Economic Value of Tourism in Bunaken Island based on Travel Cost Method
The objective of the study was to obtain the economic value of tourism in Bunaken Island. It employed Travel Cost Method (TCM), the expenses spent by the visitors from their house to Bunaken Island and during their stay on the island. Questioneers were used as a data collection tool. There were 100 respodents selected using accidental sampling and purposssive sampling. Data analysis applied travel costs of the visitors to Bunaken Island. Results revealed that total economic value based on the total travel costs of IDR. 147.875.000 with an average of IDR. 1.478.750/pers. was IDR. 257.262.425.875. This value is expected to be able to give significant contribution to the social-economic development to Bunaken Island communities, Manado, North Sulawesi.Keywords:Â Tourism; expense; economic contribution; community. AbstrakTujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan nilai ekonomi wisata di Pulau Bunaken. Penelitian ini menggunakan Travel Cost Method (TCM), yaitu biaya yang dikeluarkan oleh pengunjung dari tempat tinggal dan selama berada di Pulau Buanken. Kuesioner digunakan sebagai alat pengumpul. Data 100 orang responden yang dipilih menggunakan accidental sampling dan purpossive sampling. Pengolahan data menggunakan biaya perjalanan responden ke Pulau Bunaken. Hasil menujukkan bahwa total nilai ekonomi berdasarkan total biaya perjalanan sebesar Rp. 147.875.000 dengan rata-rata biaya perjalanan sebesar Rp. 1.478.750/orang, sehingga total nilai ekonomi Pulau Bunaken adalah sebesar Rp. 257.262.425.875. Nilai ini diharapkan akan memberikan efek yang signifikan bagi pertumbuhan sosial ekonomi khususnya masyarakat Pulau Bunaken, masyarakat Kota Manado dan provinsi Sulawesi Utara.Kata kunci: Pariwisata; biaya; kontribusi ekonomi; masyarakat
Isolation and Antibacterial Activity Test of Seagrass Epiphytic Symbiont Bacteria Thalassia hemprichii from Bahowo Waters, North Sulawesi
Seagrass is a higher plant and has the ability to produce bioactive compounds such as antibacterial. Seagrass is also a host to a variety of bacteria. Bacteria that live in the host will produce the same compounds as the host's body. The utilization of symbiotic bacteria with seagrasses as producers of bioactive compounds such as antibacterial can be used as a solution to reduce excessive seagrass uptake in nature. On the other hand, bacteria have the advantage of being fast and easy to grow and can be mass-produced and more economical. This study aims to isolate and test the antibacterial activity of the epiphytic bacteria of seagrass symbionts. Epiphytic bacteria of seagrass symbionts were grown on Nutrient Agar media directly in the field and bacterial isolation was carried out based on the morphological characteristics of the bacterial isolates. The antibacterial activity test was carried out using the disc method with the test bacteria Stapylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, Escherichia coli, Salmonella thypi, and antibiotics as positive controls. The ability of bacteria to produce antibacterial was indicated by the formation of an inhibition zone around the paper disc containing the epiphytic bacteria of the seagrass symbiont T. hemprichii. A total of 3 isolates of epiphytic bacteria were isolated from T. hemprichii seagrass from Bahowo Waters, Tongkaina Village, Bunaken District, these isolates are namely Epifit 1, Epiphyte 2, and Epiphyte 3. Epiphyte 2 isolate had antibacterial activity against S. mutans, S. aureus, and S. thypi test bacteria, Epiphyte 3 isolate had antibacterial activity against S. mutans, and S. thypi test bacteria.Key words: Bacteria; Antibacterial; T. hemprichii; symbionts; BahowoAbstrakLamun merupakan tumbuhan tingkat tinggi dan memiliki kemampuan menghasilkan senyawa bioaktif seperti antibakteri. Lamun juga merupakan tempat hidup atau inang dari berbagai bakteri. Bakteri yang hidup pada inang akan menghasilkan senyawa yang sama dengan tubuh inangnya. Pemanfaatan bakteri yang bersimbiosis dengan lamun sebagai produsen senyawa bioaktif seperti antibakteri dapat dijadikan sebagai solusi dalam mengurangi pengambilan lamun yang berlebihan di alam. Dilain pihak, bakteri memiliki keunggulan karena pertumbuhan bakteri yang cepat dan mudah tumbuh, dapat diproduksi secara massal dan lebih ekonomis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas antibakteri dari bakteri epifit simbion lamun T. hemprichii dari Perairan Bahowo. Bakteri epifit simbion lamun ditumbuhkan pada media NA secara langsung di lapangan dan isolasi bakteri dilaksanakan berdasarkan karateristik morfologi isolat bakteri. Uji aktivitas bakteri dilakukan menggunakan metode cakram dengan bakteri uji S. aureus, S. mutans, E. coli, dan S. thypi dan antibiotik sebagai kontrol positif. Kemampuan bakteri menghasilkan antibakteri ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona hambat disekitar kertas cakram yang mengandung bakkteri epifit simbion lamun T. hemprichii.  Sebanyak 3 isolat bakteri epifit berhasil diisolasi pada lamun T. hemprichii dari Perairan Bahowo, Kelurahan Tongkaina, Kecamatan Bunaken yaitu Epifit 1, Epifit 2, dan Epifit 3. Isolat epifit 3 memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri uji S. thypi, isolat Epifit 2 terhadap bakteri uji S. mutans, S. aureus, dan S. thypi, isolat Epifit 3 terhadap bakteri uji S. mutans, dan S. thypi.Kata kunci: Bakteri; Antibakteri; T. hemprichii; Simbion; Bahow
Diversity of Coral Genus Scleractinia in Tidung Island Waters, Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta Province
Coral reefs are one of the most productive and diverse ecosystems on earth and provide ecosystem services. One of the islands of the Seribu Islands that has a coral reef ecosystem is Tidung Island. It is strategic and developing location makes this island used as a residential area, conservation area, and tourist destination. But the utilization has an impact on the damage of coral reefs through environmental and anthropogenic pressures. This study aims to determine coral diversity by identifying the coral genus Scleractinia and the factors that affect coral diversity. Observations were done on three different stations include 2 snorkeling areas and 1 natural area. The method used is LIT (Line Intercept Transect) and coral genus identification with Coral Finder Toolkit Indo Pacific 3.0. The results of identification obtained 16 coral genera namely genus Acropora, Montipora, Isopora, Favites, Leptastrea, Favia, Goniastrea, Montastrea, Platygyra, Echinopora, Porites, Pocillopora, Stylophora, Ctenactis, Pavona, dan Symphyllia, with the value of Diversity Index (H') in the waters of Tidung Island ranges from 0.94 – 2.34 in the category of low to moderate diversity. The parameters of water quality in Tidung Island, temperature, salinity, and acidity (pH) are relatively good for coral growth, but brightness is still relatively poor for coral growth. The impact of human activities such as snorkeling, ship anchors, fishing with destroyers, oil and waste pollution, and rock mining are factors that affect coral growth and diversity.Keywords: Coral Scleractinia; Limiting Factors; Coral Finder; Tidung IslandAbstrakTerumbu karang adalah salah satu ekosistem yang paling produktif dan beragam di bumi serta menyediakan jasa ekosistem. Salah satu pulau dari gugusan Kepulauan Seribu yang memiliki ekosistem terumbu karang yaitu Pulau Tidung. Letaknya yang strategis dan berkembang menjadikan pulau ini dimanfaatkan sebagai kawasan permukiman, daerah konservasi, dan kawasan tujuan wisata. Namun dari pemanfaatan tersebut memberikan dampak terhadap kerusakan pada terumbu karang melalui tekanan-tekanan lingkungan maupun antropogenik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman karang dengan mengidentifikasi genus karang Scleractinia dan faktor yang mempengaruhi keanekaragaman karang. Pengamatan di tiga stasiun berbeda yaitu di antaranya 2 kawasan wisata snorkeling, dan 1 kawasan yang masih alami. Metode yang digunakan yaitu LIT (Line Intercept Transect) dan identifikasi genus karang dengan Coral Finder Toolkit Indo Pasific 3.0. Hasil identifikasi didapatkan 16 genus karang yaitu genus Acropora, Montipora, Isopora, Favites, Leptastrea, Favia, Goniastrea, Montastrea, Platygyra, Echinopora, Porites, Pocillopora, Stylophora, Ctenactis, Pavona, dan Symphyllia, dengan nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) di perairan Pulau Tidung berkisar 0,94 – 2,34 berada pada kategori keanekaragaman rendah hingga sedang. Parameter kualitas perairan di Pulau Tidung, suhu, salinitas, dan derajat keasaman (pH) tergolong baik bagi pertumbuhan karang, namun kecerahan masih tergolong kurang baik bagi pertumbuhan karang. Isolation and Screening the Symbiont Bacteria of the Sponge Dragmacidon sp from Manado Bay, North Sulawesi that Producing Chitinase and Protease
Enzymes are important in the technology industry and hydrolytic enzymes, such as chitinase and protease are commonly used for it. Various types of microorganisms such as bacteria can produce hydrolytic enzymes. Sponge-associated bacteria are excellent sources of extracellular hydrolytic enzymes because the surface and internal spaces of sponges are richer in nutrients. The aim of this study was to isolate and screen the bacteria of the sponge Dragmacidon sp symbiotic from Manado Bay, North Sulawesi that producing chitinase and protease  Symbiont bacteria were grown in Zobell 1226 E medium with a dilution of 10-4. Bacterial isolation was carried out based on the morphological characteristics of the colony. Chitinase and protease activity was carried out by growing each bacterial isolate in chitin and protein media at 36oC for 48 hours. Chitinase and protease activities were indicated by the formation of a clear zone around the bacterial colony, however, the clear zone for chitinase activity was observed after pouring the Lugol's solution. Based on this study, 8 isolates bacteria of the symbiotic spongy Dragmacidon sp from Manado Bay, North Sulawesi were isolated based on morphological characteristics. The colony of the bacteria is generally white with an irregular shape. Four isolates, namely 1, 2, 3, and 8 had chitinase activity with chitinolytic indexes were 1.7; 1.5; 1.4, and 1.3, respectively. Six isolates, namely 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 had protease activity with proteolytic indexes were 1.4; 1.8; 3.1; 1.3; 1.8; and 2.5, respectively.Keywords: Bacteria; Chitinolytic; Proteolytic; Symbiont; SpongeAbstrakEnzim menempati posisi penting dalam bidang teknologi dan industri. Enzim yang banyak digunakan dalam bidang industri adalah enzim hidrolase. Enzim dapat diisolasi dari berbagai jenis mikroorganisme seperti bakteri. Bakteri yang berasosiasi dengan spons merupakan sumber enzim hidrolitik ekstraseluler yang sangat baik karena permukaan dan ruang internal spons lebih kaya nutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas kitinase dan protease bakteri simbion spons Dragmacidon sp dari Teluk Manado. Bakteri simbion spons ditumbuhkan dalam media Zobell 1226 E pada pengenceran 10-4. Isolasi bakteri dilaksanakan berdasakan karakteristik morfologi. Aktivitas kitinase dan protease dilaksanakan dengan menumbuhkan setiap isolat bakteri dalam media kitin dan protein pada suhu 36oC selama 48 jam. Aktivitas kitinase dan protease ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona bening di sekitar koloni bakteri yang mana untuk kitinase diamati setelah diberi larutan lugol. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, 8 isolat bakeri simbion spon Dragmacidon sp dari Teluk Manado, Sulawesi Utara berhasil diisolasi berdasarkan karakteristik morfologi. Isolat bakteri umumnya berwarna putih dengan bentuk ireguller. Empat isolat yakni 1, 2, 3, dan 8 memiliki aktivitas kitinase dan enam isolat yakni 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6 yang memiliki aktivitas protease. Indeks kitinolitik dari masing-masing keempat isolat bakteri secara berturut turut adalah 1,7; 1,5; 1,4; dan 1,3 dengan kategori bernilai rendah dan indeks proteolitik adalah 1,4; 1,8; 3,1; 1,3; 1,8; dan 2,5 dengan kategori bernilai rendah sampai tinggi.Kata kunci: Bakteri; Kitinolitik; Proteolitik; Simbion; Spon
Characteristics of Marine Debris in Malalayang Coastal Area, Manado City, North Sulawesi Province
This study aims to determine the characteristics of marine debris at Malalayang Beach, Manado City, North Sulawesi Province, the marine debris collected comes from underwater and the intertidal zone. Underwater waste is collected through Scuba Dive divers, while intertidal marine debris is collected by combing along the shoreline. The method used in this study is a cruising survey with depth limits and quadrant sampling locations. The waste obtained is then sorted and weighed to obtain data for each group of waste. The condition of the marine debris on the land is much more where there are 9 groups of marine debris with an average weight value of 5.16 kg, while in the sea there are only 7 groups of marine debris with an average weight of 2.34 kg. The total weight of marine debris on the land side is still much higher at 72.30 kg, while in the sea it is only 32.70 kg.Keywords: Marine Debris; Coastal; MalalayangAbstrakKajian ini bertujuan untuk megetahui karakterisitik sampah laut pada daerah pesisir Pantai Malalayang, Kota Manado, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Sampah yang dikumpulkan berasal dari bawah air dan zona intertidal. Untuk sampah yang ada dibawah air dikumpulkan melalui penyelam Scuba Dive, sedangkan sampah daerah intertidal dikumpulkan dengan cara meyisir sepanjang garis pantai. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah survei jelajah dengan batasan kedalaman dan kuadran lokasi sampling. Sampah yang didapatkan kemudian dipilah dan ditimbang untuk mendapatkan data masing-masing kelompok sampah. Kondisi sampah pada bagian darat jauh lebih banyak dimana terdapats 9 kelompok sampah dengan nilai rata-rata berat sampah sebesar 5,16 kg, sedangkan pada bagian laut hanya ditemukan 7 kelompok sampah dengan rata-rata berat sebesar 2,34 kg. Total berat sampah pada bagian darat masih jauh lebih tinggi yaitu sebesar 72,30 kg, sedangkan pada bagian laut hanya sebesar 32,70 kg.Kata kunci: Sampah Laut; Pesisir; Malalayan
Morphological identification of crabs in the rocky coast of Manado Bay
Coastal areas have a wealth of biological natural resources including marine life such as crustaceans. One of the marine organisms in the crustacean group is the crab. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of crabs that live in rocky coastal habitats through a morphological approach. To determine the morphology of crabs can be done by looking at the shape, color, and size. The results of this study found 3 types of crabs in two locations in the Manado Bay area including the crab is Grapsus albolineatus, Ozius truncatus, and Uca (Galasimus) tetragonon. Based on the results of the research above, morphological forms were found on the abdomen in the form of a tapered triangle which indicated that the crab was male and the abdomen was triangular with the female sex. The most common crabs found at the study site were female crabs.Keywords: Coastal Area; Crab; Morphology AbstrakWilayah pesisir memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam hayati diantaranya biota laut seperti krustasea. Salah satu organisme laut dalam golongan krustasea adalah kepiting. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis kepiting yang hidup di habitat pantai pesisir berbatu melalui pendekatan morfologi. Untuk mengetahui morfologi pada kepiting dapat dilakukan dengan melihat bentuk, warna serta ukuran. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 3 jenis spesies kepiting pada dua lokasi yang berada di daerah Teluk Manado diantaranya kepiting Grapsus albolineatus Ozius truncatus dan Uca (Galasimus) tetragonon. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diatas maka ditemukan bentuk morfologis pada bagian abdomen berbentuk segitiga meruncing yang menunjukkan bahwa kepiting tersebut berkelamin jantan dan abdomen berbentuk segitiga melebar merupakan kepiting dengan jenis kelamin betina. Potential of Natural Regeneration Mangrove Seedling on The Coast of Davi Village Biak Numfor Regency, Papua
Mangrove ecosystem is an important ecosystem in coastal areas which is a habitat for various types of organisms. The existence of mangrove ecosystems in nature is strongly influenced by the availability of mangrove seedlings and seedlings because they are closely related to the secondary succession process in natural habitats. This research was conducted to analyze the potential for regeneration of mangrove seedlings in the coastal area of Dafi Village, Biak Numfor Regency, Papua. Data collection on the potential for regeneration of mangrove seedlings was carried out using the belt transect method. Analysis of species composition and structure of mangrove vegetation at the seedling level used analysis of species density, relative density, species frequency, relative frequency, and important value index. A total of seven mangrove species were found in the coastal area of Dafi Village, Biak Numfor Regency, consisting of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera cylindrica, Ceriops Tagal, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora Stylosa, and Lumnitzera racemoza. The highest species density and relative density values were found in Bruguiera gymnorrizha and Cerops tagal, while the lowest was Rhizophora mucronata and Lumnitzera racemoza. The highest value of species frequency and relative frequency was Bruguiera gymnorrizha, while the lowest was Rhizophora mucronata. The highest Importance Value Index (INP) of mangrove seedlings was found in Ceriops tagal and Bruguiera gymnorrizha, while Rhizophora mucronata had the lowest INP compared to other species.Keywords: Mangrove Ecosystem; Mangrove Regeneration; Important Value Index AbstrakEkosistem mangrove merupakan ekosistem penting di wilayah pesisir yang menjadi habitat bagi berbagai jenis organisme. Keberadaan ekosistem mangrove dialam sangat dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan anakan dan semai mangrove, karena sangat berkaitan erat dengan proses suksesi sekunder pada habitat alami. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menganalisis potensi regenerasi semai mangrove di Pesisir Kampung Dafi Kabupaten Biak Numfor Papua. Pengumpulan data potensi regenerasi semai mangrove dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode belt transek. Analisis komposisi jenis dan struktur vegetasi mangrove tingkat semai menggunakan analisis kerapatan jenis, kerapatan relatif, frekuensi jenis, frekuensi relatif, dan indeks nilai penting. Total tujuh jenis mangrove ditemukan di Pesisir Kampung Dafi Kabupaten Biak Numfor yang terdiri atas jenis Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera cylindrica, Ceriops Tagal, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora Stylosa, dan Lumnitzera racemoza. Nilai kerapatan jenis dan kerapatan relatif tertinggi ditemukan pada jenis Bruguiera gymnorrizha dan Cerops tagal, sedangkan terrendah adalah jenis Rhizophora mucronata dan Lumnitzera racemoza. Nilai frekuensi jenis dan frekuensi relatif tertinggi adalah jenis Bruguiera gymnorrizha sedangkan yang terendah adalah jenis Rhizophora mucronata. Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) semai mangrove tertinggi ditemukan pada jenis Ceriops tagal dan Bruguiera gymnorrizha sedangkan jenis Rhizophora mucronata memiliki INP terrendah dibanding jenis lainnya.Kata kunci: Ekosistem Mangrove; Regenerasi Mangrove; Indeks Nilai Pentin
Estimation of Carbon Stored Mangrove Vegetation in Small Islands Bunaken National Park
Mangrove ecosystems have many roles in maintaining balance in coastal areas and on small islands because they are very productive and contribute as a source of organic carbon and other nutrients, and can absorb carbon in the atmosphere and store it in biomass and sediments so that mangroves play a very important role in mitigating global climate change. The purpose of this study is to find out how much potential carbon stock is stored in mangrove vegetation in Bunaken National Park North Minahasa Region (Mantehage Island and Nain Island). This study uses the line transect method for sampling plots in data collection, where at each research station 3 plots measuring 10x10 m2 are made with a distance that adjusts to the condition of the mangroves. Each individual in the plot was recorded for the type, number, and circumference of the tree trunk. Calculation of the biomass of mangrove trees using the allometric equation Komiyama et al., (2005) and estimating the amount of carbon (C) stored using the Brown (1997) and IPCC (2006) equations. The results of the estimation of the total carbon stored in mangrove vegetation in KDP National Park Bunaken North Minahasa Region (Mantehage Island and Nain Island) the total potential of biomass and carbon stored in mangrove vegetation in KDP TNB North Minahasa Region (Mantehage Island and Nain Island) amounted to 75.91 tons /ha or the equivalent of 35.68 tons C/ha.Keywords: Small islands; Mangrove; Biomass; CarbonAbstrakEkosistem mangrove memiliki banyak peranan dalam menjaga keseimbangan di wilayah pesisir maupun pada pulau-pulau kecil karena sangat produktif dan berkontribusi sebagai sumber karbon organik dan nutrien lainnya, serta dapat menyerap karbon di atmosfer dan menyimpannya dalam biomassa dan sedimen, sehingga mangrove sangat berperan dalam mitigasi perubahan iklim global. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui seberapa besar potensi stok karbon tersimpan pada vegetasi mangrove di PPK Wilayah Minahasa Utara (Pulau Mantehage dan Pulau Nain). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode garis transek petak contoh dalam pengambilan data, dimana pada setiap stasiun penelitian dibuat 3 plot berukuran 10x10 m2 dengan jarak menyesuaikan keadaan mangrove. Setiap individu yang terdapat dalam plot dicatat jenis, jumlah, dan keliling lingkar batang pohon. Perhitungan biomassa tegakan pohon mangrove menggunakan persamaan allometrik Komiyama et al., (2005) dan mengestimasi jumlah karbon (C) tersimpan menggunakan persamaan Brown (1997) dan IPCC (2006). Hasil estimasi total karbon tersimpan pada vegetasi mangrove di PPK Taman Nasional Bunaken Wilayah Minahasa Utara (Pulau Mantehage dan Pulau Nain) total potensi biomassa dan karbon tersimpan vegetasi mangrove di PPK TNB Wilayah Minahasa Utara (Pulau Mantehage dan Pulau Nain) yakni sebesar 75,91 ton/ha atau setara 35,68 ton C/ha.Kata Kunci: Pulau-Pulau Kecil (PPK); Mangrove; Biomassa; Karbo
Community Structure And Attraction Of Reef Fish Associated With Artificial Reef In The Tahuna Bay
 Community structure and interest of coral fish associated with artificial reefs in The Bay of Tahuna Sangihe Islands Regency is carried out in relation to increased coral fish production in Tahuna Bay. In addition to sandy waters and seagrass so that environmental engineering is pursued with artificial reefs. Artificial reefs are deployed in 5 locations with a depth of about 8 and underwater observations are carried out in data retrieval using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method. The data is processed to get a profile of the community structure of coral fish that can be associated with artificial reefs. The composition of coral fish species consists of target fish 9 families; 14 species, major fish 6 families; 7 species and fish indicator 1 family; 1 species. Indicator fish are generally eaters of the ends of young branch corals, branch corals have not grown in artificial reef structures. The diversity index (H') of the moderate category (+2.5) with a high, stable community, evenness (E) level or classified as a relatively high, uniformity (S) high. A low dominance index (C) indicates no species dominates. Mann-Whitney analysis about the level of fish interest to artificial reefs structure both in morning and evening showed no significant difference, while the highest acquisition of Important Values Indices of coral fish in the morning and evening, is Dascyllus trimaculatus by + 73,15. Generally, artificial reef indicates that the coral fish community was maximum developed yet, it was suspected that the coral fish community is still in the stage of adjustment or adaptation to the new environmental structure.Keywords: Community Structure; Artificial Reef; Associate Fishes; gulf TahunaAbstrakStruktur komunitas dan ketertarikan ikan karang yang berasosiasi dengan terumbu buatan di Teluk Tahuna Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe dilakukan dalam kaitan dengan peningkatan produksi ikan karang di Teluk Tahuna. Selain karena perairan berpasir dan lamun sehingga diupayakan suatu rekayasa lingkungan dengan penempatan terumbu buatan. Terumbu buatan diletakkan (deploy) di 5 lokasi dengan kedalaman sekitar 8 dan dilakukan pengamatan bawah air dan pengambilan data menggunakan metode Underwater Visual Census (UVC). Data diolah untuk mendapatkan profil struktur komunitas ikan-ikan karang yang dapat berasosiasi dengan terumbu buatan. Komposisi jenis ikan karang terdiri dari ikan target 9 family; 14 spesies, ikan mayor 6 family; 7 spesies dan ikan indikator 1 family; 1 spesies. Ikan indikator yang umumnya pemakan ujung karang cabang muda, karang cabang belum bertumbuh di struktur terumbu buatan. Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) kategori sedang (+ 2,5) dengan kemerataan (E) tergolong tinggi, komunitas stabil, keseragaman (S) tinggi. Indeks dominansi (C) rendah mengindikasikan tidak ada spesies mendominasi. Hasil Analisis Mann-Whitney terhadap tingkat ketertarikan ikan terhadap terumbu buatan baik pagi dan sore hari menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata artinya terumbu buatan mampu menarik ikan karang untuk berlindung dan mencari makan, sedangkan perolehan tertinggi Index Nilai Penting ikan karang saat pagi dan sore hari yaitu Dascyllus trimaculatus sebesar 72.04% dan 74.27% Secara umum menunjukkan terumbu buatan belum berkembang maksimal, di duga komunitas Ikan karang masih dalam tahap penyesuaian atau adaptasi dengan struktur terumbu buatan di lingkungan yang baru.Kata kunci: struktur komunitas; terumbu buatan; ikan asosiasi; teluk tahun
