The Differences in Chemistry Learning Outcomes using Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Head Together with Think Pair Share on the Material of Atomic Structure and Periodic Table in Class XI SMAN 9
This study aimed to determine the differences in the chemistry learning outcomes using cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together with Think-Pair-Share on the material of atomic structure and periodic table in class XI SMAN 9 Palu. This type of research was a quasi-experimental research with the nonrandomized pretest-posttest design. The population in this research was 44 students of class XI IPA in SMA Negeri 9 Palu who registered in the academic year 2017/2018. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. The sample in this study were 22 students of class XI IPA 1 as experimental class 1 and 22 students of class XI IPA 2 as experimental class 2. The data of the research were analyzed using a one-party t-test statistic with the prerequisite test, normality test, and homogeneity. The result of data analysis obtained, X̅1 value of chemistry learning on the students of experimental class 1 was 79.86 (SD = 7.15) whereas in the experimental class 2 students X̅2 value was 73.95 (SD = 8.26). The result of hypothesis testing was obtained t > t1 – α was 2,55 > 1.68 with a significant level (α = 0.05) and degrees of freedom = 42. This showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted so that it can be concluded that there were differences in the results of chemistry learning outcomes using cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together with Think-Pair-Share on the material of the atomic structure and the periodic table
Analysis of Vitamin C in Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior)
Flower kecombrang contains nutrient that are beneficial to the community's nutritional improvement one of vitamin C is needed by the body and as a source of antioxidants. This study aims to determine the levels of vitamin C in flower buds and blooms. Analysis of vitamin C levels in the sample was performed by titration of the iodimetric method. The results of analysis, obtained levels of vitamin C in buds kecombrang flowers were 26.40 mg/100 g and the bloom was 44.26 mg/100 g. The data above showed that vitamin C levels in flower kecombrang increased based on the level of maturity
The Differences between Learning Outcomes Using Guided Inquiry and Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Types of Learning Models on Redox Reaction Concept Material in Grade X at SMA Negeri 2 Sigi
This study aimed to determine the differences between students’ learning outcomes using guided inquiry-type learning model and team assisted individualization (TAI)-type learning model on redox reaction concept in grade X at SMA Negeri 2 Sigi. This study was a quasi-experiment method. The sample was class X MIA5 as an experiment class I (n = 24 students), and class X MIA1 (n = 24 students) as an experiment class II. The data analysis showed that the average score of experiment class I was 73.79, and the experimental class II was 71.45. The results of the hypothesis test with t-test two-party statistics obtained tcount = 0.86. The value was in the reception area of H0 that was between -1.68 and 1.68. The result from the statistical test showed that there was no difference between the students' learning outcomes using guided inquiry-type and team assisted individualization type learning models on redox reaction concept material in grade X at SMA Negeri 2 Sig
Differences in Learning Outcomes of Chemistry through Cooperative Learning Model Type Make a Match and Numbered Head Together on the Material of Electrolyte and Nonelectrolyte Solution of Students Class X in SMA Negeri 9 Palu
Application of learning model is expected to build good communication between students with teachers and students with students in an effort to improve understanding of a concept. This study aimed to determine the differences in the learning outcomes of chemistry through cooperative learning model type make a match and numbered head together in the material of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution of students class X SMA Negeri 9 Palu. This type of research was pre-experimental with the static group pretest-posttest design. The sample used in this research was the students of class Xa (n = 23) as the first experiment 1 and students of class Xb (n = 23) as the second experiment 2 with. The result of data analysis obtained, the mean value of the experiment class 1 was 74.24 and in the experiment class 2 was 67.28. The result of hypothesis testing with t-test statistic on two side was obtained - ttable ≤ tcount ³ + ttable that was (-1.68 <3.27> +1.68 with significant level (α = 0.05) and degrees of freedom = 44. This indicates that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted so that it can be concluded that there are differences in the students’ learning outcomes of chemistry through cooperative learning model type make a match and numbered head together in the material of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution of class X SMA Negeri 9 Palu
Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) with Demonstration Based to Improve the Learning Outcomes of Colloid Topic in Student Class XI SMA Negeri 7 Palu
This study aimed to obtain a description of implementation on student’s learning outcomes the application of cooperative learning model of TGT based on demonstration Class XI on colloid material in SMA Negeri 7 Palu. The type of research used in this research was pre-experimental designs (non-designs) with research design that was one-group pre-test post-test design. Sampling in this study was chosen by purposive sampling. The sample consisted of two classes, class XI IPA 1 as experimental class 1 (n = 28) and class XI IPA 2 as experiment class 2 (n = 29). Student learning outcomes were processed using inferential statistical analysis of the Wilcoxon Rank-Unparpulated Ranking nonparametric test. The results showed that the experimental class 1 was Zcount (-4.62) <Ztable (-1.96) and experiment 2 was Zcount (-4.70) <Ztable (-1.96). The effectiveness of the implementation of learning model of TGT based on demonstration to words student learning outcomes can also be seen from the assessment of student learning outcomes with the average posttest score for experimental class 1 was 83.29 and experiment class 2 was 80.86 with the result of N-gain calculation for both experiment class included in high category that was equal to 0.83 and 0.85. So it can be concluded that the implementation of learning model of TGT based on demonstration can improve student learning outcomes with average greater than 75 on colloid material in SMA 7 Palu
Determination of Calcium Level (Ca) and Iron (Fe) on Red and Green Spinaches at Parigi Moutong
This research aims to determine calcium level (Ca) and iron (Fe) on red and green spinaches at Parigi Moutong. The method used in this research is spectrodirect method. The research result shows that the calcium level (Ca) and iron (Fe) on green spinach was 0.97 mg/kg and red spinach was 58.33 mg/kg at Pelawa village, while the calcium level (Ca) and iron (Fe) on green spinach was 0.62 mg/kg and red spinach was 50.39 mg/kg. From the research results obtained, it can be seen that the level of calcium and iron on red and green spinach in where the red spinach levels higher than the green spinach levels
The Implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model toward Students’ Learning Outcomes in the Class XI IPA on Colloid Material at SMA Negeri 9 Palu
Problem-based learning (PBL) is a learning model where students learn through practical problems related to the real life. The students conducted to solve the problems solving being discussed through a series of learning systematically. This study aimed to improve the learning outcomes of students in the class XI IPA through the implementation of PBL model on colloid material at SMA Negeri 9 Palu. This study was pre-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. This study was conducted by using one group observed at the pretest stage and then continued with posttest to the students of class XI IPA 1 as experiment 1 (n = 26) and students of class XI IPA 2 as experiment 2 (n = 25). The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics by calculating of N-Gain Index. The results showed that the implementation of PBL learning model improved students’ learning outcomes in the class XI IPA on colloid material at SMA Negeri 9 Palu
The Effect of Copper(II) and Cadmium(II) Ions Against the Percent Mercury Ion Extraction Using Emulsion Liquid Membrane Technique
The effect of copper(II) and cadmium(II) ions on the percent of mercury ion extraction using an emulsion liquid membrane technique have been performed. This study used HNO3 as an internal phase, mixed span 80 and span 20 as a surfactant, benzoyl acetone as cation carrier, kerosene as membrane phase, and mercury solution as a sample solution. Variations of concentrations of copper(II) and cadmium(II) ions added were 10, 20, and 30 ppm with mercury concentrations of 30 ppm. The result of the research showed that the addition of copper(II) ion with concentrations of 10 to 30 ppm decreased the percentage of mercury ion extraction 30 ppm by 12.12% and the addition of cadmium(II) ion with the concentration of 10 to 30 ppm decreased the percentage of mercury ion extraction 30 ppm by 11.74%
Analysis of Macro Nutrient on Rono Fish (Xenopoecilus oophorus) Freshwater
Fish are assumed to have high nutritional value with mineral content, vitamins, fats, and proteins containing essential amino acids that are needed for growth and human intelligence. One type of them is rono fish (Xenopoecilus oophorus) freshwater which is an endemic fish that comes from lake Poso, Central Sulawesi and still found in traditional markets of Tentena city, but the local community is less interested in this type of fish and the lack of literature that informs about the nutritional content of rono fish. The research aims to determine the macronutrient content in rono fish. The nutrient content analyzed in fish was on carbohydrates, proteins, and fats by using the anthrone sulfate method for carbohydrate analysis, Kjeldahl method for protein, and for fat analysis using the soxhlet method. The results of the analysis obtained that macronutrient in freshwater rono fish was followed carbohydrate was 9.26%, the protein was 37.79% and fat was 11.92%
The Effect of Giving Extract of Lannea Coromandelica (Lannea coromandelica (Houttuyn) Merrill) Leaf to Decrease the Blood Sugar Level of Mice (Mus musculus)
The Indian ash tree leaf (Lannea coromandelica (Houttuyn) Merrill) contains natural ingredients that can reduce blood glucose levels. This study aimed to determine the concentration of the Indian ash tree leaf extract which is the most effective to reduce blood sugar levels of mice. The leaf sample of the Indian ash tree plant was obtained from Talise sub-district, Mantikulore district, Palu, Central Sulawesi. The preparation of the extract was conducted by the maceration method. The animal testing used were 20 male mice that were induced by EDTA (ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid). Mice were divided into 5 groups as random with different treatments. Treatments I, II, and III were given an extract of 10, 20, and 40%, respectively, treatment IV was given Na-CMC as a negative control (-), and treatment V was given glibenclamide suspension as a positive control (+). The data obtained were analyzed by statistical analysis of variance analysis (ANOVA) and were continued by the Duncan test. The results showed that the Indian ash tree leaf extract can reduce the blood sugar levels of mice. The mean decreased blood glucose level at treatment I was 40.00 mg/dL, treatment II was 47.75 mg/dL, treatment III was 54.75 mg/dL, treatment IV was 1.75 mg/dL, and treatment V was 49.00 mg/dL. The conclusion of this research was that the Indian ash tree leaf extract could reduce the blood sugar level of mice with an effective concentration of 20% with α = 0.05
