの蓄積が必要
であるが，飽和土の試験結果から，不飽和土の間隙水圧の変化量を推定して，土の強度異
方性を予測できる可能性を示した． 
 最後に，第 7 章では，本研究で得られた結果をまとめ，三軸試験から強度異方性の予測
が可能になることで，従来の方法に比べ，簡便でより精密な強度異方性を推定できること
を結論付けている．よって，本論文は工学上及び工業上貢献するところが大きく，博士（工
学）の学位論文として十分な価値を有するものと認める．

本論文は、「集光型太陽光発電システムの包括的設計解析および試験検証」と題し、5 章よ
り構成されている． 
第 1 章「緒論」では，集光型太陽光発電(Concentrator Photovoltaics: CPV)に関する従来
研究の概要を示すとともに、本研究の目的と範囲を述べている． 
第 2 章「散乱光活用型 CPV システムの包括的設計解析」では，直達光を高効率且つ小面積
の太陽電池セルに集め，散乱光を低コストの太陽電池セルで捕集する散乱光活用型 CPV のコ
ンセプト（以下，CPV+と表現する）を新たに提案し，発電量増加割合の理論予測を示した．
また，セル－モジュールレベルの設計から発電プラント全体の発電量の定量化を目的として，
光学解析，熱解析，電気解析，追尾誤差解析，影解析等を含む包括的設計手法を確立し，本
手法を CPV+に適用した結果を述べている．適切な配置により従来の固定非集光型太陽電池シ
ステムに比べ約 2 倍の発電量が得られることを示した． 
第 3 章「CPV+システムの試験検証」では，CPV+モジュールを試作し，試験検証を行った結
果，散乱光を活用できない従来 CPV モジュールに対する発電量の増加割合が，理論予測と良
く一致することを示した．また，CPV+モジュールでは，散乱比 0.30～0.55 の条件で散乱光か
ら得られる発電量のピークが得られた．この散乱比は世界の大多数の都市における日射条件
に適合していることを示した． 
第 4 章「各種 CPV システムの設計解析および試験検証」では，従来 CPV における各種の技
術課題の解決に向けたアプローチを行い，3 つの知見を得た．まず，負の屈折率材料を集光レ
ンズに適用することでモジュール厚さを約半分，許容角を 1.8 倍にでき，レンズ材料の屈折
率の波長分散による光学的効率の低下も抑制できることを示した．次いで，カルーセル方式
追尾架台と Off-Axis ミラー集光器を組み合わせ，屋上面などに設置しやすい装置全高の低い
新規 CPV システムの開発に成功した．さらに，大量生産技術として確立している LED パッケ
ージング技術を適用でき，且つ高性能な集光系の設計を行い，自由曲面を有する集光レンズ
の具体的な仕様を明らかにした． 
第 5 章「結論」では，本研究で得られた知見を総括している． 
よって、本論文は工学上及び工業上貢献するところが大きく、博士（工学）の学位論文と
して十分な価値を有するものと認める。

集光型太陽光発電システムの包括的設計解析および試験検証

The anaerobic sulfur oxidation reaction occurred in the upflow anaerobic sludge blanket 
(UASB) reactor treating municipal sewage is an interesting phenomenon where it occurred without 
the presence of electron acceptors. This phenomenon seems to be a new discovery where there were 
no studies reported previously regarding this phenomenon and the knowledge on this matter is still 
lacking and unclear. Therefore, several analyses were conducted to identify the factors that made this 
anaerobic sulfur oxidation to occur. 
In this study, anaerobic sulfur oxidation was regenerated by using bioelectrochemical reactor 
(BER) under several conditions, which were oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) control, non-ORP 
control, stirring and BES (2-bromo ethanedisulfonic acid) added condition, to investigate the effect of 
these parameters on the regeneration of anaerobic sulfur oxidation. Under the ORP control condition, 
the anaerobic sulfur oxidation was regenerated, whereas other conditions failed to regenerate the 
anaerobic sulfur oxidation reaction. The microbial community structures in the ORP control BER 
system, where the anaerobic sulfur oxidation were regenerated, were analyzed using cloning and 
terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) analyses. The results showed that 
phylum Proteobacteria was the major group observed where Syntrophobacteraceae and 
Desulfovibrionaceae family of sub-phylum δ-Proteobacteria were the most abundant bacteria groups 
found in the anaerobic sulfur oxidation reaction samples. These bacteria groups are known as sulfur 
reducing bacteria. 
The microbial community structures in the UASB reactor were also been analyzed and 
identified using cloning and T-RFLP analyses. The archaeal community had just relatively low and 
simple diversity which acetate-utilizing methanogen Methanosaeta spp. was the dominant group of 
the domain archaea at all times. Whereas, the bacterial community presented high diversity which 
genus Smithella of phylum Proteobacteria was the major bacterial group observed in the UASB 
reactor, followed by uncultured bacteria of phylum Caldiserica. The bacterial communities observed 
in the UASB reactor and in the anaerobic sulfur oxidation regenerated BER system showed a similar 
result where phylum Proteobacteria was the most abundant bacteria group found in the anaerobic 
sulfur oxidation samples. 
To gain greater insights into microbial biodiversity and its role in anaerobic sulfur oxidation, 
an extensive analysis of the abundance, distribution, characteristics and phylogenetic diversity of 
microorganisms exist in the UASB reactor was conducted by next generation sequencing analysis. 
Consistent with the results mentioned above, phylum Proteobacteria was the most abundant bacteria 
group observed during the period of anaerobic sulfur oxidation which genera Smithella as well as 
Desulfovibrio and Desulforhabdus were the major bacterial groups present. Besides phylum 
Proteobacteria, uncultured bacteria of the phylum Fusobacteria was also the major bacteria group 
observed during the period of anaerobic sulfur oxidation, where it demonstrated a sudden and marked 
increase in the second compared to the first oxidation period. Representatives of the phyla 
Caldiserica, which were the major bacterial group observed earlier, decreased gradually in number in 
both initial and second anaerobic sulfur oxidation period. However, only the genus Desulforhabdus 
and uncultured bacteria of the phylum Fusobacteria were influenced by the temperature which 
suggested that these two bacterial groups are likely to be related to the sulfur cycle and to play a role 
in anaerobic sulfur oxidation. 
From these observations, it can be suggested that this anaerobic sulfur oxidation reaction was 
mediated biologically by the microorganisms, and it can therefore be concluded that (i) genus 
Desulforhabdus, which is SRB, could have a dual function and can also act as SOB, and/or (ii) 
uncultured bacteria of the phylum Fusobacteria probably related and play an important role in 
anaerobic sulfur oxidation. However, further analyses are required to elucidate the pathways that are 
utilized by these bacteria to oxidize sulfur to sulfate and to gain greater insight into the basis of 
anaerobic sulfur oxidation in the UASB reactor. In addition, some other SRB probably have a dual 
function and play a role in anaerobic sulfur oxidation as well. These findings will be a novel 
discovery in this field of study and will give a great impact on the development of denitrification

Characterization and Profiling of Microbial Community Diversity Associated with Anaerobic Sulfur Oxidation in an Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Reactor Treating Municipal Sewage

The present research work consists of three major sections; the first part is the 
synthesis of CNTs via water-assisted CCVD of methane CNTs, followed by the 
development of a surfactant-free method to synthesize two-phase anatase-rutile TiO2 
composites at 350 oC, and finally, the developed method was applied to fabricate 
anatase-rutile TiO2-CNTs composite for the photoreduction of CO2 with water. 
The findings in the first part showed that an introductory of a controlled amount 
water vapor into methane CCVD ambient increased the carbon yield and improved the 
morphology of as-grown CNT. It enhanced and prolonged the catalytic activity by 
selectively etched amorphous carbon coated on of active sites surface, thus 
decelerating the deactivation rate of catalyst. Furthermore, water induced oxidation 
etched away the amorphous carbon that adhered to CNT wall was etched away by 
water-induced oxidation. However, an excessive water vapor supply was found to 
suppress the methane conversion and lessening the carbon yield, which is due to the 
oxidation of active sites by excessive water vapor. Further experimental studies 
showed that an interruption of water vapor supply in water assisted methane CCVD 
provoked the formation of CNT with inner cap structure morphology. Moreover, the 
interruption of water vapor supply distorted the ordered graphitic layers of as-grown 
CNT. 
In the second part, a facile and surfactant-free method is developed to 
synthesize two-phase TiO2 composite at 350 oC. The obtained TiO2 composite consists 
of a phase-mixture of anatase and rutile. The phase transformation from anatase to 
rutile at 350 oC is attributed to the free O-O groups formed in peroxo-titanium complex.

Furthermore, the absorption edge of the obtained two-phase TiO2 composite is 
red-shifted compared with the single-phase anatase TiO2, with an estimated band gap 
value of 3.07 eV. Anatase-rutile TiO2 exhibited a higher photocatalytic activity on CO2 
reduction than single-phase anatase TiO2, and the photocatalytic performance of the 
as-produced anatase-rutile TiO2 is on a par with the commercial Aeroxide® P25 TiO2. 
The effect of Pt loading on the photocatalytic activity of the anatase-rutile TiO2 was 
investigated, where the 0.1 mass% of Pt loading exhibited the highest CO2 
photoreduction efficiency with selective CH4 formation. The total CH4 formed is ca. 
60-folds higher than the parent anatase-rutile TiO2 over a reaction duration of 3 h. The 
selective formation of CH4 is ascribed to the enriched electron density on Pt particles 
which favored the reduction of CO2 to CH4 via an eight-electron transfer process. 
Finally, the method developed in second part was applied to synthesize 
anatase-rutile TiO2-CNTs composites. An increase in the CNTs content led to a 
significant increase in light absorption in the visible range (>400 nm). Among the 
synthesized composites, composite with 5 mass% loading of CNTs demonstrated the 
best performance for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2. However, a further increase 
of CNT content decreased the yield of CO and CH4, which is attributed to the high 
content of CNT shield the TiO2 from absorbing UV light. A simple mixing of TiO2 
(P25 and T0C) with CNTs is not able to fabricate an effective TiO2-CNT composite for 
photoreduction of CO2 due to a phase detachment between TiO2 and CNTs.

本論文は、「Study on Structure and Properties of Organic Substance with the Nanomatrix 
Structure（ナノマトリックス構造を有する有機物質の構造と物性に関する研究）」と題し、
７章より構成されている。  
第１章「緒論」では、有機材料のモルフォロジーの３次元観察技術および天然ゴムのナ
ノマトリックス構造と物性との関係に関する従来の研究の概要を示すとともに、本研究の
目的と範囲を述べている。  
第２章「天然ゴムのタンパク質の除去」では、溶出タンパク質量および窒素含有率の低
い脱タンパク質化天然ゴム（DPNR）の調製が検討されている。リーチングでは溶出タン
パク質量は大幅に減少するが全窒素含有率はほとんど変化しないのに対し、脱タンパク質
化では溶出タンパク質量および全窒素含有率はそれぞれ 0.0 μg/gおよび 0.000 w/w%に激
減し、ナノマトリックス構造は消失することが実証されている。  
 第３章「新鮮天然ゴムにスチレンをグラフト共重合することにより形成されたナノマ
トリックス構造」では、ナノマトリックス構造を形成することにより、天然ゴムの力学物
性を改良する検討が行われている。DPNR の引張強度はナノマトリックス構造を形成する
ことにより 2 MPa から 22 MPa に向上することが見出されている。  
 第４章「ナノマトリックス構造を有する天然ゴムの FIB 加工」では、集束イオンビー
ム／走査型電子顕微鏡（FIB‐SEM）観察および透過型電子線トモグラフィー（TEMT）
観察によるナノマトリックス構造の 3 次元（3D）イメージを得る検討が行われている。ク
ライオミクロトームを用いた加工では物理的接触のダメージは大きいが、FIB 加工ではダ
メージは小さくなることが示されている。  
 第５章「非平衡凍結状態に変形されたナノマトリックス構造の 3D FIB-SEM および
TEMT 法による観察」では、モルフォロジーの 3D 観察を行うことにより非平衡凍結状態
に変形された天然ゴムナノマトリックス構造の力学物性への効果が検討されている。ナノ
マトリックス構造を不連続にすることにより損失正接は周波数に対して一定となり、連続
的に繋げることにより引張強度および貯蔵弾性率の値は増加することが見出されている。  
 第６章「ナノマトリックスチャネル構造を有する高分子電解質膜の調製」では、ナノ
マトリックスチャネル構造を有するポリマー電解質膜のプロトン輸送のメカニズムが検討
されている。プロトン伝導の活性化エネルギーの値は 12 kJ/mol であり、プロトン輸送が
Grotthuss メカニズムで起きていることが実証されている。  
 第７章「総括」では、ナノマトリックス構造を形成することにより、物性は向上する
ことが総括されている。  
よって、本論文は工学上及び工業上貢献するところが大きく、博士（工学）の学位論文
として十分な価値を有するものと認める。

 Eco-friendly manufacturing associated with energy saving has become common request in 
today’s industrial activities. Enhancing machining performances for the improvement of product’s 
quality, time-saving, and low-cost production are also essential. One approach to enhancing 
machining performance is to apply cutting fluids during machining. However, the usage of cutting 
fluids in machining process has effects on both environment and human health. Meanwhile, usage of 
water in machining is still restricted. Therefore, the objective this study is to developed some 
countermeasures for utilizing water during machining and at the same time reduces the 
environmental impact. Thus, the alternative cooling of using strong alkaline water was proposed 
and evaluated to obtain its impacts on these aspects. In this study, some proposed techniques for 
using water during machining were developed. Since resonance of a machine tool is difficult to 
avoid without changing the cutting condition, therefore, the simple and easy technique to change 
machine tool resonant frequency was developed in order to maintain the cutting condition. In this 
study, the use of the water mixed with polymer PEO to change machine tool resonance frequency is 
proposed. To achieve the optimum result, this method was combined with the reinforcing of 
machine structure and the changing of the position of support’s point. The effectiveness of this 
study was later evaluated by the real cutting experiment to measure the surface roughness of the 
cutting result. It was observed from this study that water can be used to change the machine tool 
resonance. Besides using water for controlling machine resonance, a new cooling technique of using 
strong alkaline water for drilling was also developed. Since strong alkaline water consists of 99.9% 
water, the test by submerging various types of machine tool related materials in it was firstly 
performed to investigate the effect of strong alkaline water in inducing corrosion. For improving 
cooling efficiency, the method by supplying strong alkaline water with microbubble was developed. 
The evaluation was later done by performing drilling test using a trough-hole drill. At final, the 
cutting tool life and cutting surface roughness are investigated and evaluated by experiments. Since 
the result of drilling by cooling using strong alkaline water is better than the conventional cooling, 
another cooling method was proposed by submerging the machine tool completely in the strong 
alkaline water. This method was proposed with an objective to suppress thermal deformation of the 
machine tool. In the evaluation of this method, the changes in the temperature of machine body 
without submerging, with submerge condition in the strong alkaline water, and by adding with 
microbubble were all investigated. The thermal deformation of the bench lathe machine was measured 
and compared. Since cutting evaluation using the bench lathe machine during immersion condition is 
difficult, the evaluation was performed by cut under strong alkaline water using the NC milling 
machine. Lastly, the tooltip temperature, the cutting tool life, and the cutting surface roughness are all 
investigated and evaluated by experiments. In addition, the simple assessment of the environmental

impact is also performed by comparing the conventional wet cutting and cutting using cooling of 
strong alkaline water.
